With a team devoted to enriching the lives of their residents, Peel Gardens is a thriving home. Several of the team have been there for over 10 years, giving it that warm, family feel.

The home has an excellent reputation locally for its dementia care, nursing and palliative care, with the team also offering respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers who need a short break themselves, with the peace of mind that their loved one is being well cared for.

The local community is embraced into life at the home, from musicians and singers who regularly perform, to local school children coming in to spend time with the residents. The local pastor regularly visits, with residents also invited to events at the church.

There is also a bowling club behind the home, where the residents can play a game of bowls or enjoy coffee and cake in the park.

With its own newly-refurbished hair and nail salon, residents can enjoy weekly appointments with the mobile hairdresser and a spot of pampering. And a chiropodist also visits regularly.

The enclosed, sensory gardens at the home are beautiful, having had a huge investment from not-for-profit provider Sanctuary Care to transform them into a wonderful space. And friends at the local Colne Horticultural Society have recently planted daffodil bulbs ready for the spring!

This summer the gardens have been a hub of activity, with the residents growing their own fruit and vegetables from onions and tomatoes to strawberries. These have then harvested their produce for the chef to use in the kitchen, giving them such a sense of achievement.

In the dining room the residents enjoy delicious home-cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to fish and chip Fridays, home-made soups and lighter bites, with freshly baked cakes for afternoon tea.

This is the best home my husband has been in. It has a very good atmosphere as all the staff are caring and compassionate. In my opinion, my husband could not be in a better place. He has settled very well and seems quite content. I can't praise the staff enough and I would also like to mention the
excellent housekeepers and laundry staff who do an amazing job.

Peel Gardens is always clean and maintained to a high standard. Staff are always friendly and attentive to all residents. Mum's dementia is declining and often sleepy when I visit, but I believe is much more active in the evenings. If she runs out of anything, they call and ask for it. Overall as a
family, we are happy with the service she is receiving.

I visit my mum at Peel Gardens several times a week. It is a very well presented home with an excellent management team, highly experienced nurses and diligent care staff who work so hard to create a happy, homely atmosphere. The high standards throughout, transparency and the genuine way the team endorse
dignity and respect for others are exemplary. With the continued support and kindness of the team, we feel that Mum has the best quality of care available for her needs.

My father had been in Peel Gardens for 16 months when I was told by the doctor that he was dying. The care, compassion and love that was given to my father was outstanding. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the way that everyone looked after and cared for not only my father but also myself. Everyone
made my father's last days as comfortable as they possibly could. Absolutely outstanding service.

My great-grandma lived at Peel Gardens for a few years. She was loved dearly by her family but the love and care she received was greatly appreciated. All the staff were lovely with my gran and all the family. We were always welcomed each visit and when she passed away we were shown compassion.

Very friendly, caring staff, very helpful, no problems. The bedrooms are lovely and light, very clean. The dining area with TV where everyone can mix or stay in their room if they prefer. Food is very good, plenty of it. Nice, friendly atmosphere. The sitting area outside is lovely, especially on a
sunny day. Management and nursing staff are there to sort out any problems or worries you may have and talk to them. Overall, very good.
