The standard of care and staff members are appalling, absolutely appalling. I have tried to email the manager and owner. They haven't got an updated email so can't send my complaint. Hopefully get a call back tomorrow! But I doubt it.

Thanks for your review. After investigation and review of surveillance I can conclude that while we aim to resolve any issues without the need to ask visitors to leave, unfortunately we are unable to allow visitors to vape in communal areas or allow them to cause staff to feel uncomfortable in their workplace. In these circumstances we must ask visitors to leave. We are sorry that in your short time visiting you felt this way. Please follow complaints procedure, as advised this can be emailed to ch.courtnursing@nhs.net. Kindest Regards

My sister was a resident for two months before she died in The Court, July 2020. In that time she was treated with all the care, dignity and respect a family could wish for. She’d had a pretty devastating time in the 4 months before, exacerbated inevitably by the COVID-19 pandemic, but within hours
of her becoming a resident at The Court, the family were reassured that she was in safe, caring and highly professional hands. Covid-19 presented many challenges but at every turn, staff endeavoured to make sure that my sister remained in touch with family, that we were kept fully informed of her care and treatment needs and that she was part of The Court's extended family. Much of the contact had to be via telephone, WhatsApp, Skype etc but leadership and teamwork were self-evident and I cannot praise the staff highly enough. Nothing seemed too much trouble for them. In the unprecedented times of Covid19, this distressing time was made more bearable by the love and compassion shown to us all.

My husband was admitted to the Court Nursing home in July after several months in hospital, myself and my family thought that at last, he was in the right place for his needs. Sadly, it was a very short stay only three weeks, mostly end of life care and I spent many hours with him.
The staff at
The Court were caring and compassionate. The senior staff were always ready to discuss his care and treatment with me and the carers were always ready with a cup of tea and a chat to ease me through.
His time in their care was made as comfortable and pain free as was possible.

I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff at The Court for all their kindness and care.

Thank you.

My sister was a resident of The Court for the last 5 months of her life. During the first three months or so she could sometimes be difficult, aggressive and often screamed. This, of course, was due to her illness. The staff at the home just couldn't have been more kind, compassionate or caring. She
was treated with all the dignity and respect that could have possibly been afforded to her. During the last ten days of her life, her daughter and I were with her all the time. Except to go home to rest at night. We witnessed at first hand what an amazing team of very special people run The Court Nursing home. Her primary carers deserve a special thank you. They know who they are. The rest of the staff including domestic staff, night staff, nursing and caring staff were exceptional. They all made this extremely distressing time as bearable and comforting as it could be. Huge thanks to one and all. I'll never be able to thank you enough.

  • a) The Average Rating is 1.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 0.0 out of 5 from 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 1.000 for The Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 1

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 0 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Court Nursing Home is based on 0 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) =

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 31 registered maximum number of service users is 6.2. 0 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.2 = 0

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
