I have visited my Grandma on many occasions since she arrived at Meadowview and I have been so impressed every single time. We moved her from another care home where she was not getting the care she deserved and Meadowview has absolutely exceeded our expectations. The staff are phenomenal and always
present when you visit. They know each resident extremely well and take care of them like family. The entertainment and activities that are organised on a daily basis are amazing and I look forward to seeing all the updates on everything they have been doing.
It's lovely to see the carers take such care of the residents and allow them the dignity and enjoyment of life they all absolutely deserve.

As an only child it is hard to see a parent in a care home. My mum has been in Meadowview for over a year now and I can honestly say it was the best decision accepting a placement there. Mum is well cared for and no longer constantly agitated. I feel supported by the staff who are always willing to
talk and offer advice. I would not hesitate to recommend Meadowview.

After almost two years my mum has resided here she has truly settled in. The staff are amazing from laundry to the domestic staff to the carers and site staff they all do an amazing job and treat my mum with the utmost care and dignity. The only criticism I would have is my mum's room, it is extremely
basic, small and a bit dated with cheap furniture and furnishings, such as the curtain rail, for example, the stoppers are missing off the ends, the curtains don’t fit very well, the walls are just emulsion and the water supply to her sink is very poor. She had to move out of her original room because the water supply was almost non-existent. I would like her room to be updated and feel more homely.

Reply from Karen Garner, Manager at Meadowview Care Home

Thank you for your lovely review in relation to the care and support here at Meadowview. Thank you for also bringing your concerns in relation to the room to my attention. I have had a good look this afternoon and do agree, this room requires some refurbishment. As a result, the following actions will be taken as a matter of urgency, new curtain rail and curtains to be ordered/fitted. A new bedroom furniture pack is to be ordered comprising a wardrobe and bedside cabinet. We will also look at trying to increase the water pressure in this area of the home if we can.

Meadowview is an outstanding Care Home. Residents are treated with the care, respect and attention you would wish for your loved one. Nothing is too much trouble. The atmosphere in the home is friendly and caring. Plenty of activities are arranged for the residents and plenty of external people visit
such as singers, school children. I would certainly recommend Meadowview without any hesitation.

My wife was placed in this home via social services. I was happy with the care she received. Her room was always clean. She did not participate in activities but loved the activity staff. The staff were always very pleasant. It was unfortunate she couldn't return to Meadowview Care Home after she fractured
her hip. She now requires nursing care.

Before Mum went into the home the manager met me to show me the room Mum would be occupying. It was a clean, bright room, with a comfortable armchair, wardrobe, small table, sink with cupboard and a T.V. I was also told I could take in familiar items of Mum's eg photos, throws, cushions, dementia clock
etc. When Mum was in the home the care staff were amazing, treated Mum with dignity, gave her the time she needed to tell them her needs. Mum was made up with a pair of sparkly socks she won at Bingo, proud of a painted plant pot with flowers. Whenever I rang, which was often the staff were warm and friendly. If I had any concerns they were happy to listen and give me reassurance, which I greatly appreciated. I enjoyed my visit on Mother's Day, sandwiches and cakes were served - all the residents were chatty and obviously having a good time. In fact, on all my visits, residents were always well cared for with staff chatting and laughing with them. Nothing was too much trouble. I really didn't want my Mum to go into a care home but Meadowview was all that I wanted for my Mum, from management, carers, cook and laundry and cleaners were all extremely helpful. When Mum passed away a carer sat with her until somebody from the funeral directors came for Mum, this was at 4 am in the morning. Tea, listening ear and cuddles were all given. They proved their weight in gold for someone who didn't want this for her Mum. Thank you everybody for the amazing care and support. Mum always had drinks when needed, her room was clean and bright. Her hair was great as a hairdresser was in attendance. If and when my turn comes to go into a care home I hope and pray it would be as good as Meadowview and all their staff.

What a lovely afternoon we had for Mother's Day. The activities team did a fantastic job and my mum absolutely loved it. The afternoon tea was well presented and they made it really special. I always feel very welcome at Meadowview and it is a lovely, friendly atmosphere. The staff really know my mum
and attend to her needs well. After my reluctancy to put mum into a home, I couldn't be happier in the knowledge she is happy, cared for and looked after.

My mum has been in Meadowview Care Home for a few years now and although she has become less mobile she has not become unhappy.
June was an important month for both Mum and I as my brother and his wife were visiting from Australia and would be seeing Mum for the very first time since she had been in
the care home.
I have a very good friendly relationship with all the carers and staff at this fantastic home and each one of those people offered the same level of hospitality to my family, they left happy in the knowledge that Mum was being very well cared for.
I highly recommend this care home that Mum has settled into as if it was her own home, thank you to everyone at Meadowview Care Home for being there for Mum, me and my family.

My mother-in-law went in on emergency respite. The care and empathy she received was excellent. The activities she was involved in were very good. Staff were always clean and nicely presented. If it would have been closer to where we lived, we would have been more than happy for her to stay at Meadowview
Care Home. Your staff do an amazing job. I also work in a dementia unit, so I understand how hard the job is.

As most people will understand, making the decision for Mum to move to care was a very tough one. The guilt was bad, particularly as she is a Wigan resident so her coming to Warrington was a decision made to make life easier for me visiting. Saying that it is a decision I am so glad was taken. Since
she moved in she is so happy. She has become sociable, joining in the many activities with energy, which is so different to Mum pre-care. The home is spotless and the staff are wonderful, nothing is ever too much trouble. Her room is so lovely particularly now she has her personal bits around her. Ask Mum what she thinks and she raves about the food and the staff who are her new "friends". Cannot complain about any part of her care. It's very comforting and has eased any guilt left. Thank you to all the staff you are all 5 stars.

My mum has being living in Meadow View for over 4 years and as a family, we are grateful to all staff for the care my mother gets and the security we have knowing she is happy, safe and well looked after.

always made visits possible, even in pods through glass.

Mum has been at Meadow View for the last few years and she is so happy and content. It's peace of mind for me living so far away but knowing that Mum is very well cared for makes it easier for me. She loves the staff and I'm sure they love her too for her mischievous character!
Mum is always clean
and tidy and has her hair nails and feet done regularly.
The home is always clean and tidy and we are always welcomed whenever we go.

The care home is well run. The staff are cheerful, friendly and very caring. They go above and beyond what is expected of them. Nothing is too much trouble.
I was apprehensive about my mum going into a care home but I realised very quickly that going into Meadow View had definitely been the correct
decision for her. The change in her was unbelievable. She is always smiling and laughing and so happy. She enjoys and takes an active part in the activities from dominoes to the daily singalongs!
She is certainly benefiting from the wonderful care she is receiving and the friendly, almost family-like, environment.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.576)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.576) out of 10 for Meadowview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.676 for Meadowview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (6 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.676

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Meadowview Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 41 registered maximum number of service users is 8.2, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
