My lovely Mum was given a place at Cavendish Court because she had tested positive for Covid and had become unwell. The staff were kind, caring and compassionate when I took her there. It was late at night, my Mum was still in her pyjamas and the staff (dressed as Christmas elves) came out to greet
us. The home manager, took my Mum’s hand, introduced herself and said "don’t worry, we’ll take care of you" and was on hand to help and another lady was sent to find us because I had got lost. The staff at Cavendish Court are so kind and caring. My Mum has Covid so she can’t, and is not well enough, to go into the communal areas so I can’t comment on those facilities. The staff are on hand to help Mum with anything. They are checking on Mum’s vital signs regularly, administering her normal medication and encouraging her to eat and drink. A staff used her own money to buy Mum a newspaper. Amazing care from an outstanding staff.

My husband was in Cavendish Court Care Home for 4 months and was very well looked after whilst there. He was quite happy to stay there for as long as was possible.

It's the first time we have needed to take advantage of respite care and the team at Cavendish Court made a very good impression.
The well-organised staff were friendly, approachable and were understanding of our needs!
We now have peace of mind should respite be required in the future.

Since my mother-in-law has been in Cavendish Court she has come out of herself. I've not seen her so happy for years.
The staff are all so accommodating and all so very friendly. They cannot do enough to help.
Thank you.

Mum was moved from Macclesfield to yourselves recently. I can't thank you all enough for the great care you are providing for our Mum. The home is very clean, modern and welcoming. All management and staff can't do enough for the residents and us, as visitors. A massive thank you.

All staff treated Mum with kindness. During my visits I observed all residents being treated with kindness and understanding by all staff (including chefs, reception staff as well as care staff).

A team of caring kind and dedicated nurses and carers, looked after our loved one wonderfully, very supportive to the family, keeping pain under control with expert knowledge and care. Nothing was too much trouble, very nice clean environment for anyone who would require the services of this marvellous
place. I can’t thank all the staff enough for our loved one's care and also they extended it to us the family, at a very sad and difficult time. Just a marvellous place. Thank you.

Cavendish Court is an excellent facility. Lovely atmosphere when you arrive. The staff are caring and considerate for such a sad time in our family. The chef went out of his way to help. I would definately recommend.

I could not thank the staff enough. Their kindness, caring, attention to detail, action, when medical attention was required, were amazing. Looking after the family at a very sad time was given without hesitation. Cleanliness particularly good along with a chef that could not do enough to cook food
that would tempt my husband to try.

My husband was admitted to Cavendish Court from hospital when he was dying from Cancer and Alzheimer's disease. On admittance, the staff greeted us in a friendly reassuring manner. During his 4 week stay, he was given 24-hour care. I appreciated seeing the hourly record kept of this. His room needed
the carpet replacing in was old and unhygienic. Also, the lounge/eating areas needed refreshing (2nd floor). The staff were most helpful and caring, especially on the night of my husband's death.

From our first visit to Cavendish Court we, my sister and I, and our mum have been treated with care. This has been a very emotional time for us, putting our lovely mum into a care home.
The staff here have been fabulous, the time they spend with mum and how they treat her illness.
I really don't
know what we would have done without them.
Our sincere thanks to all. We would not hesitate in recommending Cavendish Court.

Cavendish Court is a lovely place, the staff are wonderful and the services within are being worked upon to improve month on month. The entertainment and food are great and for the most part the residents all seem very happy.

Putting my mum into a care home was one of the most difficult things I've had to do, but the management and staff at the Cavendish were so helpful and caring. My mum is settling much better than I expected which is such a relief.

Cavendish Court Care Home have long-term staff members who are very kind, patient and caring.
Unfortunately, there are too many agency staff and not enough long-term staff.
There has been a high turnover of managers within the last year when compared to another care home.
There are insufficient numbers
of staff during the daytime and night time.
The management rating is apart from the peripatetic manager.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.944)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.944) out of 10 for Cavendish Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.430 for Cavendish Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.43

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.514 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cavendish Court Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.6 = 0.814

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
