Stocks Hall St Helens, is a State of the Art Home providing Excellent, Individualised, Specialised Care for adults, eighteen years onwards. It has 54 beautiful, generously proportioned, light rooms (all with en suite facilities) decorated to individual taste. A selection of the rooms have overhead tracking hoists. Jacuzzi rooms and spa bath facilities are provided. In the grounds of the Home is an activities cabin, hosting many pleasurable activities. The Home has both tranquil and working garden areas. It is superbly situated in a quiet residential area overlooking the cricket green. People living within Stocks Hall St Helens are encouraged to be as active as they would like to be and enjoy planting and growing vegetables. Chefs cook home made nutritious meals catering for special dietary needs if required. A warm welcome awaits. My husband has been a resident on the Jade Unit since August 2023 he is well looked after and has all his nursing needs seen to on a daily basis. His room and facilities are lovely. All the staff are caring and treat the residents like they would their own families. The manager is easily approachable.

Cannot fault the care that he has received. The staff are so caring and patient with him. When we take him out, he can't wait to get back, which is wonderful for us to hear. He is so happy here. The staff have turned his life around. Thank you all so much.

My experience of the home has been 10 out of 10. From the minute my son arrived - very friendly, and helpful. They look after my son very well. He has care 24/7 at the end of a buzzer. This gives me peace of mind. He is cared for all the time, I can't praise the home any more than I do.

The staff are friendly, nothing is too much trouble, very helpful. Always keep us up to date with how he is doing and passing positive feedback on how our son is doing. My husband has been in Stocks Hall for 16 years. Always clean and happy to see staff. Rooms spotless, laundry is always done (good staff), manager a friendly face and will help family members.
Care family staff are always keen to help him, and enjoys their company.

Staff, on the whole, are very good, with some exceptions regarding communication, some don't even acknowledge you! But that is a minority. I am more confident now with my son's care than I was a year ago - any issues I have are usually dealt with straight away.

My daughter has been living in Stocks Hall for four years after she had an infection. On her arrival, she was treated with such love and happiness from all staff and other residents. She is so happy and well cared for, which gives us peace of mind, knowing she is happy and settled. I would highly recommend

Stocks Hall is a great care home. My mum has spent many years; I cannot fault a thing. The management and all the staff are amazing. I have never had to worry about my mum, as I know she’s always been in good hands. Her care has always been 100%; it’s like a home from home.

I have been associated with Stocks Hall, St.Helens since it opened in 2008. At present, I cannot recommend it highly enough and the high standards practised there have kept clients safe throughout the pandemic. The care provided by the excellent staff is from the heart and clients live as part of one
big family in a real 'home from home'.

Excellent care provided for my brother since he had to go into the home with early-onset dementia. The atmosphere is welcoming, cheerful and warm with a family feel. Staff are cheerful and knowledgeable. They know their residents well.

Stocks Hall Care Home is excellent especially the Amethyst Unit. The staff on that unit go above and beyond their duties. My sister has been there for nearly 12 years and I am proud to call the staff in that unit my extended family. I know I can rely on them to take care of my sister and they are there
whenever I have needed them.

Richard

Richard Holtby

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2020

Richard has dedicated his career to helping others. At the age of 18, he started his journey in Health and Social Care as a carer working in his local community, moving up to senior carer, then to a care co-ordinator. He then moved on to Whiston Hospital, where he was a care assistant in the A&E department for 5 years. Here, Richard was inspired to undertake his nursing degree at Edge Hill University.


Upon qualifying, Richard went on to work at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and the Royal Liverpool Hospital for a few years before going back to his roots in Health and Social Care, working as a unit manager in a care home. Looking to progress, Richard was offered the deputy manager position at our St Helens home in 2020.


Richard also has close ties with the Royal College of Nursing which benefits not only his own managerial knowledge but also extends out to his staff as he has a strong focus on wellbeing and morale, in turn leading to better care practices.


In 2023, with the previous home manager Kelly moving our Mawdesley home, Richard made the natural and well-deserved progression to home manager.
