The exceptional staff are a stable team and many have been with the home for over 10 years. All staff are highly trained and believe in person-centred care for all residents.

An on-site chef designs and cooks beautiful home cooking. On arrival, staff will sit down with residents and their families to discuss likes/dislikes and preferences of food.

The home provides activities to stimulate physical and mental well being.

My mum lived at Barnston Court for six months. she was severely brain damaged and needed 24 hour care/nursing. All staff treated my mum fantastically. They keep her clean and treated her with dignity and respect at all times. I felt extremely comfortable leaving her after visit knowing she was being
cared for. Staff also treated myself and family very well.

My partner went into Barnston Court for end-of-life care. Although he was only in for 24 hours the care and attention he received was very good one carer sat with him through the night as his condition worsened. All staff were excellent and it is a comfort to me that he was cared for with respect and
dignity.

Our dad was cared for with the utmost respect and dignity which I would like to thank Barnston Court for personally. After a very short time there he passed away. The staff were wonderful and very caring.

Although he was only there for 24 hours, the dignity and respect were second to none for our (step) dad and our family. His end-of-life care was excellent and he was never in pain or uncomfortable. Rest assured if your loved one goes to Barnston Court Care Home they will receive A1 treatment.

The care he received when at Barnston Court Care Home was fantastic whilst looking after other residents. They also made sure we were all ok too, made us feel comfortable at all times - made us tea or coffee, kept popping in to make sure we were ok and especially the resident that was there for end-of-life
care. They were caring, respectful and very understanding.

The staff are friendly, they could be around more to see to mum's needs as she is bedbound.
The food is great, the room is tired-looking and needs redecorating.
Mum's left in dirty pads so sore underneath. not encouraged to use a bedpan.

My brother was very happy with the care he received at Barnston Court. He was treated with dignity at all times and was clean-shaven, clean and comfortable. He was the most comfortable he had been in a long time and thought of home and wanted to end his days here rather than go into hospital.

Mum was admitted via a fast-track discharge from the hospital at short notice, and as a family, we could not be happier as this was our first placement of choice. The care and support offered to our mum have been excellent, as stated. All the staff are caring and compassionate, and our mum has settled
well.

Mum has been living at Barnston Court since July 2021. She has been very well looked after and cared for by all the staff. All staff are extremely hard working and dedicated to the residents. The home is very well led by the manager and her team. The family are kept well informed, and nothing is too
much trouble. Mum has had a number of health-related issues whist she has lived at Barston Court, which have been dealt with quickly, efficiently and kindly, keeping us informed at all times. Throughout Covid, measures have always been in place to prevent cross infections. Family is very happy.

My Aunt has lived at Barnston Court Care Home for just over three and half years and I know she is very happy, safe and well cared for by a friendly dedicated team of staff. She has a lovely room and she tells me the food is excellent. My communication experience with the home is very good, I am contacted
if there are any concerns, and if I ring or message them, I always get a speedy response. Barnston Court seems to provide many different activities for the residents and they make super efforts for special events. Everyone went above and beyond to make my Aunt's 100th birthday last year and her 101st birthday last weekend wonderful and memorable occasions. I live quite a distance away so it is nice to feel reassured that my aunt is so well looked after, and in her own words, 'we couldn't have picked a better place for her to live'.

Always find everyone in the care home friendly and cheerful, always happy to help, not just my mum but myself included. I ask my mum every time I come and visit if she is happy with her care, and most importantly, safe, and her answer is always yes. Mum especially likes the night staff.

My mum has resided at Barnston Court for just over one year and she is looked after so well there. All the staff genuinely care for the residents and treat them with respect. I couldn't be happier with the level of love, support, care, thoughtfulness and the all-round desire to help each and every person
living at Barnston Court. All the staff are like a big family and this resonates with the residents too. I really cannot thank all who work here for looking after my mum, from the manager, support staff, chefs and cleaners, they are all amazing people. What you all do is fantastic.

Staff are kind and understanding of the family's concerns. We were worried about our mum, and our anxieties were met with understanding and kindness. Mum is well cared for in all ways, and we couldn't wish for a nicer group of people to leave her with.

Ann Nolan has several years of experience as a nurse and 30 years as a home manager. She has a BSc Hons in Gerontology and is a registered mental health and general nurse (the U.K. trained).


Ann's speciality is caring for fragile and older people. During her career, Ann has been a ward sister for the NHS, a home manager for nursing homes in the UK, and a care manager in Australia, where she also trained to be a practice nurse and worked for a rural surgery for one year.
