From our initial enquiry right up to our last contact every member of the Red Rocks staff demonstrated exceptional care, efficiency and action and proved to us over the time they cared for my Father that they really are exemplary. With sensitivity, kindness and constant attention to every medical as
well as physical need they more than demonstrated they are a true example of what a Nursing Home should be. Any relative can rest assured that their loved one will be treated with respect and dignity and competence in the cleanest atmosphere. Many thanks to everyone!

My mother of 102 years spent the last three years of her life at Red Rocks Nursing Home. Prior to Red Rocks Nursing Home, she lived alone and was very independent. The staff at Red Rocks Nursing Home were excellent at adapting her care to her needs and she quickly considered Red Rocks Nursing Home to
be her home. As a retired doctor, I was extremely impressed by the team spirit and cheerful and friendly attitude of all the staff. I am sure this is due to the example set by the leadership team. There are regular activities for the residents. The medical care was of a very high standard and there are regular visits by local GPs and any significant findings were communicated speedily. The cleanliness and hygiene of the establishment are of a very high standard. As a doctor, I visited a number of nursing homes and very few meet the high standards set by Red Rocks Nursing Home. I would not have wished my mother to be anywhere else. The family atmosphere and the genuine affection shown by staff to the residents is very reassuring to visiting relatives and friends.

I am a fairly new resident here, having moved in at the beginning of the month. I have found that the staff are very nice and helpful and Red Rocks is very homely.

I met the owner who made me feel most welcome.

The food is exceptional, especially the beef gravy! The home is always kept very clean.

I

feel happy and safe.

Red Rocks provided end of life care for my Father.

It provided huge solace to the family to know that Dad was being looked after by such caring and friendly staff.
The home is run in a very professional manner and this leadership filters down to all the staff.

Dad was provided with all the care

he needed, whilst the staff maintained his privacy and dignity.

The home itself is spotlessly clean and well maintained, and the location cannot be faulted.

It is the staff that makes the place, happy and engaged with their work and the residents.

The family will miss the staff.

From my initial contract with the proprietor to the last day of my fathers stay, I have received nothing but professionalism and kindness.
A home visit from senior staff took place and when we arrived these staff welcomed us making the process less traumatic and a little easier on all concerned.
During
his stay my father was treated with dignity, kindness and positive care and whilst he looked forward to returning home, he said he had really enjoyed his stay at Red Rocks.
I can confirm that each day when I visited, the staff welcomed me and I saw only continued improvement in my father's wellbeing and I attribute this to the staff and environment of Red Rocks.
I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment if you are looking for exceptional care, cleanliness, good food and kindness.

From the moment my husband arrived at Red Rocks for end of life care it was obvious he was somewhere special. The staff made him welcome and were anxious to ensure his every need was met. As his condition deteriorated the nursing care he received was exceptional and every effort was made to ensure
he was comfortable and pain free. The caring staff at all levels also took the time to look after myself and the family as we sat with my husband. We could not thank the staff enough for how they helped us all through a very stressful time.

On visiting Red Rocks it's clear to see why it is so respected - wonderful views, beautiful premises and friendly staff. But the more time you spend there, the more you can truly appreciate how exceptional it is. The level of care is outstanding, from the delicious food to the nursing care. I have
never come across such wonderful nursing and I will always be grateful that my father was cared for so well at Red Rocks. Nothing is too much trouble, and the staff not only deal with the residents with absolute respect and compassion but the visitors too.

Red Rocks has been family-run for many years and the atmosphere reflects this. The staff are friendly, helpful and conscientious and the residents seem very appreciative. The owner/manager is proactive and liaises well with hospitals and outside bodies. There are useful links with the local community.
The home is in a beautiful setting with extraordinary views across the Dee estuary.

My father has now been a resident of this home for just over 9 months and during his time there, he has settled in very well. The home is in an unrivalled location with wonderful views towards Hilbre, the Dee Estuary and North Wales beyond. There is a lovely garden with a patio area which the residents
are able to use in the summer, shaded from the sun by a large parasol. The staff are, without exception in my view, well trained and well led, and have a good relationship with the residents, and they work hard to make visitors welcome. Most importantly, I continue to be very impressed and comforted by the level of care received by my father. Food quality is always high, with tasty and nutritious meals and snacks being served to residents. There is a diverse activities programme, and special meals are a regular feature, celebrating (for example) Halloween and Valentine's Day. My family and I are so pleased that my father is resident at Red Rocks.

My father has been resident at Red Rocks since early summer 2016, and, throughout this time the care has been outstanding. The home had been highly recommended to us by the family of a previous resident, and indeed a friend who has worked in both nursing and the care home industry.
The staff demonstrate
extremely high levels of care and attention at all times, but most importantly offer friendship and companionship to those within their care, and always make all visitors immediately welcome.
Any medical issues are attended to promptly and any areas of concern are actively discussed with appropriate family members.
The facilities are excellent, and Red Rocks feels more like a country house hotel than a nursing home. Every attention is made to ensuring the long-term comfort of all residents.

The emphasis on the home page of the website on Red Rocks being a family-run nursing home is borne out in the day-to-day care that I have now been seeing for several years. The atmosphere is very friendly and staff have taken extra time other than in routine room visits to use photographs and other
memorabilia to keep my aunt in good spirits. The rapport they have with her is heartwarming as well as reassuring. The managing staff pay great attention to detail regarding medical care and never fail to keep me promptly informed.

My father in law was a resident of the home for a three months last year. We could not have chosen a better provider.
The home was spotless, the food was wonderful but most of all the care given by the staff was out of this world. Nothing was too much trouble, every member of staff was totally professional
and carried out their duties amazingly well. The medical care received towards the end was so well handled and compassionate.

My Dad self-admitted himself to Red Rocks when he realized that he could no longer care for himself. Initially, as we are 5,500 miles away, we were very concerned when we heard the news. We need not have been though. Right out the gate we got an email from the Manager at Red Rocks and a visit to
their website and a brief phone call allayed all our concerns. Following up with the nurses looking after Dad was great and they were very happy to talk to us and explain their care plan. It was very clear to us after being able to physically visit, and having heard many personal testimonies from Dad's visitors that his last days were in the best possible hands.

A Wonderful place with great people - thank you for all that you did.

Paul

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.208)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.208) out of 10 for Red Rocks Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Red Rocks Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (48 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.208 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Red Rocks Nursing Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.8 = 0.833

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
