Mum is very settled now at Pennine View. She enjoys activities and the singer coming in. All the staff are very attentive and caring. Thank you.

My grandmother was a Muslim and a dementia patient. The care home went beyond the call of duty to ensure her stay was the most comfortable and enjoyable. They also ensured she had halal meals, and washed her whenever needed. The care home was very clean with several hand sanitisers in each hallway.
The
only issue we had was with an agency staff worker, who decided to walk a person with mobility issues down the stairs, however, the home ensured the person would not be allowed to continue working there.
At the end of her life, they were very supportive and kind.
You would expect most of this to be easy, but we transferred her here after a few months in a previous care home. Over there she kept falling, kept getting bruises, and her personal belongings and clothing (including nightgowns) kept going missing.
There was so much more the staff did, which escapes my mind, but I would honestly recommend this care home for anyone, especially dementia patients.

My mum has now been in Pennine View for nearly a year and on the whole, her time here has been happy. If I have any concerns, questions or information to pass on, I feel happy to approach management/staff to have a chat.
At the moment, there is no obvious activity lead hence the lower ratings to good
under the headings of care/support, staff and activities - I am expecting this to be a temporary situation because of a member of staff recently retiring.
On my regular visits to see my mum, I see the residents being offered a variety of snacks and drinks and given a choice of delicious meals.
The home is maintained to a high standard and is well-presented.
The management and staff work hard to provide a happy, caring and safe environment - many thanks to all of the team.

I cannot recommend Pennine View, formerly under another name. It's a lovely setting but the standards of care don't seem to match the building. My husband was admitted, supposedly as a permanent placement, because of his advancing Alzheimers disease. Within 48 hours the staff had decided that they couldn't
meet his needs, none of which were unusual for someone with dementia, and we were asked to take him home. When he entered the home he was smart, clean, and happy but when we collected him he was unkempt and withdrawn. It was a very distressing experience for him and the whole family, at a time when we needed help.

My husband has been in Addison Court since May and I am very happy with his care. The staff are all very caring and respectful, especially after his recent fall. They’re always happy to speak to me with advice and suggestions and inform me immediately of any problems.

My grandma has been at Addison Court for four months now and from what I've seen, she could not receive better care. The staff are so kind and are lovely with the residents. No one wants a loved one to need to be in a care home but when round-the-clock care is necessary, this is definitely the right
place for her to be.

My husband has been in Addison Court since January and I am happy with his care since being there. The staff are very helpful and keep me informed of changes in his health. We had a lovely day celebrating the Jubilee with a tea party for residents and families. Thanks to the activities coordinator for
keeping us entertained and the chef who put on a marvellous homemade buffet with a tasty Jubilee cake!

Addison Court looks lovely but when it came to care for my husband who has dementia, ie Alzheimer's, it was really bad, there was nothing at all for him to do, no hobbies or activities. He was stuck in a small lounge straight out from his bedroom and expected to sit there all day. He's an active man
and he got very agitated. He escaped twice due to the number for the door keypad being written on a piece of cardboard next to the front door! He was then sectioned. I had no choices.

Reading your review saddened us. Despite all efforts to offer care and support it was evident that Addison Court was not the ideal home for your husband. The home offers excellent residential dementia care, which after placement, became apparent did not meet his more specific needs. It was the decision of the specialist external health services and professionals to move him to a more secure location. We wish him well and hope he is more settled in his new home. Kind regards.

The resident seems happy where she is currently living. Her personal hygiene has improved since living here and her diet requirements have improved.

Welcome very good and staff friendly. An extra chair for visitors in the resident's room would improve the visitor's experience.

Since Mum has been in care at Addison Court all her needs have been met. The staff have made her very welcome. The standard of cleanliness has been excellent and Mum has no complaints with the food. We are really pleased with the standard of everything.
