Woodlands Care Centre is a small nursing home which offers a homely atmosphere providing dignified and compassionate residential, dementia, nursing and palliative care. Woodlands has a team of highly skilled nurses and care staff trained to care for a variety of health conditions including Dementia, Alzheimer's, Multiple Sclerosis, cancer and Parkinson's. The team ensures that Woodlands is a happy, welcoming and homely environment for all residents, their family and friends.

Day space comprises 2 lounges in addition to a brand new conservatory / dining room in November 2023 overlooking a mature garden with wheelchair-accessible patio and lawns.

The building has great character, built as a private residence in 1880, which became a care home in 1984. Bedrooms are large single rooms (couples can be catered for in the largest rooms), many with en-suite facilities, located on two floors with a passenger lift between. Bedrooms can be personalised with favourite furniture pieces, pictures and ornaments from home.

With home cooked food cooked on the premises, special diets can be catered for. A varied daily menu is designed to provide choices that enhance the health and wellbeing of residents.

Residents enjoy a varied activities programme, tailor-made, with games, quizzes, dining experiences and holistic therapies. They have their own in-house hairdresser.

The Woodlands philosophy is targeted at providing a safe and friendly 'home from home' environment whilst offering the highest standards of nursing and personal care aimed at fulfilling the golden years of their residents.

My sister and myself cannot thank the staff enough for their care and kindness shown to our Mum over the last 12 months. We were always welcome at any time to visit Mum and it did feel like her home. I would highly recommend Woodlands to anyone, such lovely, caring outstanding staff.

Woodlands Care Home was the best choice for my mum who on leaving hospital (after a 5-week stay) needed a couple of weeks respite care and some help rebuilding her confidence before returning to her own home to be cared for. From day one Mum received the best professional care by the friendly staff
who looked after her, nothing was ever too much trouble. When I visited there was always staff around chatting and attending to residents, they were always very kind and respectful. Mum saw a GP from her surgery weekly, had her hair done and saw the chiropodist, all very important to getting her back on her feet. As it was Christmas time the residents had a party, Mum joined in, singing on the mic, the staff told me she had a beautiful voice. The biggest focus in the home is supporting everyone's individual needs in a "family" way and Woodlands certainly does that.

The genuine care and affection from all the staff at Woodlands left us assured that Dad was safe and connected to the people around him. There is a real family atmosphere between the staff, residents and their relatives. It was always relaxed, personal and welcoming whenever we visited. We were always
kept informed on everything that was going on and were impressed at the way all of Dad's medical and care needs were professionally handled. It's a lovely home.

I simply cannot fault the level of care that Nan received whilst staying at Woodlands. It was amazing, they really went above and beyond. The staff made her feel like part of the family, they were attentive and supportive, cared and loved her. Whenever I visited they always made me feel very welcome,
answered any questions and provided support to my family during what was such a difficult time for us all, including Nan. I would highly recommend Woodlands to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved one.

Woodlands provided top-class care for my Grandmother. I would visit monthly, staff would know who I was and were friendly and approachable. The staff showed care and compassion to my grandmother who spoke very highly of them and most importantly felt like part of a family. The centre provided extra
activities and entertainment that my grandmother enjoyed such as music and nail
painting, adding a sense of normality to my grandmother's routine. As an organisation, they took every step possible to ensure that visits could continue during restrictions in COVID. I would highly recommend it. They also provided my mother with advice in relation to the ongoing situation with my grandmother which was both expert and welcomed.

Woodlands provided exceptional care for my nan. Staff are excellent and friendly. Nan was well looked after, with regular visits from staff to see if she needed anything.
During Covid they went above and beyond to make visits possible.
Staff treat residents like family which creates a nice environment.

We visited Nan once a month. My wife and I took our daughter from being a newborn to when she was almost 2. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, always remembering who we were. It meant so much to my Nan that the staff would have conversations about us, and ask for updates on my daughter. This
was so special to Nan, the care staff had for the things that were so precious to her.

My mum was a resident at Woodlands for nearly two years during which time she received outstanding care from a team of outstanding people. I could not have asked for more. I visited daily and spent many hours observing staff interacting with all residents in a caring and respectful manner with a real
sense of affection. They loved mum like we loved her. They took time to ensure she was comfortable and her needs were being met. Nothing was too much trouble. Care was delivered in a relaxed way, with a sense of humour and ready smiles. Her family and friends were all welcomed as part of the Woodlands family. Mum's health was closely observed with changes noted and reported immediately. I never worried that she would be neglected or ignored but always felt she was everyone's top priority, as important to the staff as she was to me. Her concerns were listened to, acted upon and resolved.
During her last days, I was welcomed into the home, looked after and shown so much love. Thank you.

I have never seen my mother-in-law so happy, she is always full of praise for the staff. She is always telling us on our visits how well she gets looked after etc, how she loves the food and the activities and everyone that works there. I have noticed their affection on my visits. The administration
staff, carers and nurses are a credit to their profession and quick to let us know about any problems. It gives us peace of mind knowing she is happy and safe in a loving environment.

A very caring and compassionate environment. All the care staff (and office staff) treat residents with love, care, and dignity. My aunt settled really well here and the obvious love and attention with which she is treated is an absolute joy to see. The home has coped very well with the challenges of

I have nothing but praise for the loving care my mum has received from all the staff at Woodlands. They have looked after her well-being after a stay in hospital and a broken hip. She loves them all and the new entertainments manager is a real treat for her. Never seen her so happy in a long while.

Dad seems to have settled well. He always appears clean and well dressed, his hair is cut and washed regularly and he really enjoys the food. The staff all appear friendly and helpful and he seems to get on with them all. They have also been very accommodating with the visitors, and very helpful. Dad
enjoys the singing and the company in the lounge.

The care provided by this care home is excellent. The staff are very professional, hardworking, caring, dedicated, kind and thoughtful and always go above and beyond, nothing is ever too much trouble. During Covid, the staff have been excellent in putting measures in place to ensure the safety of both
the residents and visitors alike. The activities are very good; it is lovely to see my dad taking part. The meals always look amazing and are thoroughly enjoyed by him. The care and compassion showed to my dad and the family is unbeatable. The whole team are incredible. It is very reassuring to know my dad is in such capable and safe hands. I cannot praise everyone highly enough as they have made us feel part of an extended family.

Mum was looked after with loving care, compassion and kindness. All the residents are treated with respect and dignity and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The facilities are good, rooms are clean and homely. The meals are outstanding with all dietary requirements catered for. I always felt
confident that Mum was safe and very well looked after by her Woodlands Care Centre family. Before lockdown Mum had visitors every day. We were always greeted with warmth and well informed of Mum’s medical condition and how her day had been. The staff are outstanding, they understand the residents individual needs, likes, dislikes and strive to make their lives as comfortable and pleasant as possible. Sadly, Mum passed away. During Mum’s final days she was treated with loving care and dignity. The staff were so caring and supportive to me and my family at such a sad time. Woodlands Care Centre is a very special care home with exceptional staff.
