Standing in four acres of landscape grounds with spectacular views of the surrounding Lancashire countryside, Springhill Care Home provides top quality luxury en-suite accommodation, and personalised care and support for adults and older people with a variety of needs.

The Care Home and Care Centre are both therapeutic but homely, designed for care, yet beautifully appointed. Springhill Care Home has been designed from the outset with the aim of providing an atmosphere that is both supportive and purposeful, aiming to strike a good balance between appropriate stimulation and calm.

At Springhill, everyone is encouraged to continue living life to the full. Even with an awareness of limitations residents are encouraged to enjoy the benefits of a lifestyle support team, who work alongside care and support staff enabling residents to enjoy a range of activities.

Many people enjoy gathering for a coffee morning, exploring the morning papers and having a chat while others enjoy playing games, arts and crafts, pottery, plants and gardening. The staff were very caring and compassionate. Dad was treated with care and all the help needed nothing was too much trouble for any staff member whether cleaning, catering, nursing or personal care. The family were made very welcome 24 hours a day when dad became ill and sadly passed away. We as a
family highly recommend this home.

During his two stays in Springhill, my husband received very good care form the professional (for the most part) and friendly staff, with whom he built up several close rapport. His end of life care was exceptional, with love and tenderness being given to him. At all times I was kept informed of his
treatment and all aspects of his care were discussed. The staff were also supportive of me during my recovery from major heart surgery.

I got a call at lunchtime to say my 93-year-old Grandma had had a fall and they were concerned she may have damaged her hip. I went over and spent four hours of my Birthday afternoon waiting for a paramedic to arrive. The staff had given her dignity by a screen around her. Grandma was made so comfortable
with pillows and mats beneath her that she slept most of the time. She was visited by so many staff while waiting for the paramedics, all who showed great care and compassion.
After the paramedics had assessed her and found her to be "shook up" but no damage we sat in the dining area with her and were entertained by the staff and a new resident singing and dancing Cilla Black numbers! This brought a tear to my eye and made my Birthday afternoon Brilliant!

When my mum went to Springhill Care Home we were so happy because of the staff and care is brilliant. My mum from day one is being looked after like a queen. So to anyone whose mother is looking for a good care home, Springhill Care Home is the best.

My father moved into Springhill care home on the 4/09/18 under palliative care, until his death on the 27/09/18.
He had a chronic muscle wasting disease called Myasthenia Gravis which had taken most of his muscles but had begun to affect his bowel and swallowing.
From the initial enquiry about availability,
we were treated excellently and very professionally by both staff and management.
They carried out a full assessment of his needs with dignity and care.
From the moment he arrived, he was made to feel comfortable, safe and happy.
The staff were keen to understand Dads history to help them bond with him and talk about his life
We can not fault the genuine care, compassion and attention to detail that all the staff and nurses gave.
I know he had only three short weeks in the home, but it was the best three he had over the last four months.
The staff at the home are angels, we can’t thank them enough for the care and support they gave to dad, mum and ourselves.

My wife was transferred to Springhill Care Home 18 months ago with an anticipated life expectancy of 3 to 4 months. With the dedication of the staff, she moved from being fed through a tube and being bedfast to eating normal meals in the restaurant and sitting in a wheelchair.


The nursing and ancillary

staff were most caring. Everyone made a point of speaking and being very friendly. The activities staff provided various entertainments to keep the residents occupied.


The home is run as a 5-star hotel.

Springhill is not the cheapest of care homes, but the care is excellent for both patients and relatives.
Any minor niggles are always dealt with immediately.
The best testament for me was when I took Dad for a hospital visit. We arrived back and he said 'Oh it's good to be home'. That meant a lot
to me.

My mum first went to Springhill needing both nursing care and dementia care. She lived there for just short of 5 years. Over those years, she was treated with care, dignity, professionalism, warmth and lots of hugs by some wonderful people. Every resident is different. They are all afforded as much
independence as their condition will allow. Mum walked using a frame until this became too much effort. As mum's abilities declined, they introduced new equipment (e.g. special armchair) to keep her comfortable and safe at all times. When she could no longer remember to signal for assistance if she wanted to go to the bathroom during the night, they didn't barrier her in bed. Instead, they simply put a pressure mat down; so she automatically alerted staff as soon as a foot touched the floor. She had her hair and nails done every week and very much appreciated it too! In the earlier days, she did painting, cake decorating and other activities. She was treated like a person always.

Springhill Care Home is excellent. The staff work hard and are very friendly and helpful. They make what a very stressful time more easy to cope with. The staff are what makes the care home "great".


Everyone including the kitchen staff is absolutely fantastic and offer a very high level of care.
Springhill

has an excellent reputation and I think that is mainly due to the staff, I can't praise them enough from reception, nurses, care staff, kitchen staff and cleaners. They all do a brilliant job and are very helpful. I only gave the facilities satisfactory because I think the ensuite bathrooms could do with an upgrade.

My Mother moved to Springhill in May 2013 and to be perfectly honest this was the best decision we as a family have ever made on behalf of my Mum.
The care and support was second to none on every level of the staff members, from the devoted carers, nursing staff and to the management. I know my Mum
was very happy here from the day she moved in to the day she sadly passed away on the 19th May 2018. She always had a lovely smile for anybody who came into contact with her. I was always made to feel welcome and felt like it was my extended family.

My mother has been a resident here for the past four years. She is in the dementia unit but has not got severe symptoms. Her conditions of diabetes, poor mobility, leg ulcers, involves outside input from different NHS teams. This is all coordinated as soon as they are needed.
The staff, from carers,
nurses, ancillary, maintenance, receptionists, office staff and management are fantastic, approachable, professional and treat my mum and myself with respect, dignity and care.
My mum and I have special relationships with certain members of staff and they genuinely love my mum and keep me informed on her mental status and condition.
The banter and contact with carers is the most important thing to my mum and they ensure this is present all the time.
Continuity of carers is kept the same, team leaders lead the teams professionally and with an understanding of the pressures they are under in a challenging, very busy unit. They themselves are supported by the nurse who is an amazing clinical lead, who makes herself available at any time for residents, carers and families.
I work in a care home myself and this home, Springhill, is the best.

The grounds, building and upkeep are outstanding. Room s are spacious and peaceful and very comfortable and welcoming. Staff and chefs outstanding, polite, helpful, understanding, quick,k to patients, clean and they listen to patient and families.

Springhill care home has been a wonderful place for our mum. Having suffered a major stroke, leaving her with limited capacity, they have anticipated her care needs and looked after her like she was one of the family. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care, attention and compassion they show and

Mum was transferred to Springhill after an awful experience at a previous care home. The staff have treated Mum with care, respect and compassion. Nothing has been too much trouble for them. Relatives have constantly been informed of Mum's illness and medications and it has been a pleasure to visit
this care home.


Springhill is a happy place for the residents and there is always laughter and a buzz of activities going on when we have visited. I cannot recommend this care home enough. Excellent!

My mother was admitted following a serious car accident which left her with severe brain damage and partially paralysed. She was also unable to speak. I found the way she was treated was absolutely brilliant - always kept clean and respectful of her needs. The staff were always friendly and respectful
and the most important thing of all - they cared and showed they cared.
