Thank you for your review. We would like to reassure you that the home is always staffed to the required level to meet the needs of all Residents. As you are aware, we have been unable to recruit permanent nurses into the home. As a result, the home has been using agency nurses to cover shifts. Whilst the agency nurses are very good, there are clearly issues in terms of consistency of care that changing personnel can provide to our Residents as they don't always know the nurses well enough and vice versa and we believe this may compromise quality and continuity of care, which is what you allude to in your review. As a result, we have taken the difficult decision to end the nursing care provision the home provides. We know how upsetting this is for our Residents who have nursing needs and we are working closely with families, like yourself, to support them find suitable nursing homes locally. The home will continue to provide placements for Residents with social and personal care needs.

Clare is the Home Manager at Riversdale Care Home with several years of care experience. Her main interest and experience are in managing successful care homes housing elderly and frail Residents, some of whom have mental health issues.
