With a team dedicated to enriching the lives of their residents, the quality of the person-centred care at Willow Gardens is what makes this home special. Some of the team have been there for over 10 years, giving it that warm, family feel.

The home is a hub of activity, from animal visits and crafts to gardening, where the residents grow their own fruit and vegetables in their mini allotment, harvesting them for the chef to use in the kitchen. There are regular pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages, and there is a hair salon for weekly appointments with the mobile hairdresser.

And the local community are truly embraced into life at Willow Gardens. The Prince’s Trust volunteers and local students are regular visitors, with residents invited to events at the local college, most recently being a Christmas meal.

Every week the residents visit the local cricket club, where they enjoy comedy, music and dance performances. And there are shopping trips to The Strand Shopping Centre, a stone’s throw from the home, as well as a weekly Holy Communion at the home itself.

There are also trips further afield, from the residents’ most popular destination, Chester Zoo, to Blackpool and the nearby safari park.

Loved ones are welcome at any time and often enjoy taking part in activities. And if they can’t be there in person, they can catch up with what the residents have been enjoying doing on the home’s private family and friends Facebook page.

In the dining room they enjoy delicious home-cooked meals prepared by the chef, with home baking for afternoon tea. The residents also provide feedback on the menu, so it’s shaped to them. They enjoy tasting sessions for the seasonal menus, as well as cocktail and mocktail making.

The home has recently had an impressive refurbishment, with some wonderful spaces for residents to enjoy, from the beautifully decorated bedrooms to the welcoming lounges.

During the lockdown, our Mum needed to be admitted in to a Nursing Home which was a difficult time for us all but was made so easy by the wonderful staff at Willow Gardens.
From day one, our Mum settled straight away and she is clearly very happy in there. This was a huge relief to us all, given that
our Mum is a fiercely independent individual and we dreaded how she would feel about going in to a Nursing Home but we needn't have worried. Willow Gardens offers everything you could wish for in a Nursing Home, with dedicated staff who go out of their way to make our Mum feel special, cared for, happy and comfortable. They are very committed to their jobs, even as far as getting personal visits from the chef, as she has special dietary requirements. They've done their best through these difficult times and I can only applaud them, especially the Manager who goes out of her way to ensure that your family member gets the best care, as we would all want for our loved ones.

When searching for a care/nursing home for our mum, this home ticked all the boxes we were looking for. It is very clean, the rooms are bright and a decent size. Both upstairs and downstairs lounges are bright and nicely furnished. Most of all, the home is welcoming and the staff are lovely. Nothing
is too much trouble and they are very patient and caring. The nurses are lovely and proficient and you can ring up anytime and ask how your family member is. I would recommend this home, without a doubt.

I can not thank the staff enough for the continuous exceptional care they have given my relative. During what has been a terrifying time, they have all gone above and beyond to make sure they were kept safe. I and other family members are extremely appreciative of the home being closed so quickly as
this has kept all residents safe.
They created a safe clean space for families to visit, and are always finding ways to help families visit when they can. As many have jobs with shift work, the staff have been very accommodating with dates and times.
Staff are always professional and have worked tirelessly to answer phones and give updates to families.
The home itself is always spotless.
I can't thank them enough for the excellent standards of care that have been continuously provided.
Through what has been a terrifying time for all, has been made easier through the dedication and professionalism of all staff. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Our mother was admitted to Willow Gardens last September 2019.
And gained a permanent place in January 2020.
The home itself is clean and tidy. And they have activities most days. Most of the staff are lovely, and will help you all they can,
Because of COVID-19, we couldn't see her till recently,
but that is very sparse. You have to book so far in advance, but that isn't suitable for myself and husband as we don't know our shifts from 1 week till the next. So only had one visit since the lockdown. We are both bus drivers before lockdown though we could visit most times (apart from meal times).
We would have loved to have had a video chat, they did ask us for our details but this never came off. Which we were disappointed with, as this would have been wonderful to chat with Mum.

Dad was well looked after from day number one. The room could do with an update though. Food was always hot and plentiful. The girls made him smile daily. Clothes always clean and ready for us. Overall we have no complaints regarding dads care, so from us all, we want to say a big thank you.

This home, when I visited it unannounced, is really lovely. No unpleasant smells, nice and fresh food and the kitchen lovely and clean. Staff are brilliant, very caring, friendly and accommodating. Managers are understanding and professional. The lounge is light-filled, very clean, loads of great activities.
Bedrooms, homely. Fresh, clean, caring home.

A very welcoming and professional environment.
All staff are friendly, polite and obviously care about the resident's welfare/wellbeing.
The home is very competently managed.
It is always clean and decor is exceptional.
Similar to many, I’m sure, initially Mum was adamant she did not want to be
there.
But from day one she has said repeatedly how wonderful the staff are.
“They’re just great” is what she always says.
Everybody there has played a huge part in her becoming comfortable and more and more used to living there.

I have been extremely impressed with the way in which Willow Gardens took care of my grandad, the staff were extremely friendly and played a big part in helping him to settle in quickly and calm his nerves.


The facilities were excellent, I almost wanted to move in with him!

My grandfather is a resident is Willow Gardens and I cannot praise the care home highly enough. He's well looked after and the staff are wonderful. It seems to be well run and his room is really comfortable. The company running Willow Gardens seem to be quite big but this doesn't mean the place isn't
homely. My grandad is really content there.

My sister resided at Willow Gardens, Bootle for more than ten years.
She was very happy there and it was very much her home. She felt safe and loved until the very end, she passed away in January 2018 aged 61.


Carers, nurses and all staff looked after her well. She was blind and so it was important

to her to feel safe.


Staff were always kind and the manager was very approachable in every way.
I cannot fault this care home and recommend it highly.

Since my last review, there have been big improvements made. The Regional Manager invited me and other relatives to a meeting with her and the Home Manager. All issues were discussed and an agreement made that my sister would be served food in a more caring manner and would be out of bed whenever possible
when food was served.
She would also be fed smaller more manageable portions.
She has also been transferred to a better room with more facilities. Personal hygiene matters were also discussed. A suitable Care Plan would be put in place which will involve more scrutiny of her medical conditions.
Monthly meetings have been introduced with relatives of residents to participate. It was agreed that a Fire Certificate would be displayed in a prominent position. I am now satisfied that under the new ownership Willow Gardens and View is now being run in a caring and professional manner. Most of the issues raised in my last review have now been resolved.
