Welcome to Rowans Care Centre, a purpose-built 36-bedded home nestled in a peaceful residential area of Macclesfield. Conveniently located near the town centre, the home enjoys close proximity to local amenities and excellent transport links, with a regular bus route and nearby shops.

Rowans Care Centre specialises in providing a range of care services for the elderly, from assistance with daily living tasks to elderly nursing care and support for residents with dementia. The home boasts modern amenities and features, including a spacious lounge area on the ground floor and a quiet 'Reminiscence' lounge and family kitchen on the first floor.

Each of the single occupancy bedrooms offers comfort and security, with convenient access to communal areas via a passenger lift. The dedicated staff are always on hand, with a call bell system ensuring quick assistance when needed.

The team takes pride in fostering a warm and vibrant atmosphere at Rowans, with a dedicated activities team organising a variety of engaging events and sessions, from sherry mornings and bingo sessions to arts, crafts, and baking activities. Residents also enjoy regular entertainment from musical performers, enhancing their overall well-being and enjoyment.

Rowans Care Centre is committed to community engagement and sustainability. They work closely with the voluntary group 'Food for Macc’ to support local initiatives, including encouraging residents to grow their own vegetables. Bountiful harvests provide the centre with a delightful selection of fresh produce, enriching residents' dining experience.

With two highly skilled registered nurses on duty during the day and additional support at night, along with regular visits from the General Practitioner, Rowans Care Centre ensures the highest standards of care and support for all residents and strives to create a true home from home where residents feel valued.

My mum has been in this Care Home for about a month now. I can’t praise the staff enough, they are all lovely. The manager is lovely and was so helpful when we spoke to her about our mum, she totally understood and was very reassuring. My mum is very happy in here, every time we visit she always looks
very clean and tidy. They really look after her well and the staff are always popping in to make sure everything is ok. Me and my sister are very happy we chose this Care Home, we couldn’t wish for any place better.

My mother is well cared for and has a good bond with the regular staff. The staff are attentive, kind and interested in my mother's welfare. I am always comforted about her health needs, e.g. if she gets an infection, and they refer any concerns to the GP who attends regularly.
We are being encouraged
to take meals with her (which we pay for) from time to time and the food is delicious, homecooked and plentiful.
Pre-Covid, there were more regular activities. Staff are working hard to restore activities.

All the staff have been fantastic with my mum. The care she has been given is first class. They go out of their way to make Mum comfortable and always speak to you with a smile on their face and nothing is too much trouble.

My father was referred to your step-up bed by the crisis response team. He was not safe to manage by himself with reduced mobility following a fall.
The staff here are marvellous, friendly and engaging and can't do enough for my father. The food is appetising and well-cooked. My sister and I have enjoyed
visiting to see my father no longer lonely.

There is a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff are extremely friendly and engaging. The food is always of a very high standard - extremely tasty and freshly cooked. We greatly enjoy our Sunday lunches with my father.

I cannot praise the Rowans Care Centre highly enough. The care and attention they have given Mum has been amazing and it truly feels like a family. The food -particularly the baking- is always excellent and there is always someone available to provide Mum the support she needs. The manager and all her

My dad is a resident at the Rowans Care Centre and has settled in well. The home is well run, the manager and staff are very responsive if I have any queries, communication is excellent and I am kept well informed. There is a friendly environment and I am always made to feel welcome as a visitor.
All
the staff are hardworking and genuinely very kind and caring. My dad is treated with compassion and respect. The food choice is good, my dad enjoys the food and also the activities.
Overall, I am very satisfied with the Rowans and I feel reassured that my dad is safe and well cared for.

Mum arrived mid-February and was immediately welcomed with open arms by the various members of the team; manager, nurse, carers and admin. The stress I had previously (for the past three years) disappeared within a couple of weeks with the Rowans Care Centre team taking the responsibilities I had. It's
early days of course as yet, but I have every trust and confidence in Rowans.

All the staff were very kind and helpful.
Complaint - the temperature is over 25 degrees C - too hot for normal living resulting in sleeping being sweaty, with damp bedding.
Medication - always on time and with correct doses. The six weeks spent at this facility were quite pleasant as I slowly recovered
enough to return home. Not enough staff available - but staff present worked very hard all the time. The buzzer for help was the most disturbing feature, disturbing sleep.

When visiting the Rowans, my family have always been treated with kindness and respect. My husband is very happy there, which I never thought possible, away from home. He is always treated wonderfully by all the staff and has no complaints - the food is excellent.
All the staff, from the management
to everybody, are wonderful. We have no complaints whatsoever.

It was the resident's 96th birthday, and I visited with my partner and family. The staff decorated the lounge with balloons and birthday wishes and provided sandwiches and a beautiful cake. Their care and compassion were so heartfelt and very much appreciated by all. We couldn't wish for better.

My husband was placed in the Rowans Care Centre by the NHS for rehabilitation after a lengthy stay in hospital. During his stay, he has always been treated with the greatest care and respect. His physical and mental health has improved no end, and I put this down to the wonderful care shown by all of
the staff at the Rowans. I am absolutely positive that he would not be as well as he is today without their care and attention. I couldn't recommend this care home highly enough.

Mum has been in the Rowans for three years, has dementia and is bedbound. She receives all the care needs from dedicated, caring, friendly professional staff who are approachable and treat mum with dignity and respect despite her sometimes challenging behaviour. The Rowans is a 70's prefab type old
building which was in need of TLC - which has happened recently - just the bedrooms and bathrooms left!

I find it difficult to give an accurate review as mother is more or less bedridden if I have any issues I told the staff and they have resolved the matter. I think management and staff managed the covid situation very well.

My mum-in-law is happy at Rowans. The staff I feel are the asset they are always caring, friendly and helpful.
It has been a really tough time these last few years because of Covid but during this time I have always felt that my relative was being very well cared for.

My partner and I visited my aunt in the afternoon for one and a half hours, we conformed to the rules of wearing masks as required. My aunt was asleep part of the time due to having a busy morning but she did wake and we chatted, but she has dementia and is very deaf. I take a pad and pen to write words
requiring her comments. The carers came in from time to time chatting to auntie and ourselves informing us of her daily life - seeing the doctor, having her hair done, watching videos, enjoying her food. Her room and the lounge have been redecorated and the lounge refurbished.

After living at Rowans for the last three years, my mother died at the end of August and I am posting this review to highlight just how impressed I have been by the care given to her during her time here. All the management and staff have been so kind, caring and compassionate to Mum throughout her
stay and also very welcoming and supportive to all her family during visits and so on. In the final few days, they made sure that Mum was always comfortable and that I always knew what was happening. I am truly grateful for their kindness and their care.
