Blair House Care Home prioritises independent lifestyle, while offering skilled and bespoke care to suit the needs of each resident.

Kind, experienced and understanding nurses and support staff have been recruited in order to live up to the home's fine community reputation. Staff respect residents' beliefs, values and customs and focus on empowering each individual as much as possible, whilst maintaining a 'family atmosphere'.

The home has been recognised for its environmental health performance and also takes pride in the quality of healthy home-cooked meals.

It is important that all residents are happy at Blair House, staff know how important activity is both physically and psychologically. The homes aim to provide well-being in the body and mind, motivating and developing opportunities for pleasure and enjoyment which is fundamental to human nature. To ensure activities are organised effectively there is a dedicated Activities Co-ordinator within the home who organises a full weekly programme of activities while always taking in to account the wants and needs of the people.

Staff were so lovely and kind my sister is very well looked after. She has been in Blair House for over a year. The manager is so kind and accommodating. Now my sister is on end-of-life care, we want her to stay in the care home where she is so well looked after.

I visited my brother at Blair House Care Home for the first time on Thursday, 18 August. The staff were warm, helpful, friendly, welcoming, caring, and numerous. My overall impression is that the staff all care sincerely for the residents. They were pleased to help me in any way and encouraged me to
visit as regularly as possible. I was so happy to see that my brother had settled into his new home so well. He likes his room and enjoys the food too. He seems so content and at home at Blair House and I feel so happy and satisfied that he will be well looked after there.

My brother was a resident here for decades before it got taken over by Venturi. Sadly he was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer last September. The staff at Blair House Care Home were amazing as they went above and beyond to ensure he got to stay in his home and didn’t have the anxiety of going into
a hospice. They cared for him right till the end with the help of district nurses and I saw how much they genuinely loved my brother in their care for him. They were also a great comfort and support to me, throughout this tragic time. The staff support residents to be as independent as possible with the right level of support for each resident. I got to know quite a few of the residents, who would tell me of all the trips they went on and parties that Blair House Care Home would lay on. I’ve also gotten to know quite a few of the staff and all of them are so caring and suited to their jobs. They have genuine bonds with the residents and because of that it feels like one big family.

My son went into Blair House in February 2017/2018 and I have visited him every week until the Covid and being a regular visitor I have found the staff extremely helpful and nothing is any trouble to them if I ring them for any reason they are very helpful and if it is to contact my son as I perhaps
couldn’t get him they will go and get him for me.
My son seems to like all the staff I never hear him complaining about anyone he is fairly quiet and keeps to himself but they too say he is very polite
Upon my visits before the Covid, I would go inside and sometimes would have my lunch there and upon observing the other residents I can see they seem happy and I chat to them on occasions.
Generally speaking due to my son having type 1 diabetes they monitor him very very well.

Thank you

My personal experience is that Blair House staff are the best. I have had experience in the care homes in Lancashire back to 2001. Not to be recommended to anyone due to ill-treatment. This is a new life for me.

It's very nice, very cosy and sociable. The food is great, I would like more choice and onion pie. I've told the chef and she will put more on the menu.
The building is nice. Plenty of room the staff are friendly, great, outstanding. They are best in the country.
