Excellent staff and facilities. Clean and tidy facilities. Covid rules strictly applied so no worries as to the disease getting in the home.
Staff warm and friendly, and they can't do enough for the residents.
Altogether outstanding!

A very dedicated team of experienced staff who love their jobs and treat the residents and relatives like family. They are kind and cooperative in their approach, working with residents, community mental health teams other health care professionals and family to do the very best they can for the resident.

I have been a visitor to Clayton Manor for over three years and the one thing that has impressed more than any other is the devotion of all members of staff to their charges, particularly the ones suffering from dementia. You can see how they respond to this love that they are contented and settled
and I am confident that my wife is in very good hands, which is a very big plus for me. I have eaten here on several occasions such as Birthdays and Christmas and the food has been excellent with staff pulling out all the stops to make the day memorable. Brilliant coffee and cake in reception. The maintenance of the home is first-rate and there is an absence of the offensive odours that I have experienced in the many other homes I have visited over the years. During the recent pandemic, it is appreciated that the staff workload must have been greatly increased by residents being confined to their rooms and yet my constant phone calls have been treated with the utmost kindness. Thank you.

I could not praise the staff, management and the care my mother has received highly enough. In the 10 years she has been a resident here she has been treated as an extension of the carers' families. The staff (every last one of them) go above and beyond every single day. I would highly recommend Clayton
Manor as a safe and very caring environment for a relative needing such care.

On the whole, care is very good, but they seem to have difficulty in retaining staff. A lot of good care staff have left or are leaving. Activities are good, although my daughter does not always join in. She does enjoy music and film afternoons, more outings would be nice once or twice a month - locally,
ie. shops, park/cafe or theatre.

The staff are very caring and great with the residents.
The home has recently been redecorated and looks lovely but this has been confined to the main communal areas and offices.
The bedrooms are functional and that's fine but the ensuites are quite dated.
The day trips out or half days out seemed
to have decreased in frequency.

My husband was in Clayton Manor for approximately 2 months.
I visited him every day and was always impressed by the care he received.
I never saw anything untoward and the staff looked after me as well as my husband.
I found the cost rather expensive but decided if you want the best you should pay
for it.
If I ever need to be in a care home, Clayton Manor is the one I would choose.

My mum arrived at Clayton Manor on Friday 29th March 2019 after suffering a severe stroke at home.
She received treatment at the hospital for 11 weeks before arriving here.
My mum was treated with such care and dignity from the moment she arrived, the team went above and beyond to make her comfortable
in her last weeks.
The care and support shown to me personally were exceptional, I can't praise them enough.

I hated having to put my dad in a care home but I had no choice, it was the best place for him. The staff were lovely with him and incredibly patient. If any more of my family need this sort of care I wouldn't hesitate in using the same home again or in recommending it to a friend.

Mum waited so long to use the commode/toilet, she wet herself and was embarrassed and ashamed. She pressed her buzzer but had to wait a long time for a nurse/carer to assist her to the toilet.

My mum has been a resident for nearly two years and is extremely happy. She looks very well cared for and is comfortable with all the staff. My parents are now both in Clayton Manor and care very well cared for. My mother has been in a few years now and the staff couldn't be nicer to her. She can have 'difficult' days (or moments) but the staff are extra patient and kind and she soon reverts to her normal self.
My father has been in the
dementia unit for just over a year, he has gone downhill very quickly but is treated with great understanding and tolerance.


The food is good with varied menus and level of cleanliness is outstanding, in all the bedrooms and public areas.


Visitors are welcomed and involved, all in all, a good place to be.

My sister has been in Clayton Manor care home now for 8 weeks and so far things are really good.
The care she is receiving is excellent.
When I visit there is always someone to keep me informed on my sister's welfare and having a doctor there twice a week I think is wonderful.
The one downside I
can foresee is the changing of staff, but no one can help it if people decide to leave, as my sister finds it hard to communicate and carers have left while she has been there, but everyone is understanding of her needs which are many.

I am a qualified nurse with 21 years of experience in the NHS and 22 years of experience in the healthcare sector. I have a special interest in dementia care, and worked as a national dementia lead, before coming to manage Clayton Manor in 2020. Prior to this role, I managed an outstanding-rated home for 9 years. I love my job and work hard to ensure that people living and working here are happy, and safe and have the best we can possibly offer. I also ensure that relatives are informed of what is happening at all times. We operate in a truly inclusive way so everyone feels welcome and supported. I am very proud to say that I work at Clayton Manor. It is the most homely, caring and exceptional place I have worked in.
