Fees are subject to a pre-admission needs assessment which is required to fully understand the level
of care and support required by each individual. Premium rooms normally require an additional charge.
Nursing fees include the Funded Nursing Contribution (FNC) if you are eligible. There are no additional fees
for respite stays.

Please note, the weekly fee does not include hairdressing, chiropody or other healthcare visits or
appointments not covered by the NHS, toiletries, newspapers or magazines, any over the counter
medications that a GP wouldn’t normally prescribe such as paracetamol and indigestion relief, and any
other privately arranged healthcare. Should you require an escort to hospital appointments, we may apply
an agreed hourly charge for this service.

I would like to start by offering my sincere condolences on the loss of your mum. Please know our thoughts are with you during this difficult time. I am sorry to read you felt it was regimented rather than a homely feel and nobody had attended the funeral to represent from the home.
After discussing this with the home in more detail, we understand that there was miscommunication for the funeral date for your mum, which unfortunately resulted in the home team not being able to attend. We understand that the team at the home sent flowers and were also in receipt of boxes of chocolates from the family as a way to thank the team, which they were really appreciative of.
At Care UK we hold ourselves to high standards and I am sorry you feel we did not meet your expectations. We will always strive to improve and take on feedback. We are saddened to hear of your comments about your experience at Riverside care home. The Home Manager position has now been filled with an experienced care home manager and we are confident that this new appointment will provide reassurance to residents and their families. Relatives are welcome to attend our regular Relative Meetings; these are held so that families can receive regular communication and be kept informed about their loved one’s care plan. The team are currently working on a robust maintenance programme to improve areas of the home. Our housekeeping team take great care when handling residents’ clothes, however, with the number of items being cleaned each day, we highly recommend that items of clothing are labelled before being brought into the home. We will be in touch with you directly to talk through the concerns you have raised and how the team are working to overcome these.

This includes essential maintenance to ensure the home meets crucial health and safety standards, as well as working with families to ensure rooms are personalised and made to feel homely. Thank you for taking the time to review Riverside care home. We are delighted to hear your comments about the day care and the food. We are sorry to hear your feedback about the night care. We use the NHS digital health system during the day to minimise hospital visits but unfortunately, this provision ends at 10pm. We are pleased to say that we have now reorganised our housekeeping team and there is now a specific laundry team in place. This will ensure that personal laundry is returned to the right resident.

Thanks very much for your great feedback on Riverside. We are delighted that you rate the overall standard of care and facilities as excellent and you think the staff are amazing. With regards to your comments about the food, our head chef was off work with a burn to his arm and we had a period of using agency chefs. We are happy to say that the head chef is now back at work and we have just started new summer menus, which the residents have had involvement in finalising.
