Thank you to everyone who made my mother's stay in respite care a good experience. All the staff were very caring to everyone. They made the environment safe, clean, warm and friendly, ensuring that all people were treated with kindness and respect. The happy, kind-hearted attitude of each member of
staff was a joy to see and certainly uplifted my mother's spirits. Thank you once again. Keep up the good work - you're all amazing!

My dad has got Alzhiemers and we've had to make the difficult decision to put him in a home (we have had experience with care homes and dementia as my mum being put in a home). We looked at care homes in our area and as soon as we walked into Vale Court we got such a homely feeling. The staff are lovely
and extremely helpful.
Dad has been in for 4 weeks now and he has settled in lovely, extremely happy all round. Excellent.

This care home looked after mum right up to her passing, they could not have been better. Such a pity you could only give five stars, I could multiply that a thousand times over. Big thanx to all the staff that work so hard. Below I ticked every box as excellent they should have included a + (plus)

Staff on the Dementia floor are lovely, always smiling and interacting with the residents. It is a friendly home and welcoming staff, always helpful even when busy. Dementia floor and all of the downstairs is clean and tidy whenever I visit. Food is lovely and always get a choice. Well done everyone.

My husband is at Vale Court for respite. However, I would like my husband or myself at this home if it was necessary on a long term basis.

My mother came to Vale Court under very difficult circumstances. She lived with my father who is disabled and was her sole carer. It broke my dad's heart to admit that he couldn't cope anymore. We looked at a few nursing homes and decided on Vale Court. The best decision. Mum is content and happy, treated
with dignity and respect and best of all the staff treat my dad so well and he can come and go when he wants. They even feed him.

My husband has been in Vale Court since August 2017. I am very happy with the care here receives and the meals he is given.
Family members and visitors are made to feel welcome at any time of the day. Residents are encouraged to participate in the activities on offer and trips out. The staff are all
patient and caring so my husband is in safe hands.

Vale Court is an excellent care home for my mum. The staff are hard working, respectful, caring and a credit to their profession. The facilities and overall care my mum receives is first class and even though she suffers from dementia and her communication is limited I can tell that her needs are being
met fully and she is very settled and content in her surroundings.

As part of my role as a community nurse, I have visited many care homes and worked in several care homes. I consider Vale Court to be a very good care home. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Managers, clinical and non-clinical as well as taking good care of my mum, they are also very kind towards
my dad.
Staff are very responsive to the physical, social and emotional needs of my mum.

My Mum who is 96 years old and has dementia moved into Vale Court Care Home in February. After having spent 64 years in her home it was a massive change for her but she settled in very quickly indeed. This was down to the way in which the staff treated her, her room which she really liked and the
food which she thoroughly enjoys, especially the cooked breakfasts which have always been the highlight of her day. On her Birthday in May, she was treated royally by the team and she really enjoys having her nails varnished and her hair done. The staff always consult with me about any issues which may arise and these are always dealt with swiftly and efficiently. As her only child, I had the full responsibility of choosing where she would go to and I am delighted with the choice which I made. I am happy in the knowledge that she is being looked after extremely well both day and night by the thoughtful and caring staff.

My Mother has dementia and was subject to a social services intervention and removed from her residence and home care. She was dehydrated, undernourished and had been subject to long hours of loneliness and isolation. She was temporarily placed in a care home, which put staff under stress as they were
not equipped to care for dementia residents.
However, since being placed in Vale Court Care Home, the staff possess sufficient knowledge and skills to make a difference. Personalised care, support and individual engagement has returned self-respect, confidence and self-esteem. Physically her hygiene and well being has improved, she has gained weight as well as increased mobility.
I cannot express my gratitude enough to all the carers at Vale Court who contribute to the Health, Safety and Welfare of all the residents. Engaging each resident personalised needs, they achieve a caring community that removes the shadows of loneliness. I can only say from the bottom of my heart, thank you all for all your patience and caring you are very, very special individuals. I would not hesitate in recommending this unique care home.

Since the day my sister who has learning difficulties and cannot stand or walk due to a major spinal problem she suffered in January 2017, she was accepted by Vale Court in April 2017 and the quality of care and attention she has received from all members of the staff has been excellent.
In spite of
her numerous problems, she continues to be very content and happy at Vale Court, since being moved from the hospital.

This home is better than I could have hoped for. I and my family spend a lot of time visiting the home and are made to feel very welcome. Residents are treated as if they live there, not as if they are staying there. Staff are excellent and the culture of caring and friendliness clearly comes from the
top. The staff know the residents well and interact with them as if they were family. Individual needs (e.g. dementia, continence, mobility, eating) are well understood and managed. I visited lots of homes before choosing this as our preference. Dad moved from another home on the Wirral which was quite frankly a shambles. Vale Court Care Home is a breath of fresh air. The gardens are also very nice for the occasional stroll.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.245)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.245) out of 10 for Vale Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.542 for Vale Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (10 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.542

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.703 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Vale Court Care Home is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 61 registered maximum number of service users is 12.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.2 = 0.328

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
