The Manse Care is a Nursing Home set around an elegant courtyard and gardens in the heart of Kirkham. They are a dual registered residential and nursing home offering 43 spacious, fully equipped en-suite bedrooms and extensive communal areas.

Combining the style and homeliness of the original Manse for the Kirkham Church dating from 1812 with high standards of care and the latest amenities and services of its purposes built residential and nursing facilities, The Manse offers a true homely experience.

They complete comprehensive care assessments which are personalised and take the time to understand each residents interests, preferences and needs so they can develop and deliver a full package of care and support for complete wellbeing.

My father is enjoying his stay at The Manse. He is happy with the level of care and assistance offered by the staff and the freedom he is afforded. The food is very good and the staff are very friendly. I cannot praise the home enough. I would recommend this home to anyone who is looking for a residence
for their loved one in their later years.

My mother spent a few weeks in The Manse on discharge from the hospital. They were very responsive to her needs and kind in their dealings with her. And she greatly enjoyed the food! It was my first time having to find care for a relative and the management staff were very helpful in their dealings
with me too.

I have been asked to review the Manse by the staff and am only too glad to do so. Firstly, my Father has only good words to say about the home. Every time I have visited over the last three months words like "it's brilliant you couldn't get anywhere better" come to mind. We have shown him other places
he could stay and he again states you couldn't get better than here. My experience of the staff is that they are friendly and knowledgeable and the premises are clean and tidy. I have heard no bad reports about the food and my Father says it is very good. He enjoys banter with the staff who are only too eager to engage in conversation with him and assist him with any needs he may have. The staff seem to work very well together and look like a happy team but the main thing is my Father is very content and seems to be thriving at The Manse.

Good friendly Nursing Home. Seems to suffer currently with staff shortages. This was not so a while ago. Maybe a difficulty Homes are generally suffering.
My wife is seldom ready at the time we have asked to take her out. On one occasion we missed the hospital appointment because we had to wait too
long. Although the pick-up time has been put in the diary, staff are often surprised we have arrived. She is vegetarian and picky so meals are difficult, kitchen staff try but it’s not easy. Overall, I would assess The Manse to be of a good standard but it was better in earlier years.

Mum never wanted to go into a home but eventually had to. The Manse was our first choice, having looked around the area and luckily they had a room free. Mum is really happy living there, supported and very well looked after. Mum was always a good cook and expects good food. The kitchen team do a great
job and the chef spoke to Mum about what she'd like and could manage, as her ability to swallow deteriorated. I even ate a bit of her quiche one day to test it because it looked so nice, just as good as mine! The whole team do a great job and we are so grateful for the care they take with our mum.

In general, the staff are kind, helpful and efficient. On occasions when I have left a telephone message, trying to contact the Nursing home by the answer machine, I have often not received a reply to my messages. It was lovely to meet for the celebration of The Queen's Platinum Jubilee. It was helpful,
when we met last week and spoke to you. Although I have not yet seen the remedial work to my mother's room, thank you for setting it in action.

Mum had a stroke and has been in The Manse since November 2014. During this time, we feel Mum has been cared for well. The staff and management are friendly and welcoming and Mum's room is lovely and clean. Food always looks yummy. Pre covid, all the residents seemed to really enjoy the entertainment
put on. Lots of modernisation being done at the moment too. Thank you, it means a lot knowing Mum is in good hands.

Aaliyah

Aaliyah Naseem

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2022

Aaliyah joined The Manse in 2022 as a Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead initially making her way up to becoming a Home Manager from October 2023. She comes with significant experience from the NHS mainly working with the elderly in the stroke rehabilitation unit where she developed strong clinical skills over the years as a Registered General Nurse. Since her time at The Manse, Aaliyah has been instrumental in shaping the compliance regime as the Clinical Lead ensuring the Home continues to deliver the highest standards across all fronts. She has also established strong partnerships with the stakeholders including the NHS, Lancashire County Council, Local GPs and Pharmacies to name a few. But most importantly, during this time, she has forged a very strong relationship with our residents and their families who hold her in the highest regard while she continues to ensure they are cared for with the highest of standards, love and compassion. We are privileged to have her at the helm at The Manse Care and in her role as the Home Manager, she is equally privileged to have the opportunity to continue to make a difference to our residents and their families.

Jennifer Brooks

Job Title: Clinical Lead

Joined: 2023

Jennifer joined The Manse Care in September 2023 and comes with an extensive 40 years of nursing background. Her experiences span across NHS as well as Adult Social Care where she has held significant senior positions including management and leadership roles where she excelled in leading teams and homes and delivering outstanding person-centred care. Over the years she has led and delivered outstanding outcomes across compliance in varying settings and with her experience we are now ready to take The Manse Care to the next stage on our compliance journey with our aspirations to become an “Outstanding” home. We are delighted to have had Jennifer join us and together look forward to making a difference to our local community and the residents and their families we support.

Hello, I am Gary and I am proud to be part of The Manse Care as a Head Chef. To me is the most fulfilling role at the home as it truly enriches the lives of our residents on a daily basis. If one thing that the residents look forward to the most, it’s got to be good quality homemade food that creates an experience, reminisces memories, and plays that role is something I take a lot of pride in. Having worked as a Chef all around the UK and across the Atlantic in the US, I bring with me a vast culinary experience that allows me to create some amazing menus and give our residents a great experience at The Manse Care.
