Located in Blackpool, Acorn Nursing Home is a specialist nursing centre catering for older residents with a variety of different needs and requirements, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson, Dementia, similar conditions and palliative care. The team are able to offer long term and respite care.

Forty single bedrooms offer en suite facilities as well as a nursing call system, ensuring residents have a private space where they feel comfortable and can receive the care and support they need.

The team strive to ensure that Acorn Nursing Home is a home-from-home for residents. Being a smaller setting, they are able to get to know each person personally and create a community feel across the setting where everyone feels valued and respected and loved ones are always welcome.

My dad was in Acorn for two and a half years. The care he was given was outstanding. They gave my dad a quality of life that we couldn't give at home. The manager and her team gave my dad excellent care and attention whilst he was in their care.

Visit weekly, staff very friendly and helpful, always willing he help.
Residents appear comfortable and happy.
Would recommend this nursing home.
Meals are good, nice and warm, plus activities if residents want to participate.

I have visited the Acorn Nursing Home twice a week over the last three and a half years. I have found both the staff and management very caring. The manager is very approachable and always makes herself available to deal with any queries at any time. The food is outstanding thanks to the chef. All the
residents seem very happy and I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment. My thanks to all the staff.

My father has been at the Acorn Nursing Home for over four years now. In all this time he has received excellent care. He is now bedridden as he is now at end of life, if it wasn’t for the staff at the Acorn for their love and care for my father he would have passed away a long time ago. If he is ill
we get a call saying when the doctor or nurse is due to see him. The manager and her team are now like part of the extended family, they check Dad every two hours to turn him and to give him food etc, I visit my father every day and the staff are just amazing with him.
A few months ago we were sat with him and were asked to leave the room while they checked his pad, which is done every few hours. Whilst we were waiting outside we heard the staff singing to him, and they managed to get a few words of song back from him, which brought a few moments of joy to us both.

My mum is very happy at Acorn Nursing Home, this is the most important thing for me. Everyone is so helpful and caring, nothing is too much trouble. The home is kept lovely and clean and well-maintained. I love seeing all the photographs on social media of residents enjoying activities and trips out.
The hairdresser and chiropodist visit regularly and Mum's fingernails are kept painted, there’s always something going on. Appropriate staff are always available to discuss any questions or concerns I may have.

My mum has been a resident of Acorn Nursing Home for over three years. In this time, my mum has been made to feel like part of the Acorn family, she is extremely well cared for and highly thought of.
The staff nurses and management go out of their way to ensure my mum's health and all her needs are
met. They go beyond to ensure that I am kept updated with all her care needs and also making sure that I am ok too.
My mum's health has deteriorated over time and has relied on the staff more and more, they are always there for her, myself and my family.
Thank you to all of you because every day I know my mum is in good hands.

After a brief stint in hospital, my Grandad was unable to return home and he was given a year to live. Most well-rated establishments had long waiting lists, so we chose the Acorn as a temporary solution.
After just three weeks, he passed away. As we live not far away, we got there 20 minutes after
and his bed was already stripped.
Completely grief-stricken, we got a call the morning after from the manager to say we needed to collect his belongings. I was in disbelief to see that his belongings had been put in bin bags in reception. There were some items of furniture missing so I was taken back to his room to collect them. To my horror, another resident had already moved in. I awkwardly removed the resident’s possessions out of my Grandad’s chest of drawers whilst trying to see if there was anything else left in the room while being rushed by the staff. It was a truly heartless experience.
I warn anyone who is thinking of putting their loved ones in this establishment to think twice.

In hospital, I had to go for an emergency operation. Thanks to the amazing one from the adult social services mental health team Blackpool, Mother was admitted for emergency care at Acorn Nursing Home. After recovering and having my first holiday since 2016 she came back home safe and well. They did
a great job. I recommend Acorn for the care of your elderly parent or relative. Well done. I am very grateful for the professionalism and what a great staff team they have. Thank you. Mother says thank you also (in her own way).

Mostly happy with resident's care etc - any problems I can always discuss with the Manager/Manageress or staff members who are always willing to help sort things out, resident is mostly happy and trusts most of his care staff/team too.
