Situated a stone’s throw away from Alderley Edge, Brookview welcomes those with nursing, residential and respite needs, and also offers early stages residential dementia, convalescence and palliative care.

Significant investment has made Brookview a luxury home, with luxurious fixtures and fittings including an ensuite in all bedrooms, stylish furniture and a brand new annex to the main building. There are day lounges on all floors and views of mature gardens, wooded areas and raised flower beds.

There’s a real sense of community at the home. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests. So whether your loved one already has a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in. Anyone is welcome to pop in and join in, whether you’re a friend, relative or loved one.

Very good all-round experience. Flexible, 24-hour car from excellent teams. Food is fresh and varied. Activities varied to suit a wide range of clients. A very positive team that does more than the job description.

We cannot speak too highly of the care and professionalism displayed by the Brookview staff in looking after our 92-year-old father, who is in the last few days of his life. From the exceptional head nurse, through to all the medical, support and administrative staff, we have had first-class support
and my father has had excellent care. At this highly emotional stage, we cannot thank you all enough.

Brookview is full of caring and friendly staff, nurses, carers catering and admin. Everyone is lovely. They always keep Dad as happy as possible, sit and talk to him and keep him smiling. Nursing is excellent care too! Would definitely recommend.

Mum has been resident at Brookview for 3 years. Her 85th birthday was 26/09 and was made very special by the staff.
Banners were placed in and outside her room and she could enjoy her day.

I arrived on a Saturday afternoon. There was nobody about and no information on how to contact someone. Only the chef arriving in the lift brought us some assistance. My first impressions were not good. However, the subsequent care and support I received was first class and I felt at all times as though
the staff did care for my welfare. In similar circumstances in future, I would not hesitate to book into Brookview.

Excellent caring comfortable environment. Lovely room and view onto open fields. Pleasant, airy lounge for residents to meet and sit, with peaceful background music and view onto a terrace with a restful garden area. Only slight disappointment to date is only one external outing (canal trip) throughout
the summer, had expected more. A coach trip into the hills would be good. Management changes very frequently - no sense of continuity. Though this does not seem to affect the care standards.

Updates on the resident's health and well being are appreciated, also, phone calls if there had been any incidents - falls, doctors visits, etc. As a visitor, always feel welcomed by the staff on duty. Matters of concern are dealt with promptly.

When looking for a care home for my mother, the manager here was the only one of all the places that I visited who was interested in my situation as well as my mother's. The staff have always been very friendly as well as professional, treating everyone with dignity and giving them as much sense of

My daughter has received excellent care in all respects in the fourteen months she has been in this care home.
When visiting my family and I are always welcomed and kept informed of my daughter's care. If there is a problem I am contacted by phone. The staff and the home are first class.

I am very happy with the caring side, but they are very short staffed on the second floor. The rooms don't get cleaned every day. Floors and toilet are dirty. The room needs painting. All carers are very helpful but run off their feet, especially when it comes to changing the patients. It should be
done more often.

Since my husband was transferred here from hospital on 23 April he has received much care and attention, services have been brought in to help with his poor mobility in particular and referral for memory testing too. Not much improvement sadly, although the care and attention is excellent. Blood tests
for Warfarin are taken each week and antibiotics for a recent chest infection. All staff are professional and friendly with all-round care.

We were very pleased to get 'intermediate care' for my husband at Brookview. We found nearly all the staff very kind and helpful. He also enjoyed the view of the fields from his window. We bought in ice for his knee. Lights in car park need mending. The visitor car park is at times inadequate and full.
As a visitor, I also enjoyed meeting the staff who worked hard.

My father had respite care for 5 weeks. I cannot fault Brookview. The staff are so caring and helpful. They really helped him get back on his feet. Thanks to everyone involved with his care.

Brookview is an excellent home in almost all of the categories. The one slight blip is that there are never enough carers or/and hostesses to cater for the residents and guests.
I realise that it may be difficult to recruit staff of suitable type or disposition but perhaps a push for more staff to
help both residents and current staff members.

Staff all incredibly friendly, helpful - from office staff, maintenance man, and of course nursing and care staff.
Warm, friendly atmosphere throughout.
Communication between staff and next of kin needs to improve (eg only found out about norovirus outbreak and closure by word of mouth).

Sharon Helliwell Short

Job Title: General Manager

I have worked for Bupa for just under 5 years. I previously worked in the police force as a communications officer, followed by home care where I then progressed into care homes and worked my way up to where I am today.


Caring for residents is my passion and ensuring all their needs are met. I love engaging with families and the team to ensure Brookview is a great place to live and work.


I am married with three grown-up children and a granddaughter who is five. I live in Knutsford, and in my spare time, I love spending time with my family, going on walks with our dog, sunny holidays and socialising with friends!
