Job Title: Home Manager

Richard has dedicated his career to helping others. At the age of 18, he started his journey in Health and Social Care as a carer working in his local community, moving up to senior carer, then to a care co-ordinator. He then moved on to Whiston Hospital, where he was a care assistant in the A&E department for 5 years. Here, Richard was inspired to undertake his nursing degree at Edge Hill University.
Upon qualifying, Richard went on to work at Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital and the Royal Liverpool Hospital for a few years before going back to his roots in Health and Social Care, working as a unit manager in a care home. Looking to progress, Richard was offered the deputy manager position at our St Helens home in 2020.
Richard also has close ties with the Royal College of Nursing which benefits not only his own managerial knowledge but also extends out to his staff as he has a strong focus on wellbeing and morale, in turn leading to better care practices.
In 2023, with the previous home manager Kelly moving our Mawdesley home, Richard made the natural and well-deserved progression to home manager.
