All staff have been fantastic at The Grange in Heswall since my Stepfather was admitted several months ago. The manageress has been particularly helpful (and her Mum) who has been in regular contact in between our visits. Thank you for your ongoing help and support in making my stepdad comfortable under
the very difficult circumstances he finds himself in.

My mum is a resident in the Grange all the staff are excellent nothing is a problem for them my mum can be a problem sometimes and they all love her they are all very friendly and they allow me to take the dog in to see my mum in my opinion she couldn't get any better care anywhere else.

I just want to say how impressed I am with the care that my Dad is receiving at the Grange. He has been there since November last year and all the carers and manager are so helpful.
Both myself and my sister both don't live locally so it is good that dad is looked after well which takes away the worry
from us both.

My mum has been in The Grange since December 2023. The staff are all amazing, nothing too much trouble, they are caring, compassionate and go out of their way on a daily basis. My mum is safe, warm, well fed and every need is attended to. We are so happy that we found them, it is home from home with
people who show they care for her when we cannot. Truly professional every single one of them.

Friendly and supportive staff who try to care for the overall welfare of residents. The home's nursing manager is professional and approachable, looking after the best interests of all residents and coordinating their medical care. Plus, liaising with their relations and her staff, all of whom work
together efficiently. Activities for residents are organised by a dedicated member of staff. Close to shops in the centre of Heswall Wirral. Well managed and interior rooms neatly redecorated. Many thanks.

At the core are wonderful staff who take care of Mum so well. They are attentive, engage with the residents and always have a smile. You instinctively know that the staff take an interest in the welfare of the residents.
Whenever I visit or call, the manager is always available to talk to and discuss
how Mum is doing.

Initially, I was nervous about any care home setting, but those feelings disappeared when I came here. The staff are professional, but friendly, kind and dedicated to their work. Personal care is taken seriously, and done regularly to ensure that potential skin problems are avoided. Occasionally, I
attend hospital appointments, and when I return here I am assured of a warm welcome. My room is comfortable, kept clean, tidy and it's good to have one or two favourite pictures on the wall. The food is varied and sufficient (I enjoy my meals!), but the correct amount for someone like myself with mobility problems. I always feel relaxed in the congenial atmosphere, and in my view, this is because all those who work here are indeed special people.

Staff are friendly whenever we visit my mum. She seems to be settling in quite well so far. She has dementia which affects her memory and moods quite badly but she has been happy and pleasant whenever we visit.
On the downside, due to the nature of the home and it's residents, there aren't many people
who my mum can have full conversations with so hopefully the staff will keep her mind going.

Always feel welcome, the home is always clean and tidy. My friend is very happy and settled. He's always tidy, well fed and looked after. Any problems I find them really easy to talk to. The manager is very helpful.

I can’t express enough how my mother is made to feel a part of the family rather than a resident at this home. I always attend unannounced and have heard her laughing and chatting in her room with the staff. They are very respectful and always take the time to check she is happy. They have always communicated
with the utmost discretion with me if they have had concerns about my mother’s wellbeing. Special mention has to be made about the meals served. I’ve been told they are always tasty and my mum is often offered seconds which is proof of how good they are. I can’t fault the staff there at all as they do genuinely care and are always approachable. Would love to name some individuals but they are all lovely genuine friendly people and very welcoming to visitors. The Christmas party was brilliant too.

All the staff at the Grange Nursing Home are welcoming, pleasant, friendly and hard working.
My dad (eighty-eight) gets on well with all the staff and I feel that his demeanour has improved now that he is receiving the care he needs.
I know that the care home has struggled with staff vacancies, as
has the whole care sector but the staff have stepped up to maintain the care levels.
The Grange has a new entertainments organiser and I can see that my dad enjoys taking part in the activities and appreciates the efforts made.
The Grange is currently having refurbishments done which I am sure will give it a fresh look.
The Grange has a social media page which keeps me up to date on days I cannot get to visit.

