Dundoran is a thirty-one bedroom care home in Birkenhead, owned by Newbloom Healthcare.

The team works hard to provide a safe and secure environment, making sure to meet the individual needs of service users, enabling them to maintain independence and dignity.

The bedrooms are well-furnished and tastefully decorated, and they work closely with their service users to make their room feel more like home, and encourage them to bring personal belongings, furnishings and pictures. They can accommodate couples and those requiring en-suite facilities. The home has numerous lounges, a lively dining room and a peaceful garden which is easily accessed.

The thoughts and opinions of service users are taken into account as much as possible within the running of the facility, who also have any particular needs assessed before becoming an occupant.

Dundoran care home provides a warm, friendly atmosphere for all residents. It is very homely and the staff are wonderful. They are kind, caring staff who put the needs of the residents first which is great to see. I would recommend this home to others in the same position as my husband and myself.

Dad lived at the nursing home from March this year until August, we cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness and care shown to our Dad throughout his time there. He was treated with dignity and was treated like part of a large family. It was like home from home when we visited he always had a
smile on his face. We cannot praise the staff enough for the treatment we were given when Dad sadly passed away in August.
We would highly recommend Dundoran if you are looking for somewhere where you want your family member to live.

I'm 101 years old and love where I am. I wouldn't move for any tea in China. I request to stay in my room which is decorated lovely and homely and I love to watch my tele. The view is excellent of the garden. The nurses are very good and always come to check on me. All the staff come in and speak to
me.

My mum has been a resident at Dundoran for the past four years. She has dementia and age related macular degeneration. When she arrived Mum was at a very low ebb. Over a short period of time, there was a great improvement due to the kindness and dedication of the staff. Living a long distance from the
Wirral, I am not able to visit as often as I would like to. When I do visit I find the staff welcoming. There is a feeling of warmth towards the residents and that their individual needs are known and met.
Activities are good and varied and Mum especially enjoys the lively and interactive poetry sessions. Mum's room always feels clean and fresh. Contact with management is excellent and I am frequently updated on any issues or concerns. I feel very reassured that such good care is being taken of mum.

A friend and I have been going into Dundoran for seven years now. We are volunteers who take a poetry session for an hour one afternoon every week. The Reader Organisation introduced us to the home and provided supervision and all the resources we needed at first, when that grant stopped we kept on
as volunteers because we enjoyed the sessions. The residents appreciated us (and the poems), the staff were welcoming, we met the same staff each week and we feel as if we make a genuine contribution to the life of the home.

My mother is resident here. She has dementia and was admitted from hospital for 'end of life' care. In her time here, she has shown huge improvement from her previous home, who declined her after her spell in hospital. Apart from one setback (a fall), she seems content in    
Dundoran. Whenever I visit,
she is always clean and well dressed (sometimes stays in bed). Staff are always pleasant, the manager is very professional, food always looks ok too.

My mum went to Dundoran after her previous home said they couldn't manage her because of a downturn in her ongoing dementia. Dundoran have been marvellous with her. Since arriving she looks cleaner, always nicely dressed and altogether seems more settled and a lot happier.
The staff seem to genuinely
care and like the residents and are so warm and caring towards my mum.
The staff will ring me if there are any problems with mum's health and are very proactive in giving and getting mum the best care possible.

This nursing home is a really nice friendly home. The staff are all kind and really great at their jobs. The home is clean and tidy. The rooms are nice and clean. The nurses are all fantastic. The management do a great job. The chef and kitchen staff do a fantastic job. The food is first class and they
do whatever they can to feed mum whatever she likes. I am so happy we found this home for my mum I doubt there would be a better one.

My husband had a massive stroke, heart attack and lost the use of his right side and has vascular dementia. This happened on the 5th November 2015. He was in hospital for eight weeks and slowly improved, i.e he was able to walk with aids, but very unstable. His dementia also seemed to be worse. Eventually
he was in an assessment ward and was discharged on Boxing day. I had found a care home Dundoran, as I am 84 and he is 87. I felt I would not be able to manage at home. It was a hard decision for me but I know I did the right thing as he is settling down, is eating well, and is walking with the aid of carers. I know he is getting well looked after. Excellent management and carers who take their job seriously. I made a good decision.
