Excellent care and dignity were given to my mother during the last weeks of her life. She was kept clean and comfortable and the staff and manager treated me very well at a difficult time. Thank you.

This home was chosen because of it'swarm and homely feel. Generally, the staff are very caring of my father's needs. My parents celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this month. The staff at the home went to a great deal of trouble and effort to make it such a special day, especially the activities
coordinator. My Father is very settled and comfortable. We feel confident that he is being well looked after.

My sister spent nearly four months in Cavendish Court where she was treated with utmost respect and dignity before passing away. I wish to thank all the staff for their compassion and care during this time.

Each week I take my severely disabled wife to Cavendish Court to receive special daycare - for one day. I have nothing but praise for the care given, the warmth of the welcome and the professional attitude of the staff.
For my wife, it is an experience which she greatly values.

Professional and welcoming when we asked to visit Cavendish Court Care Home.
Bright and cheery surroundings.
It is a pity we didn't have a private shower in the en-suite as my father would have been more comfortable.
Excellent nursing care and he really enjoyed the food.
Would happily recommend
the Cavendish.

My wife has been a resident at this home for over three years. She is a Parkinson's sufferer of 20 years. My wife is now in the memory loss phase of her illness. Though unsteady, can walk with 3 wheel trike. The staff are very good at getting her to the toilet, bathing etc. I have helped by getting
her moved each day to the large sitting room kitchen, this gives her company and also the office opposite gives the staff an overall view. There are games, quizzes, exercises etc. Overall I consider every effort is made to keep the residents happy. I would recommend this home.

Current Review Score: 8.9 (8.944)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.9 (8.944) out of 10 for Cavendish Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.430 for Cavendish Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (47 Excellents x 5) + (39 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.43

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.514 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cavendish Court Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.6 = 0.814

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
