The Old Vicarage & The Willows Care Home has just been refurbished and is undoubtedly amongst the finest in the region for resident comfort and quality.

It is situated on the outskirts of Burtonwood village in a quiet, rural location but is less than a 5-minute drive from the M62. It is a versatile home that provides high quality, personalised care packages for a wide range of long-term or guest residents.

This is a 59 bed home with two distinct and separate facilities: The Old Vicarage is an impressive and charming listed building, beautifully restored and refurbished to the highest standard. The Old Vicarage & The Willows Care Home is designed for both residential and nursing clients, with most bedrooms having en-suites.

The home has developed a great reputation with the Regulators and the Local Authority for providing excellent care in a wonderful environment.

The Willows Unit is a purpose built 25-bed extension especially designed for those experiencing varying degrees of dementia. It is a wonderful modern facility which has many specialist features designed to best support the residents living with dementia. All bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the home has two lounges, an activities room and a large conservatory with access to extensive private landscaped gardens.

Aunty loves this home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The nursing home is excellent and I love going there to visit here.

I find the staff to be fantastic with my Nana. The staff are; open, honest and truthful. My Nana seems happy and content at The Vicarage. As Family members, we are always made to feel welcome and often chat with the staff, whilst they are helping my nana (Nana enjoys having conversations with them whilst
they are caring for her). The staff are quick to answer/respond to any concerns we raise. I would say the activities that are provided are excellent but I would prefer more activities than currently. I have made a suggestion so all residents can watch a TV in the communal lounge and I fully trust this will be considered. I fully trust The Old Vicarage with the care of my Nana.

I am very pleased that my mum settled at the old vicarage very quickly after her move in February.
It is a homely and safe friendly place to visit with excellent security.
The staff are excellent, very caring and interactive, responding quickly to residents.
I feel included in my mums care and have
regular updates.

My father has been a resident of The Willows within The Old Vicarage for just over a month, having been transformed from another home at the start of March 2017. The move went smoothly and my father settled in well. Before deciding on The Old Vicarage, I visited several care homes and this facility
suited my father's needs and requirements the best. On my first visit (unannounced on a weekend evening) I was very impressed with the care home. The staff were friendly, helpful, informative and nothing was too much trouble. After watching the staff interacting with the residents, I had no reservation in putting my father's name down for a place at The Willows.
In the intervening period between expressing an interest and the move, the management team at the home were brilliant, keeping us informed of room availability and adjusting on likely timescales. As my father's vascular dementia continues apace, I have no doubt that we made the right decision and have no hesitation in recommending The Old Vicarage

My brother has been here for several years now.
The carers and entertainment staff have got to know him well and have a lovely rapport with him, laughing at his dry sense of humour which lightens the darker side of life in a dementia home.
Not only do they care for him but they are always there for
us, understanding the pain we go through and offering support when needed.
The current management and staff always find time to speak and I know I can approach them at any time about any concerns I may have with the knowledge that they will listen and do something about it.
The home itself is always clean and bright with a friendly atmosphere.

We could not be more delighted at the care provided by the team here. No matter what time we visit, there is always supervision of the residents. They are all dressed and clean. The general ambience is calm and the love and kindness, together with respecting the dignity of the residents is clearly evident.
The little touches are also there e.g. giving hand massage and moisturiser after cutting nails. The staff all have a sense of humour and are compassionate towards the residents and their families. This home is truly a home and a wonderful place to be.

The staff are all nice and caring but we need more staff and staff training. Clothes go missing all the time, and we don't know where they go. Sometimes they end up in other residents rooms.

Occasionally there is the issue that clothing items which are very similar are not returned to their rightful owners, but we do all we can to ensure that this does not happen. We ask that all clothing is labelled. The laundry rooms are organised in such a way to ensure that everyone has laundered items returned to them in room numbered baskets but despite the best will in the world, and a laundry team which is very used to running the service very smoothly, very occasionally, something may have been returned in error to the wrong person. We apologise if this has happened and we will do all we can to help identify any missing item, so please speak to the team who care for your loved one and they will be more than happy to help. Recently I found myself looking around for a care home for my dad having looked at a few you get a feel for the type of home you have in your head and how you would like your loved ones cared for, this for me was by far the best with its modern décor and its really bubbly staff that like a good genuine
laugh and a joke with the residents and engaging with them. I go in most days even taking my black Labrador in who gets made a big fuss off, it's great to see my dad smiling again as he went through a period of not being well and losing the interest in a lot of things, this place gets a big thumbs up from me, so to all the staff keep up the good work.

My brother has been living at The Old Vicarage for around 18 months and I can not fault any part of the service they provide. All staff are warm and welcoming and have a great rapport with m y brother. I would not hesitate to recommend the Old Vic.

My Mother in Law has ongoing health issues. The staff give regular updates by phone. They keep me well informed. I can't praise the staff enough for the ongoing care she receives.

The care provided is second to none. You are made welcome from the second you walk through the door to the minute you leave. The staff are very friendly and approachable and the place is so homely.
The home has started to have a refurbishment and is looking fantastic....Lets hope the good work continues!

I am extremely happy with all aspects of care my grandfather gets from exceptional food (and the encouragement to eat!) to personal care my grandad receives. Each member of staff has bonded with him and knows who he is and his character. They are very good at communicating any concerns with us. Most
importantly my grandad has dignity, he always is clean, well dressed and cared for. I think this is a wonderful nursing home. I would recommend this to anyone seeking excellent care for their loved one! (I could go on with about all they do!)
