Highfield Hall is a warm and supportive nursing home providing residential, nursing, dementia, and respite care for older people, and is situated in Rossendale, Haslingden.

This 75 bed home is run by a very experienced and considerate care team and qualified nurses who provide care for those with complex medical needs. Highfield Hall supports individuality and independence in all its residents and provides a safe environment to socialise, build relationships and enjoy life, every day.

Highfield Hall supports residents with everyday tasks, medical needs, and activities and events to keep both the mind and body active. My Mum came to Highfield Hall Care home, as she was struggling at home. All the staff are professional, caring and dedicated to providing quality care. Mum's room is bright and airy, the dining room is lovely, giving a hotel feel, with home-cooked meals and a choice of menu. The main lounge has a warm
feel where the residents can enjoy entertainment. I would recommend Highfield Hall. My mum has settled into a very comfortable environment, which is professionally run, I am so impressed with the care Mum receives. I know my mum is safe and cared for by a dedicated team of nursing care.

This care home is continuing draconian rules around visiting despite the government's guidance that visits should be facilitated as long as they are "safe". This is not the case at Highfield Hall, they are still limiting the number of visits. The office staff are rude and uncaring - the term "care home"
is a misnomer.

We understand families’ and loved one’s frustrations that open house visiting within care homes is not yet able to proceed, but we aim to facilitate all requested visits both face to face and out of home as safely as possible.
Highfield Hall is committed to operating within all visiting guidelines as laid down by the government DHSC, the local authority, the CQC, and infection control. We continue to ask people to pre-book visits, so that we can facilitate testing, PPE requirements, and manage the number of people within the home at any one time to maintain high standards of infection control and keep every resident and member of staff within our home, safe. As a nursing home we accommodate some of the most vulnerable people in society and will continue to ensure their safety and wellbeing is our first priority, whilst still enabling friends and family to visit and stay in touch.

A good number of years ago I made my first visit to Highfield to accompany a friend who was going to live there. It speaks for itself if I tell you I asked 'Have you got any spare rooms?' answer, only one. Me - 'Please can you put my name down and I'll gladly wash up for you.'
Laughter all round, but
I still mean it. Professional care and genuine kindness and understanding is plain to see on many occasions of my personal visits.

The staff are very attentive and caring to my mother's needs.
The food is not very satisfactory and we often get complaints from my mum about the meals. Only small amounts and unable to bite through the food or cold soggy sandwiches that are made hours before and refrigerated. Cold ups of tea or lukewarm.
We are paying privately for this and we often buy extra food for her.

I can't thank Highfield Hall enough for the care and support shown to my grandparents has been amazing. All of the staff are lovely and kind, the rooms are bright and clean. I would say that if I needed to go into care I would choose Highfield Hall.

My mother has been a resident since April 2017. I am very happy with the care she has received at Highfield Hall. Everyone is friendly, caring and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. I could not provide her care so I am grateful to find that I can relax knowing she is cared for here. Her room is
fine with en-suite facilities, although a little tired.
Even though she is not mobile every attempt has been made to include her in activities where possible. The activities are varied and regular despite limited finances.

My mother finds the staff not very friendly and the food is of a poor standard. Her last care home was far friendlier and the food was excellent but it was too far for family to visit on a regular basis. That's the reason she is back in Rossendale.
Hope the food will improve.

My mum came into Highfield Hall in May 2018 and the change in her is remarkable. All of the staff are amazing, all kind, caring, generous of themselves and nothing is too much trouble. The cleanliness, atmosphere, furnishings and food are like those of an excellent hotel. Mum's personality is friendly
and she likes a bit of fun. However, that bubbly personality had begun to disappear when she lived at home. Mum's memory is also very short (she has Alzheimer's). Now, with the input of the staff, she is receiving the necessary stimulation in abundance and her personality is coming back to the surface again. Mum is able to walk without a stick or frame and in order to keep that ability in her, the staff take her out pretty much daily for a little walk - literally going the extra mile to ensure her needs are met. I tell Mum she is like Her Majesty because she is treated so well. I would definitely recommend Highfield Hall for anyone looking for a care home with a difference.

Although my relative was only in Highfield for a few short months on palliative care, her stay was unquestionably beneficial. The care was so friendly yet professional. My aunt was treated with fondness and positively thrived in a home in tip-top condition with first class staff.

My mum's care on the nursing unit is very good. The nurses and care staff are lovely and always try to meet Mum's needs. I spend quite a lot of time here over a week, so if I have concerns I can always speak to the nurse that's available.

My sister has been a resident in Highfield Hall since the end of 2017 when she became unable to cope in with independent living. Now both her health and wellbeing has improved through the support and care she has received from all members of staff. She arrived at Highfield Hall a shadow of the person
I knew, she needed a carer to visit four times a day but was still refusing to eat, care for her personal hygiene or communicate. Since being a resident she has gained weight, is eating and is extremely communicative when I visit.
When she started to slip back into not eating, a member of staff went to a local chip shop, my sister's favourite meal has always been chip shop fish and chips, that to me showed the staff are prepared to "go that extra mile."
Also now enjoys the company of staff and residents, is keen to take part in all the activities provided, which are many and varied, was wonderful on one visit to see her singing the old songs with the entertainers provided on that day.

My Mum has been a resident on the Pandora Suite, Highfield Care home for over 5 years. She has Alzheimer's. I would say she is as happy as she can be having such a debilitating illness. Staff are very friendly, treating residents with care, compassion and empathy, often going the extra mile. Residents
retain their dignity and are treated with respect. There is also a lightness of spirits on the unit. Trips out and activities provided make a welcome, pleasant change, adding normality to their lives. The home itself is welcoming to relatives and visitors. Assistance is on hand to allay anxieties family members may have. The home grounds are kept to a high standard. Should anyone be seeking care for a loved one, I would have no hesitation in recommending Highfield Care home.
