He didn’t want to go into a care home because of a terrible experience having respite care elsewhere. I cannot speak highly enough of the care my dad received in his final weeks. I was kept so well informed of what was going on and the girls gave as good as they got with him and (with one or two awkward
exceptions) could not do enough for him or be kinder to us as a family. I am so grateful, especially to those he considered his favourites - you know who you are - it is a comfort to know he was treated with respect until the very end. Thank you so much, this could have been so much harder without you.

Carrington Court Care Home have been amazing in caring for my mum. They have treated her with dignity in her last few weeks of life. They kept her clean and have been fantastic with her. They have offered support to me and my family during this difficult time. I am incredibly grateful for the outstanding
care they have provided to my mum and us as a family. They have allowed my mum to die peacefully and with dignity. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended.

My mum was admitted to Carrington Court on end-of-life care. I must admit that I was hesitant at placing her in care, but I need not have worried. My mum and I were greeted by a member of staff who was so welcoming and friendly all my worries just disappeared. From the very start communication with
the staff has been excellent, they are organised with information concerning mum that is relayed to me in a very professional manner, I am kept informed of any changes needed and I feel able to ask if I have any questions. All the staff at the home that I have encountered have given my mum the care that she needs and treat her with the utmost dignity and are genuinely compassionate and caring when dealing with her. It is lovely to watch how she responds to them with a smile on her face and is able to laugh and joke with them. For me, this shows that mum is feeling safe a secure within her surroundings. They are also aware of my feelings, and when I am struggling will offer me support.

My grandma is currently staying in Carrington Court, and due to her very poor health, she is permitted compassionate visits. I’ve witnessed first hand the exceptional care provided by all staff members, without exception. It’s lovely to see my grandma’s warm reaction to each member of staff; it’s clear
she feels safe and well looked after here. Thank you so much to the staff for your hard work and dedication to my grandma and the other residents.

I can’t thank all of the wonderful staff at Carrington enough for the amazing care that they have given to my grandma. Each and every member of staff ensured my grandma was looked after to a very high standard, nothing was ever to much trouble. My grandma was so happy and comfortable considering she
had been so used to being at home surrounded by her own loving family. The staff at Carrington court treated her as though she was their family which meant the world to us especially with the government restrictions. We had daily contact and regular zoom calls in which we could see our grandma's beautiful happy smile, from her favourite meals to always having her nails painted and her hair styled it was lovely to see. No matter how poorly grandma was her dignity always remained. We will be forever thankful for the support you have shown us all. Thank you all so much for your kindness, love and care.

My dad has been a resident at the home for the past 30 months and I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a home for a loved one.
The constant care and the attention given to all of the residents by each and every member staff goes far beyond the call of duty, nothing
is to much trouble for the very friendly team and they do become part of your family.
Since the coronavirus has been with us all, the home has been kept everyone safe with the high level of procedures put in place, no one has had the virus.
When we have not been able to visit I have always been kept up to date with how my dad is doing, 3 weeks ago he took a turn for the worst and we were allowed compassionate visits and to our amazement, he is at present doing great, feeding his self, out of bed in his wheelchair and it is not only due to my dad's determination, it's the constant care and dedication of all the staff.
Well done to each and every one of you, Thank you so much.

My husband was very happy on his week respite. He loved the staff and they appeared very happy with him. He actually amazed me when he came home, he was a different man, more alert, more mobile, more chatty and was better all round. He is quite happy to come and stay again.

I was very reluctant to come into care, due to health problems no choice. When I came to the door very apprehensive about what I was facing. I was met at the door by staff which I thought was a lovely gesture. Everyone very nice, made me feel most welcome. After one week feel really at home.

Carrington Court is a breath of fresh air where care homes are concerned. All staff are very attentive, friendly and genuinely caring and compassionate. Nothing is too much trouble. Everybody is smiling! My mum has been made to feel extremely welcome, and despite her complex needs, the quality of care
is outstanding. This is a very organised, well-managed home and I can't find one fault. My mum/my family are very fortunate to have Mum stay in Carrington Court.

I cannot praise Carrington Court highly enough for the care my mother is getting. Everyone is so friendly, passionate and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. There is an open door policy which is reassuring for families. We take young children to visit their great grandma and they are greeted
just as friendly as what adults are.

Since admission, my mother has been treated with care, compassion and dignity. Although bed bound, she is always clean and well looked after. The management and all staff are caring, welcoming and approachable and nothing seems too much trouble. All the family are extremely satisfied that she is in

I could not have felt more at ease knowing our dad was being looked after so caring and affectionately.
We could visit at all hours and always made welcome.
The last day of dad's life, we all stayed the night and was treated with such care and nothing was too much trouble. So a massive thank you all.

There are other care homes of differing standards available, however we chose Carrington Court as it just felt right. From the moment we visited we knew it would supply my dad with everything he would need throughout his end of life care. He was always treated with dignity and respect throughout by
all the staff (agency staff included) who made us feel welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. Communication throughout was excellent and the support from Wigan hospice was also very good. My family can honestly say that throughout the whole process we were supported by all to a very high standard and your input can be as little or as much as you want to put in without being pre-judged. Their passion, compassion and support throughout to all involved was, without doubt, exemplary and nobody ever seemed to have a bad day.
To sum up if you need to make a difficult decision in difficult circumstances we would not hesitate to recommend Carrington Court.

We find the care home very welcoming staff are always very happy to help with anything your relative needs. The rooms are small but adequate. The nursing staff are great and will always help to explain whats going on with medication and your relatives condition.

After much soul searching and looking at every avenue available to us, we decided that a nursing home was the best option for my nan.
After visiting over a dozen in the Wigan area, we decided upon Carrington Court.
The manager and her staff are simply wonderful. Caring, jolly, positive, patient and
unfailingly positive. The place is run like a jolly seaside hotel, the happiness and positivity of the staff is mirrored by the happiest collection of residents that you're ever likely to see in a nursing home.
The place is clean, wonderfully decorated with cheerful, tasteful decore, large ensute smart bedrooms and wonderful fresh menus. I really can't do this wonderful place justice in so few words, absolutely 5 star.

The care that my mother was given was excellent. All my mum's needs were met. The staff were all friendly and always had a smile or an acknowledgement when we visited or if they went into mum's room. We were always kept informed of mum's health. The dignity shown when mum passed away was excellent.

Introducing Rebecca Asprey
Home Manager at Carrington Court, Wigan

that are important to someone and building a relationship that
enables you to support them through difficult times.”


As a Registered Nurse, Rebecca has
gained over 15 years’ experience in
providing care and support for older
people to enrich their lives. She is a
knowledgeable and committed leader
who is passionate about delivering the
highest possible standards in care and
quality of life for Residents.


Rebecca joined Carrington Court as
Home Manager as she closely shares
HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the
kindest care for each and every Resident.
She uses her experience to motivate her
team to deliver care and support in a way
that Residents gain the most benefit, in a
warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events
and activities with nearby organisations
and is always quick to welcome the local
community to Carrington Court.
When asked what she enjoys most about
her role, Rebecca remarked:


“I really enjoy the staff development side
of my role - seeing potential in someone,
recognising their skills and increasing
their confidence so they can fulfil their
potential.”
