Built in 1857, Manor House is a listed building that has recently (Feb 23) been modernised and refurbished to a high standard across a number of units. The home has retained many of its original features, including an oak-panelled entrance hall and decorative ceilings. Many of the large bedrooms have views over the extensive grounds and have ensuite facilities.

Staff at The Manor House deliver high-quality care in a respectful and professional manner. The home provides a full range of care for older people including nursing, residential and dementia care for short or long term needs.

Residents can enjoy a seasonal daily menu which has been made using fresh ingredients. Annual special occasions are celebrated with themed meals throughout the year and residents are served a slice of homemade birthday cake on their special day.

Residents are encouraged to carry on with their favourite pastimes and hobbies and organised activities include keep fit, art, knitting and sewing.

My aunt was a resident at the Manor House for 8 weeks. She sadly passed away yesterday evening. The night staff on duty on the Inman Wing were absolutely fantastic. They showed my aunt the upmost respect and were compassionate to the end. They treated her with dignity and care for which we are very
grateful. The staff at the Manor House were wonderful throughout her stay and in particular we would like to thank nine members of staff for their professionalism, care, and compassion. The Manor House itself is a fantastic care facility set in beautiful grounds. The Manor House is clean and welcoming and the staff are very friendly and approachable. Relatives are not just welcome to visit at any time, they are also made to feel welcome. The Inman Wing feels more like a hotel than a care home and is not clinical in any way. We are glad that we chose The Manor House to care for my aunt.

I was entirely happy with my brother's stay at the care home at all times he was treated with the utmost dignity and respect and nothing was too much trouble. The care he received was exemplary, as was the empathy afforded to me.

I decided upon respite care at The Manor as it would have been impossible to be at home after decompression surgery at the Waldon Centre. The nursing care was very good and general assistance also very good. I was helped to become more independent by all members of staff and enjoyed walking in the grounds
and spending time with residents. The negative side would be the lack of choice where food was concerned. Mince on one of the hottest days. I would have loved a healthy salad with new potatoes and cold meat, but thank you.

I was really worried about placing my dad in residential care. However, The Manor House Care Home is superb, we have no concerns about any aspect. My dad is settled and happy, we never worry about leaving him. The staff are always kind and welcoming.

My wife was admitted to The Manor House Care Home at the end of March due to an advanced cancer diagnosis, which meant that she could not be cared for at home. Since her arrival, the level of care and attention she has received from the nurses, carers and management has been second to none. I would
highly recommend anybody looking for care home residency to look at The Manor House Care Home before anywhere else.

My father received excellent care. The staff made him and myself feel that we were part of The Manor family. Nothing was too much trouble. The thoughtfulness and attention to detail were excellent. An example was when my father had to lie on his side. The bed was pulled away from the wall and a table
and chair were placed there in anticipation of my morning visit, little things mean so much to anxious relatives. Well done!

There is a wonderful, friendly attitude from the staff and Mum feels safe and well cared for. There is attention to detail to support Mum's needs and lots of gentle encouragement. Good communication with relatives.

I can't put into words how wonderful all the staff at The Manor are. They treated my Dad with kindness and dignity to the end, even the dog is amazing and gave my Dad great comfort. I will be forever grateful to all the staff at The Manor.

It was my first visit to The Manor House Care Home today, and I was very impressed. The building is amazing and spotlessly clean. I was taken by a staff member to where my friend was waiting for me. My friend was very happy and very well cared for. I have visited many care homes in my time and this

The Manor House Care Home was the home of my aunt for nine years. During that time, the staff have gone out of their way to be kind and caring to her. They got to know her likes and dislikes, her idiosyncrasies. They treated her with love and respect at all times. I have absolutely no hesitation in

Care is excellent, Dad is very happy here, the level of nursing has been amazing and Dad enjoys being here. A few more male activities would be good and something maybe to look at but overall as a family we are extremely happy with everything.

I cannot praise the staff at The Manor enough. They have handled the last two years with humour, kindness and incredible professionalism. They have looked after my mother to the highest standards with genuine affection and empathy. The accommodation is spotless and the standard of catering is superb.
The manager and staff have navigated the difficult times we have been through and continued to put residents' safety and comfort first.

Apart from a period of lockdown, I have visited my wife for the past four months. The Manor has become a home to me. The staff and management in all departments, have always treated me with respect and friendliness. The lockdowns have been an ordeal for my wife who feels rightly, blameless. A couple
of observations I would like to make are that a few carers are less discreet when speaking about a resident's physical needs rather loudly. Also a little more assistance at mealtimes for those who are confined to bed.

My dad came to reside in The Manor House Care Home aged 98 after living independently in his own home until he passed away at the age of 100. He made many new friends at The Manor and gained a new lease of life, with caring, engaging carers who took a 100% interest in him and made his last few years
so happy. Their engagement with us, Dad's family, made them part of our family too and we can't thank them enough for everything they did.

My mum went to The Manor House for three weeks of respite care while my wife and I were on holiday. All contact I had with staff beforehand and after was very good, and every member I met had a smile and a pleasant greeting. During my mums stay, my brother and my two sons visited, and all were very
happy with my mums care. My mum spoke highly of the staff and the food.

I have nothing but high praise for the carers, nurses, management, and all who work at The Manor House, they do a truly amazing job at the best of times but has been made very difficult these last 16 months. And now that we can at least get in for room visits it is nice to be able to interact with everyone

I joined The Manor House in May 2021 after taking a break from work to raise my family. Prior to working here, I have worked in events and ran my own business.


This is my first role in the care sector and certainly my most rewarding one! I love forming relationships with our residents. It's wonderful encouraging them to try new things, and working within the community.


I live locally with my partner, son, and cat. I enjoy reading, nature and spending time with my family.
