On the banks of the River Dane in Northwich, Cheshire, Daneside Court Care Home offers personalised residential and nursing care to older people.

The welcoming and purpose-built care home has a pretty landscaped garden, which includes a lovely sensory area, and is a favourite spot for many Residents at Daneside Court. This tastefully decorated home also has four sitting rooms, four dining areas and a hairdressing salon – the perfect setting in which to relax and socialise. The bright, comfortable bedrooms and living areas are all accessible by wheelchair.

The dining areas at Daneside Court also offer a welcoming space where residents can enjoy meals prepared by the catering team, welcoming visitors to join them whenever they wish. The team offer a varied menu to ensure all preferences and dietary requirements are catered for.

Care provision at the home is just as high quality as its living space. The team are not only experienced and skilled but also compassionate and kind, working hard to ensure residents lead a fulfilled and enjoyable lifestyle. The varied activities programme offers a range of things for people to get involved in, but they are equally welcome to enjoy the peace and quiet the home offers when they prefer.

Focusing on personal wellbeing, the team also encourage residents to play an active role in the community outside of the home. I visit my friend who is a resident at the home every week. I find it welcoming and friendly. My friend always speaks highly of the care received. The home is always clean and the staff always appear happy.

First impression on entering - warm, friendly, attentive. Care first class - staff always on hand and efficient. Home keeping services excellent - clean, fresh like we would not know it was a residential home. Meals appetising, hot and tasty, all diets and resident choices catered for. The standards
start with the head person, here you can tell that the manager sets standards that are expected to be an example to others. The day to day social activities are well planned and meet residents needs. Overall - residents come first, second and last. Courtesy and empathy are obvious, a place you would want your loved one to be.

My father has been given first class care, since moving into Daneside Court. His medication has been reviewed with the input from staff. As a consequence his health and overall wellbeing has improved. He has been encouraged to join in activities and is walking again with the use of a frame and staff
and support. No problem is ever too much for the staff, their care and kindness is second to none.

I have recently visited a family friend at Daneside Court. I was made to feel very welcome by the staff. You hear so much bad press about care homes generally that I felt I had to write about a positive experience I had. It really felt like a home from home.

What does kindness mean to you?


“For me, kind care is making a difference to a person’s day, ensuring that everyone feels comfortable, happy and cared for.”


As a Registered Nurse, Samantha has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Samantha closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Daneside Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Samantha remarked:


“Listening to the life stories of Residents and their loved ones, hearing about their amazing achievements and wishes can help us deliver the best possible care for the individual.”


Outside of work, Samantha likes to spend quality time with her family and has an active lifestyle, she spends her spare time going to the gym and for long walks.
