My grandad went into care last year and it was not easy for us watching him go from an independent able man to being reliant on others, its heartbreaking.
I am happy with the home chosen for grandad, I feel the staff are friendly and care for my grandad. My biggest fear is him not being looked after.
It would be nice to see the home have a refurbishment to make it homely, although I see changes have been made already, which is great.
I feel grandad is fed well and I love the different events the home holds and are offered.
Overall, I'm happy with the way grandad is cared for, it would be great to see him being kept as mobile as possible.

Maintaining our resident's independence is a key priority of ours although, the advancement of certain medical conditions can have an impact; the nursing team are available to discuss this aspect of Grandads care with you.


I hope you have noticed that new carpets are in the process of being fitted in all of the corridors and lounges and we have also recently renewed the lighting. We take great pride in the way we present our home and gardens and our rolling programme of refurbishment is designed to maintain a homely environment within our busy care home."

I moved my mother to Hollymere House Care Home because I was not happy with the care she was receiving at another care home and I have made the correct decision. Hollymere House Care Home is wonderful for my mother. She arrived at Hollymere House Care Home in a poor state and very unsure and frightened.
Now she is happy and well cared for in every way. The manager helped and advised me how best to support my mother in her twilight years and the team he has are all very caring, very hardworking and respect each other and each and every one in their care. All the team sing from the same hymn sheet and give my mother excellent care and now I have peace of mind to know she is cared for to a high standard.

We have been visiting Hollymere for over twelve months and have seen excellent care and support for our relative. The help, advice and support we have received have exceeded our expectations. This includes the catering, laundry and cleaning staff. Also, the night staff who we feel sometimes get forgotten.
The manager is very approachable and has given us advice on many occasions that has helped us understand the care of our relative. All aspects of care have been discussed with us and if we have had alternative suggestions these have been listened to and actioned upon where appropriate. The end of life care was undertaken with dignity by all concerned and we felt reassured by the calm and caring nature of this.
The home is currently undergoing refurbishment but this does not detract from the excellent care given.
We would recommend this home to any potential resident or relative, this is a big decision and we never regretted ours. A visit to the home is a must for reassurance.

Moving into a nursing home was very stressful and for the first 10 days, I wanted to go back home.
However, after this initial period, I got to know the staff and my surroundings.
Now I feel very happy and safe and I have settled down, I cannot fault the staff.
They are caring and treat me with dignity
and respect.

After spending end of 2016 in two other homes, Hollymere House was a vast improvement. It is purpose built with ensuite bathroom. The most important point is the staff are properly trained and supervised to treat residents very well. The food is cooked on site and is delicious. Every effort is made
to improve residents welfare. Management is effective and excellent.

My father moved to this home from his previous care home due to his needs changing. The whole package is brilliant, staff are friendly and have time for you no matter how busy they are. The care and support my father is given is fantastic.
The home is welcoming happy and bright whenever I visit. I
live away from the area and am comforted by the care and respect the home gives.

Mum became a resident at Hollymere House in January 2016.
She was suffering from anxiety and was very demanding. The staff were very patient.
Over the weeks she became calmer with the overall care she received.
When Dad died the staff and manager were so kind and supportive.
She had a lovely Christmas,
even went to the pantomime.
When a month later her health deteriorated the level of care was a great comfort to me and the whole family.
She was treated with great kindness.
In her last week, she was taken to hospital but all she wanted was her bed in Hollymere House, where she returned and passed away with the people she trusted and loved.
I would highly recommend Hollymere House.

Mum had to move rooms due to her room being upgraded. Mum had the option of staying in the other room which I thought might be a bit traumatic as it might not have been as familiar but we said yes, as it was a slightly different layout which we liked.
Happy to say all went well - the staff who undertook
the move were great we were over the moon with the result to see all mum's pictures arranged on the wall, a new shelf in place with her bits and bobs, wardrobe full of her personal things - all of which I was expecting to have to do, especially picture hanging and clothes. Hats off to the staff and thank you.

An absolutely wonderful care home.
The staff are wonderful, very friendly and made my Nan feel very comfortable in the last few months of her life.
Hollymere House Care Home is kept pristine at all times, the food is brilliant and the staff made us feel very welcome at all times.

I have never experienced such a friendly, caring management and staff in any other care home I have visited. I am extremely pleased that she was moved into Hollymere House Care Home and not kept in hospital as the care and support would be nothing like she receives here.

My aunt was a resident of Hollymere House for a brief time after coming out of hospital and before she died. Prior to admission, I thought her needs were at the forefront of our discussions. She and I were treated with consideration and kindness. My aunt had numerous, serious medical conditions and
required help with all her personal care needs, this was provided with gentleness and good humour. At the end of my aunt's life, we were given support, events were explained to me with care, professionalism and kindness.

The location of the home is very convenient, close to the doctor's surgery/pharmacy and pleasantly situated. Overall it provided good care, accommodation and nourishing food. It appeared to be well run and administered efficiently. The availability of 24hour care gave us peace of mind for my ageing

My father's care at Hollymere up to date has been very good. He is being well looked after and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is excellent and enjoy's his afternoon treat eg sweets, strawberries and cream cakes. My only constructive feedback is that there is a strong odour when
walking through the central corridor to the resident's lounge, but this is probably caused by the close proximity of the resident's bedroom.

The staff work very very hard, people do not realise what goes on behind the scenes, say for instance residents pick a tummy bug up, there's double the work unless you see for yourself you don't appreciate what they do. I assist at meal times most residents need help with their individual needs. Residents
can be very demanding and I think the staff handle it well. The staff get things the residents ask for in their own time e.g. toiletries. The food always looks appetising and always presented well. We have a new manager who thanks the staff for their hard work and is very approachable.
