Have excellent relations with staff, all speak to them clinical, cleaners, laundry and care. Nothing is too much trouble, some staff telephone if anything out of the ordinary happens. Kept well informed.
There are many homely things, cat wonders around, chickens in the garden, I can hear cockerel crowing
now, which takes 'wife and I' back to the countryside.
She has been here for over three years; if in future I need care, will be happy to come here.

Thank you so much for your positive comments, it's lovely to see you when you visit the home most days. I know you have mentioned the chickens previously which evokes nice memories for you. I will be sure to share your lovely comments with the staff.

My brother moved here on 28th August. In the past few months I have found the staff across all areas to be very respectful and very helpful, very honest if and when things don't quite workout and very willing to learn how to deliver a fantastic level of support on all fronts.

Westwood Court have cared for my mum for last 5 years. I have always found the staff to be readily available and very supportive and caring towards myself and my mum, nothing is too much trouble. They would go above and beyond to build a strong relationship with my mum. Taking the time to find out what
she loved and organised activities that they knew she would love, these included many visits from animals. The resident cat and budgie made it feel like a home away from home. The office staff were also very informative and helpful. Sadly it did come to end of life care which is something myself and the whole family were dreading but at an awful time it was made easier by all staff who were amazing explaining each step and ensuring we all had the support we needed. I just want to say a heartfelt Thank You to all at Westwood Court.

Mum has been in Westwood court for 3 and a half years, she has received excellent care throughout. Dignity, professionalism and basic needs are always met with lots of hugs and laughs imbetween. Some of the staff have been here years. Food is abundant with chocolate and biscuits and birthdays are always
celebrated with a cake. The home has undergone extensive renovations both inside and outside. The lounge space is now bright and open with a designated dining area and new chairs with bright fabric curtains, creating a very peaceful space to relax. Communication is also good, any incident however small is reported and there are always staff available to answer any questions. I would recommend Westwood Court to anyone looking for that care home with an extra special touch with amazing staff.

Marion, thank you for your lovely feedback, it's good to hear that you're happy with the care provided. Over the past 12 months, we have been working hard on the renovations and involved residents regarding choices of artwork and soft furnishings. We understand how important it is to have peace of mind knowing individuals are well cared for within the home. I will share your feedback with the team.

My father spent nearly 12 months at Westwood Court due to challenges faced by his dementia. We were extremely impressed by the level of thoroughness, professionalism and dignity that was evident. Staffing levels are not only good but also staff retention extremely high, always seeming to be happy and
willing to help in any way. Nursing staff have by and large, been there for many years and demonstrate a great relationship with their carer colleagues and thorough understanding of their charges. Rooms are of a reasonable size, food plentiful and nutritious.
The Home appears to be extremely well organised and it was quite clear that my father had prescribed creams and ointments applied regularly to affected areas of his skin and as a result, his overall skin condition improved.
We have no doubts whatsoever about the exemplary care provided to my father before he sadly passed away. As a family, we are in debt and recommend the Home to anyone considering placing a loved one in this facility.

My wife moved to Westwood Court in February 2017 having spent 18 months prior to this at another local care home. The professionalism, care, love and understanding of my wife's condition has been without question wonderful. The feeling I get when visiting my wife is of warmth and every person there
conveys this feeling. I have never worried about the care given and the welcome I receive makes me feel like one of the family. My wife's care and comfort is without question excellent and I would have no problems in recommending Westwood Court Winsford to anyone.

Current Review Score: 8.7 (8.670)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.7 (8.670) out of 10 for Westwood Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 4 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.7 out of 5 from 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.938 for Westwood Court is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 48 Ratings = 4.938

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.732 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Westwood Court is based on 4 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.375

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2. 4 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.2 = 0.357

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
