We are so pleased that we found The Old Rectory for our dad's final eighteen months. The care has been absolutely brilliant - the staff looked after Dad with great compassion and dignity and we will always be grateful for their care of him - and of us - during his last days. The home is warm and supportive
of residents and their families. The facilities are fine - Dad particularly liked sitting in the lovely garden with the squirrels, rabbits and bird life and watching the narrow boats float by on the canal. The home is very, very clean and is always fresh. The food and drink are excellent and the activities programme, both communally and individually, is carefully tailored to residents' needs. All in all, we could not have hoped for a better place for Dad to spend his final days. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

The Old Rectory Grappenhall, Warrington. Can I thank all the staff this year for all the hard work and the continuing care you have given my mother throughout all the difficult times we all have faced together as a unit of care. My lovely mother has been going through some difficult times coming to
terms with dementia and all the ranges of difficulties coping with it. The staff have stepped up to the mark with their care and durability during this time of hardship. I recommend this nursing home - with no doubt. One of the best in the area. From a loving daughter.

When Mum had a stroke in her mid-80's in 2015 and was left incapacitated, we were informed by her consultant she would not survive for more than 6 months. After conducting careful research and visiting several local nursing homes my siblings and I decided The Old Rectory was the best place for her to
spend what time she had left. This is a decision we have never regretted! Fully 8 years after the consultant's diagnosis, Mum has not only survived but has thrived with the constant high-quality care and attention given by the home. Not only is the home exceedingly well run and the staff always welcoming, personable and pleasant, but also and most importantly, it is apparent everyone genuinely cares for the well-being and welfare of the residents. We would heartily recommend the Old Rectory to all comers.

Mum was severely disabled with a stroke in April 2023 and came to the Old Rectory in June 2023. She is able to speak but is unable to do anything for herself. The staff have shown nothing but excellent care and kindness to mum. Mum is treated as an individual and says how lovely the staff are with
her. She says the food is absolutely delicious. The home itself feels like a large country home rather than a medical/care institution which is so important for those who have had to leave their own homes. The family is thankful it found the Old Rectory.

Mum keeps telling me “You couldn’t have found anywhere better. The staff are all lovely”, which is exactly what you want to hear from a vulnerable loved one who is no longer able to care for themself. The Old Rectory has a homely feel to it, feeling more like a large country house than an institution.
The fact there are carpets on the floors rather than the usual vinyl flooring adds greatly to the feeling of homeliness. The staff are lovely and easy to approach. Any concerns are quickly addressed and dealt with. Lots of the staff have worked there for many years which says a lot about how the home is run.

Mum has been in The Old Rectory for 2 years now. From day one I knew that she would be looked after very well. All the staff are very caring and respectful of mum's needs. The staff go above and beyond when caring for Mum. They have activities nearly every day in the day room and you can see the residents
love it. Mum could not be in a better home.

My mum has been a resident at the home for 17 months. She is very well cared for- they know her well and are lovely with her. She is always clean, dressed well and her clothes are always clean. She enjoys the weekday activities and is happy. I feel very reassured that she is safe and settled.

Mum has lived at the home for over 6 years and she feels respected, safe and comfortable. The home is well-managed and caring. There a many staff members who have worked at The Old Rectory Nursing Home for several years and know the residents and their families really well, they make the atmosphere
feel 'homely' and caring. The staff do take time to talk to the residents and family members even when they are very busy, this includes not only the nursing team but also other hard-working staff members at the home.


I have found communication with the home is excellent, if there has been a change in mum's health any decision-making about her needs has been fully discussed with me as her Next of Kin, and mum's personal care plan always takes into account her thoughts and wishes too.

My dad was discharged from the hospital to The Old Rectory Nursing Home after suffering a stroke. The care that he was given was excellent. The staff know all their residents and are caring and compassionate, taking time to talk and interact with them. They also really support families at what can often
be a difficult time. My mum-in-law also lived at The Old Rectory and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

I have visited numerous care homes but I have never visited one as good as The Old Rectory Nursing Home. The staff are caring and very efficient. The patients are happy and well looked after. Visitors are made very welcome. The building and grounds are well maintained. I could not praise this care home

My mum has spent 10 weeks respite in The Old Rectory Nursing Home. Her care has been exceptional. The staff are wonderful. The room she has is like a home from home and the catering services and laundry services are brilliant. Nothing is too much trouble. My mother was unable to look after herself before
she came to The Old Rectory but now she feels that she is able to return home with confidence. I would not hesitate to contact The Old Rectory again if the need arises.

Very attentive nurses and staff. Anything you need, no need to worry, they will get it for you. Entertainment is good, one to one trip was excellent and I loved it. I also loved the trip to the Rams Head.

When visiting a close friend I was delighted and amazed at the welcome, surroundings, cleanliness and everything. The staff were exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. I came with two colleagues and we had afternoon tea in a beautiful room and we chose music from Alexa. The food and service were
five-star, as good as any restaurant. There were plenty of things for the residents to do all year round. The parking was good and the gardens were beautiful. The places I visited were immaculate. My resident friend loves being here. Should I ever need to stay in a care home, I just hope it is this one.

Excellent nursing home. The carers, nurses and staff go well beyond their duties. All the areas are always clean & tidy. Dad wants for nothing and always has a great choice of food and drink. Although he doesn't venture out, the grounds are very well maintained and very pleasant should you wish to sit
