Our experience of Westhaven has been excellent. The staff are superb, professional but also caring and approachable. This attitude stems from the management, matron and deputy and it percolates throughout the organisation. My dad has been really well cared for, and happy at Westhaven.

I would like to thank everyone for the excellent, compassionate care that was provided for my mum at Westhaven. She was treated with respect and sensitivity by the kind and caring staff. We as a family could not be more thankful for your help and support. We were always made welcome when we came to
visit mum and were kept well informed of any changes in her health. Mum could not have been in a better nursing home and we will never forget the wonderful staff who do such an amazing job.

My mum is currently in Westhaven Care home after coming out of the hospital with a terminal illness. I was worried about mum going into care and whether she would settle, but I needn't of worried at all. After being recommended Westhaven, I went along to have a look and was welcomed very warmly by the
matron and shown around. My first impressions were very positive, and Mum has been there now for nearly four months; she is very happy there, the staff go above and beyond, there is always something going on in the lounge for all the residents, and the staff encourages everyone to join in.
Everyone seems approachable and friendly, and above all, they all really care for their residents; they keep us up to date with everything regarding Mum, and she has formed really good bonds with them all.
Food is great, there is always a choice of meals, and Mum's appetite has increased so much since she's been there.
I cannot recommend Westhaven enough.
Well done, to all at Westhaven.

The manager and all the staff at Westhaven Nursing Home have provided excellent care for my mother, they showed great kindness and support as her health deteriorated over the years. The environment is modern, welcoming, very clean and maintained to a high standard.
I have no hesitation in recommending
Westhaven as an exemplary care home.

My mother was a resident from May 2021 until her death in May 2022. Westhaven was the ideal home for her, always a clean, caring and well-maintained environment. The care teams were always lovely and obviously cared for the residents deeply. The cleaning, catering and management teams also could not
be praised enough.

The staff at Westhaven provided excellent end-of-life care for my father. The care assistants were always polite and responsive.

The staff were always helpful and compassionate to Mum. Her personal care was very good and the room was always clean and tidy. We always found the management and staff approachable and willing to address any personal worries Mum had. Totally confident in the level of care of all staff. Mum felt safe

Could not fault the care and attention given to my parents as we all negotiated the move from home to care home.
Although both of my parents are still adjusting to this seismic shift in their circumstances, all the staff have gone way above the "call of duty" to ensure that they are happy and cared
for.
Although there are some "niggles", I am more than happy with the care they are receiving.

Mum arrived at Westhaven Nursing and Residential Home with an irreparable bilateral break in November 2018; she was 91. We were told she was unlikely to survive more than a few months. Westhaven Nursing and Residential Home took her under their wing and cared for her. Through constant attention (nursing),
a good diet and kindness, Mum thrived. Whenever I visited her, she was always clean, dressed and comfortable. You can tell a good care home when you walk through the door, no smell and a happy atmosphere - try it.

My father was admitted to Westhaven on Tuesday 17th May. He was in poor health having had a serious chest infection and heart fibrillation and he needed 24-hour nursing care. Following a change in his medication and excellent nursing care, he will return home on Monday 13th of June. He was well looked
after and the staff were very helpful, especially the matron, nurses and handyman.

My mother-in-law has been in Westhaven now for several months. She has struggled to adapt with her health problems and moving into a care home. All the staff from the management to the carers have been so supportive and understanding with her, and we have seen how relaxed she is with them. We feel reassured
my mother-in-law is in a safe and loving care home that meets her needs well.

Kindness and concern shown to a resident with increasing dementia over a five-year stay. Initially, great flexibility in visiting was modified by meticulous insistence on safeguarding rules during the Covid period. He seemed as content as he could be given that he was a severely disabled man, especially
towards the end.

The staff at Westhaven provided an outstanding level of care from my mother in the last year of her life. She was considerately and thoughtfully looked after and given individual support to live as she wanted to. When she injured herself in a fall, the staff, including the senior managers, went beyond
their responsibilities to ensure she was kept safe and reassured until the ambulance came. Really good care home.

This home is the definition of compassion. All the staff care beautifully for the residents and show concern for families. They provide residents with a friendly, safe space and ensure dignified and personalised care for each resident. The staff take their time to ensure each resident is well fed and
always clean. At end of life, they care deeply for the resident and family. The whole team should be commended as a beacon of excellence.

West Haven Nursing Home is a very comfortable home with excellent facilities, the staff are very caring and the food is exceptional. It is run to a very high standard and my mother-in-law and father-in-law were very happy there.

Ratio of staff to residents on occasions makes it difficult for the staff to spend time "socialising" with residents and to offer outside activities during this recent spell of good weather. In particular for the residents with limited mobility who would benefit greatly from the vivid and mental stimulus.

Thank you so much for your kind review our staff and management will always take time out to read our reviews and where necessary take comments on board to improve the service that we provide to our residents, however it can be difficult finding activities that meet each and every individual's unique needs. We endeavour to gather as much information from sources available as to hobbies and interests and aim to provide a variety of activities and all residents are invited to participate. All our outdoor activities are being provided currently in line with Covid restrictions and procedures. We have a courtyard which is widely used by residents to sit and enjoy the sun and a garden area at the rear which can also be utilised.
