Oaklands Nursing Home provides care for older people with physical frailty and physical disabilities in a quiet and comfortable environment. Ranging from nursing, residential and respite care to convalescent care, Oaklands ensures each resident gets the type of care which will enable them to relax and feel most at home.

As well as three well-furnished lounges, a hair salon and a separate dining room, Oaklands provides plenty of space for residents to spend time together and with friends and family, who are always encouraged to visit the home.

Disabled access allows everyone to benefit from the spacious garden which can be used throughout the summer months.

The home is clean and tidy, the food very good. Care staff are very attentive and willing to respond to requests to improve the level of care. Visitors are always made to feel welcome and encourage to play a part in the activities of the home. A number of entertainment and wellbeing activities are provided
including a weekly church service. There is a family and friends group.
The management are very approachable.

I have had connections with Oaklands Nursing Home for approximately 15 years. My involvement has been two-fold: family and friends became residents and through church visits. I, along with other church members, take a service every 6 weeks on Wednesday afternoons. The staff are amazing, caring, compassionate,
understanding and supportive. They provide an excellent level of care for all the residents and their families no matter the situation.
It is a wonderful, happy place and I have every confidence in all the staff. It is well run, efficient and organised. My own sister spent 3 months rehabilitation there after coming out of hospital and I cannot thank the staff enough. They went out of their way to make sure she has the best of everything- as they do for all residents. It has been a privilege to take church services and although now retired, our new pastor and other church members continue to visit. I still keep in touch with everyone involved.

After an agonising discussion with my grandad, Oaklands Nursing Home was the only home in the area which he felt was most suitable, and it was the most highly recommended Nursing Home in the area. Even though he was only in Oaklands a short while before sadly passing away, the outstanding care he received
was second to none, all the staff and the manager were fantastic, even the maintenance department were so helpful in putting grandads oversized flat-screen TV up on the wall for him which helped make the room feel more homely to him, we were encouraged to personalise the room for him so we filled it with lots of family photos. The communication was outstanding with regards to my grandads care plan, my family and I cannot praise Oaklands enough.

My Nan asked to go into a home after a few months in hospital. She previously lived in sheltered accommodation and with carers and has a number of health problems and so required nursing. My brothers and I chose Oaklands Care Home because the manager seemed caring and really knowledgeable on what help
my Nan was likely to need. The staff seem engaged with the residents and we’ve noticed that there are some improvements being carried out at the home and hope this will benefit our nan and her enjoyment of life in her later years.

I have always felt that the very best quality of care is given in this excellent establishment. It is never nice having to find a care home for someone who used to be so independent although, with the super friendly nurses and choice on offer, I feel that this is a wonderful place for my mother-in-law
to be and I feel reassured in knowing how well she is being looked after.

Two of my family have now had the privilege of staying at this fantastic care home. The staff are really friendly and go the extra mile to make sure all needs are met. They genuinely seem to love their jobs and so nice to see them laughing and chatting with the residents. I've even joined Nan for lunch
before and their food is delicious - better than I cook at home!

I qualified as a nurse in 2004 and have worked in various areas of the NHS and the Independent Sector, as a nurse, care coordinator and registered manager. My journey into management in the independent sector started in 2011 and I have really enjoyed working in a variety of care settings since. I started working at Oaklands in 2022 and became a manager in 2023.


Working within care over the last few years has not been without its challenges but I am extremely proud of our team at Oaklands for their resilience and dedication to supporting and caring for our ladies, gentlemen and each other as team members. They ensure that care and compassion are balanced with fun and laughter doing their best to ensure that all who work or live in Oaklands enjoy their day.

I have worked at Oaklands Nursing Home since 2008 and have worked in all the departments within the home. I found that I got great satisfaction working as a care assistant because I could really get to know our ladies and gentlemen and support them with all their needs. I love seeing our ladies and gentlemen enjoying their life within our home. It’s great to know that I have made a difference and seeing the ladies' and gentlemen’s smiles is heartwarming. Within the last couple of years, I have enjoyed my career development at Oaklands, progressing from a Care Assistant to a Senior Care Assistant and I am now currently the Deputy Manager. I am looking forward to my further development and supporting the service to ensure that we continue to give the excellent service that Oaklands is renowned for.
