Acorn Meadow care home, situated in the beautiful part of Lostock Gralam, Northwich, supports older people to lead their best lives with personalised residential dementia care.

This newly-refurbished, cosy home has been tastefully decorated for maximum comfort whilst the landscaped garden provides a restful place for residents to catch up with friends and family or simply to enjoy the outdoors with a cup of tea. To ensure residents always feel at home, the comfortable living areas and bedrooms are all easily accessible by wheelchair.

From Care Assistants to Wellbeing Coordinators and Chefs, each and every member of the professional care team is there to make Acorn Meadow a home from home for all residents. And with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the Home Manager leads the team to ensure residents are supported to live the best quality of life.

The catering team at Acorn Meadow care home understand the nutritional needs of older people and create delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all of residents as well as visitors. They offer a wide range of popular dining areas that provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals.

Learning about each resident’s hobbies and interests enables the dedicated and professional care team to design a comprehensive activity programme, supporting those living in the home to enjoy the things they love most. From building relationships with neighbours in local community groups and schools to arranging tours in the local area, Acorn Meadow also encourages residents to take an active role in the Northwich community.

My father-in-law has dementia and appears happy here. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. My father-in-law loves to chat and has lots of laughs with the staff. I have worked in care myself and know how demanding it can be at times but the staff here really are amazing, they are attentive,
listen and communicate which is what we want. Thank you so much for all you do, you are appreciated very much by us and we can't thank you enough.

My father has dementia. He seems to be happy at the home. We regularly see photos of him joining in on activities that he would have never done when he was at home. He appears happy, clean, well-fed, and presentable when we see him.

Lovely care home with lovely, caring staff. My dad has settled into Avandale and speaks very highly of all members of the team which makes us as a family feel at ease with him being here. Staff are always happy to answer any questions we have about dad.

This is the first time we have had any connection with a loved one needing a care home.
At Avandale Lodge we were straight away put at ease by really lovely caring staff who told us all we needed to know. My husband who suffers from dementia quickly settled in by caring staff. Well looked after and
all his needs tended to. Excellent home and cannot thank them enough.

The Wellbeing Coordinator is very supportive and has a good relationship with residents and their activities. The resident can be difficult and needs a lot of encouragement to leave her room. The Wellbeing Coordinator has worked hard with her to gain her trust and to encourage her to be more sociable.
Another member of staff, in particular, is also very good with the residents and communications.

I have only been in a couple of times recently but it's always a lovely experience. The staff are great, always have time to answer any questions and can't do enough really. My stepmum seems happy, always looks lovely and is well looked after. The gardens are beautiful and the place as a whole looks
like a good place to be, very clean and lovely and warm inside.

As a family, we were very anxious about mum going in for respite. The manager put our minds at rest straight away. Every member of staff that answers the phone is friendly and helpful. We couldn't be happier with Avandale.
