The staff were excellent when mum had a fall and needed to go to hopsital. They contacted me instantly. Staff keep me informed on everything about my mum and look after her well.

Warm, friendly atmosphere at Park House Care Home. Staff are helpful and friendly. The only negative comment I can make is the overwhelming odour of food in the corridor.

The staff in Park House are excellent, they can't do enough for my mom, the food is very poor and have to bring in staff for mum all the time.

My father has been so well looked after in Dandhills Unit, Park House.
I cannot thank senior care assistant and her staff more for their kindness and caring. Much appreciated. Thank you all.

My husband has now spent several months in Park House. The staff and standard of care are excellent. All grade of staff are obliging and cannot do enough to help their residents and families.
My only complaint is the excessive heat in the home, especially in the summer months. Ventilation is poor and
there is no air conditioning.

I am very pleased to share our views on Park. My mum is happy in her world and is well looked after by nurses, carers and management. If the need arose, they know how to deal with mum, for example, I was a little scared of mum the other day, I called for help and two carers came and mum instantly calmed
down. They were gentle and caring much to my relief! I'm in throughout some mealtimes and the carers cater to all the resident's needs and if my mum's fussy or gone very fussy, the kitchen staff are very good as are the cleaners. They keep it nice and clean around the home.

This care home is brilliant. My husband has been here 3 years, the girls are brilliant with him. He is well taken care of by all the staff even the cleaner. I can go away for a couple of days and I know I don't have to worry about him.

My Mother-in-Law has been in the home for just over a year now. I visit her twice a week and am always amazed at how much love and compassion is shown by the staff. They are collectively an amazing group of caring people. I have never seen anyone being anything other than caring and patient with all
the residents. It must be such a difficult job but the staff always give 110% to every task they are challenged with.

I am happy with every aspect of mums care. All the staff, nursing and carers, cleaners, maintenance and management are extremely caring and professional in every way. Mum is happy with the staff who look after her and she responds to them well. We know mum on occasion doesn't sleep, but the staff make
these moments enjoyable as she drinks tea and happily chats with them as she thinks she is working there. We leave mum knowing she is well looked after even the times she is distressed and wants to go home. It's tough but we know she is well cared for. Thank You

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.622)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.622) out of 10 for Park House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.462 for Park House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (64 Excellents x 5) + (28 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (1 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.462

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.16 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park House Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 111 registered maximum number of service users is 22.2. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 22.2 = 0.36

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have been a qualified nurse since 1987 and after NHS have managed care homes since 2012. I love the role as it brings me closer to residents and families and means we can deliver excellent care in a homely environment. I enjoy travelling and am brave enough now to travel alone, I love music, theatre and concerts. My daughter Laura is now following in my footsteps and is a qualified children's nurse in London! My dog Dixie, like a second child, keeps me busy!
