Guide Lane care home, ideally situated in the peaceful residential area of Audenshaw, just outside of Manchester, provides personalised residential and nursing care to older people.

The welcoming and purpose-built home has a beautiful tranquil garden, which is a popular place for residents to relax and watch the world go by. There is also a hair salon and minibus for trips out.

Guide Lane also boasts a selection of specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to share meals with fellow residents, or family and friends. The catering team prides itself on ensuring that each meal is an enjoyable and heart-warming experience for every resident and visitor to the home.

My mother has been a resident since 2009. At first, it was a bit difficult but the staff have been extremely helpful and friendly. Very easy to talk to and answer questions. My mother seems to be very happy and that's the main thing.

We viewed 5 care homes before choosing Guide Lane Care Home and our decision was made by the warm welcome of all staff as we viewed the home. Our friend feels very contented and safe whilst she for the first time in several years has bee taken to the local aquarium, the pub for lunch with more trips
planned. Also, we have all been entertained by artists/singers at the home. Great job.

Staff were very good with my wife and treated her with dignity and respect. The staff supported me and made me smile even though we all knew my beloved wife would not be there for long.


The food was excellent and time was taken to ensure my wife's custard consistency food was correct.


The management

were fantastic. They always had time for me if I needed a quick word or was unsure about anything.


There were a couple of blips at first but these were soon rectified.
My wife's room was only small but as she was bed bound toileting was not an issue.


There were trips out and activities but my wife could not take advantage of these due to her condition.

My grandmother was assessed for nursing care in February 2017. I looked at numerous homes and felt that Guide Lane would be the best to meet her needs. It also came with a recommendation from the residential home she was in. Nana came to Guide Lane in June, and within the short time she has been
here, the difference in her is quite remarkable. She is far more alert, tries to communicate more effectively, and has gained weight. The staff have been lovely and the transition seamless. I didn't think we would find a better care home than the one she was in but Guide Lane is an exceptional place.

My stepmother always appears happy and comfortable. The staff are very attentive and always smiling and nothing is too much trouble.
Although my stepmother's meals are minced diet they are always well presented and she eats them all!

My husband was resident in Guide Lane Care Home for seven months until he died 4th January 2017. He was very ill and most of the time unable to leave his bed. Our family were devastated and we had no option but to agree to his admission. However, it was our best decision as he was treated with dignity
and kindness and the best care possible, the nurses and carers could not have done a better job and have our utmost admiration and thanks.