It is with some regret that my husband has had to be transferred to another nursing home due to his deteriorating illness. His 3-year stay has been a struggle for him but the staff have been continually caring and compassionate and I cannot thank them all enough.
The home has recently been taken over
by a new manageress, who has worked there for a number of years, and I have found her to be very helpful and wish her well in her new role.

This is one amazing care home, they go above and beyond for the residents and it is so lovely to see when visiting!
The manager is so helpful with everything that needed to be done, a very approachable manner!
The care staff - wow! The things they have had to do and more are just incredible, I wouldn't
want my friend to be anywhere else but in their care!
This care home is fantastic and I could not recommend it anymore if I tried.

This is a lovely place, the manager was so understanding and goes out of her way to make sure all needs are met. This home has a lovely feel of home from home and the manager takes every opportunity to greet and speak with you during your visits and will always phone with any updates or news. Her nursing
skills are impeccable, she makes every single person feel cared for and loved in every way possible. Her due diligence towards these lovely people keeps them all safe and well. I feel totally confident in the manager and her staff and thank them for what they do on a daily basis. What a lovely place to live with fantastic support in all care aspects. I visit my sister regularly and always find the home clean, and the staff are lovely and caring. My sister is cared for very well and is very happy living at the Grange. The new manager is very approachable and always keeps me up to date when necessary.

Covid obviously had an impact, but my dear friend of 20 or so years was in a small room at the end of an upstairs corridor. No one was passing. She was frail but very outgoing and loved people. She became very unhappy and wouldn't eat her food which was sloppy and pureed. She wanted to be moved and
was transferred to another nursing home. She has a small room that looks out onto the garden. People passing and her food, though soft, is presented in an appetising way. She is eating better and has gained weight. The issues she had at Grange have been resolved. She is brighter, and happier and we who love her are so relieved.

My mother was moved from the hospital to this home in August 21. She was 96 and blind. The room was small and never a chair for visitors. I can only describe the home as old and rundown. No maintenance outside. Very often cigarette ash on steps outside is very rarely brushed away. Slapdash system of
signing in. Very often no temp was taken and walking upstairs didn’t seem any control. During the few lockdowns would ring up but not always got a callback. Every item of my mother’s clothing was labeled incl all her socks. Bought several throws but she never had her own around her.
My mother passed away in April as they were still in lockdown was told via a phone call. I have to this day not had any contact with the home. They didn’t contact me regarding her clothes and a small radio. I wrote to them recently advising them to keep her things and donate the radio.
I would point out that the carers and nursing staff always seemed to care for my mother. Can’t say the same for management!

My mother was in Grange nursing home for some weeks. Mum is 91 years old and struggling with severe mobility issues. Some nursing staff were kind and tried to help and care for mum. Other staff were at times harsh and one particular member of staff said to mum that nobody liked her, which is so unprofessional.
Mum was in a small often cold room without an ensuite. She needed help to use the commode which was often full; and at times would literally be sitting in her own urine, which caused a severe infection, and had to go into hospital. Mum would often push the buzzer and would have to wait for long periods of time before anyone came to help. When the staff did come some would say "You're not the only one needing help" telling mum how short-staffed the home was. The food wasn't suitable either and mum often experienced diarrhoea because they gave her too many laxatives rather than a suitable diet to prevent constipation. I am now relieved she is no longer there.

My Mother-in-Law is in the home now. Her very small room has no ensuite and this week she had to endure sitting in her own urine on the commode. She regularly presses the buzzer for help but help takes ages to come and often does not come. She is desperately unhappy, sometimes gets shouted at by carers,
and has been told by one of them that nobody likes her. Every failure, in the home, is excused by there not being enough staff, which I'm sure is true, but is not good enough. My Mother-in-Law is in utter despair, frightened and desperate. Some staff is kind to her but many are not. As a family, we feel that to complain too much will invite retribution and vindictiveness.
