Nestled within a peaceful residential area of Toxteth, on the outskirts of Liverpool, Mersey Parks care home offers personalised residential, nursing and residential dementia care to older people.

Staff are always friendly/helpful. The care home does need some improvement to it though.

Mersey Parks is an excellent care home for the elderly. The management, care and auxiliary staff are highly professional and provide excellent care to those in their care. As a family member, I feel very comfortable knowing that my mother is truly cared for and all of her needs are met. Since she has
been here there have been no instances of sickness and I believe this is down to the nursing and prompt action when a UTI presents itself. I would highly recommend to all. A+.

The staff are excellent, food on most occasions is good, it is served to a high standard and there is plenty of it. The laundry service could do with a little improvement. The rooms are kept clean and aired. Bedding is changed very regularly.

Staff all appear extremely caring towards my Mother. She recovered from the bed sores she had developed in hospital. I was pleased that the home was able to provide a special chair for mum. Minor complaints - it took ages to replace some of the damaged furniture and sometimes the supply of correct 'pads'
run out.

Thank you for the feedback. The pads are supplied through the local authority and we will always endeavour to anticipate any shortages and order ahead if necessary. Apologies if some furniture was slow in being replaced. We hope that replacement furniture should be available in a timely manner once ordered in future as the transfer to our new owners has now been completed and systems in place to minimise supplier delays.

I think the staff are very good, overworked and sometimes short staff unit can be very demanding.

Thank you for your feedback. We review our staffing levels regularly and this includes senior management reviewing on a weekly basis. When setting levels we always take into consideration the number of residents living on a unit at that time and dependency levels and needs of the individuals living on that unit. Our staffing levels are able to flex accordingly. The views of staff are also taken into consideration when reviewing dependency levels and we will also take into consideration your views during the next review. We also supplement our staff team by having additional support staff such as Activities assistants on duty.

Springfield is a very friendly cheerful place. The staff are excellent and are not only there for the residents but the visitors too. I know that if I miss a day that my dad will be taken care of. I have worked in nursing homes myself and know this is not always the case, my only concern is staff shortage.

Thank you for the kind comments. We review our staffing levels on a regular basis and these are also monitored by senior management. Staffing levels take into consideration the residents currently living on a particular unit and we review dependency, occupancy levels and specific needs of individual residents when staffing levels are determined. It is never our intention to operate short staffed. If ever we experience staff calling in sick at short notice, where possible we replace with our own staff, but on occasions it may be necessary to use agency staff and we may have needed to wait for them to arrive, but this is only ever after opportunities to staff with our own staff have been exhausted. We are happy to report that HC-One have supportive HR and recruitment teams to help us to support our team and to recruit new team members.

I have to say the home is top class and the care you give to residents is perfect. The staff are ever so kind and friendly and always so pleasant whenever we visit.
It is so clean and very well maintained. Food is good and when I visit I'm always asked if I'd like tea or coffee.
I am very satisfied
with the care my aunt is receiving.

My grandmother has been a resident over the past 3 months after breaking her hip. The care, understanding and consideration given in this home is excellent. It is very clean, well organised staff are very pleasant and the residents are treated well. You are encouraged to feed back any issues so they
can be dealt with immediately. The food is excellent and full of variety. The residents are encouraged to snack and drink plenty if they cannot face a meal. Their nutrition and hygiene and mental health is obviously continuously addressed and recorded which puts my family at ease. New manager is excellent and morale is high amongst staff and residents.

Wonderful! Staff are great, food is great very friendly place, very relaxing. The attention we receive is very good. The staff are very helpful. As far as I can see from my experience of visits, my mother is very well cared for, to the best of the team of staffs ability. Staff are friendly with an excellent attitude towards residents. I am reassured that my mothers needs are met on a daily basis.

Always very clean and bright. My father has been treated very well by all members of staff who I have encountered over the last year. I also notice all of the people who live in Mersey Parks are treated with respect and dignity even if their families are around. My father asks the same question about
why he is here and the staff are very patient. Access to doctors hairdressers etc seems very well organised. I do not live in Liverpool and am not able to see my father as often as I would like. But knowing I can call and speak to someone is very helpful.
