At the time of your nan's stay, our staffing levels were 6 staff to 30 residents (4 care staff, a nurse, and a nurse assistant) This ratio meets the needs and levels of dependency in the house and previous reviews are testament to the high standards we set. We apologise that we did not meet these expectations for you and your nan. We wish this issue had been brought to our attention sooner so we could have worked together to resolve any concerns. We are sorry if the service didn't meet your expectations and would have welcomed the opportunity to speak with you about this at the time to help resolve any concerns quickly and improve the overall experience. Unfortunately, no complaints or concerns were raised during the stay in May however an internal investigation has identified some behavioural issues at times and a poor nutritional intake as your husband himself declined meals on a frequent basis despite our continued attempts and efforts. We feel that the low gradings are not representative of the quality service we offer as is evidenced by our general feedback and review scores. We are very sorry to hear of your husband's passing and extend our heartfelt sympathies and best wishes to you and the family.

Job Title: Home Manager
I started at Bedford Care Home as a Care assistant in 2005. I loved working here at the Nursing Dementia house I was at then, Since this I have progressed in my career through various roles at Bedford. I have been a Nursing Assistant, Unit Manager, Head of Care and Deputy Manager and I am very proud to now be the registered Manager.
I have always had a passion for Caring since leaving school and the Dream was to become a Nurse, But I took a different route as I had children early on.
My Goal is to make Bedford have a warm and welcoming feel to ensure residents/families, staff and visitors all feel at home. Everyone at Bedford is like Family.
