Exceptional care for my mother with advanced complex dementia. It must be noted the staff who have worked throughout Christmas time are unable to celebrate with their own families whilst looking after other people's relatives.
Thank you.

Although Dad was only at the home for a couple of months before he passed in August, the care from the staff was absolutely wonderful. Every staff member we spoke with showed their compassion in how they care for residents, ensuring their comfort at all times. The staff were so supportive and they kept
the family up to date on all his care needs and were with him at the end to ensure his comfort. I would definitely recommend Ryecourt as a caring home and can't thank the staff enough for their help during a sad time for our family.

Mum originally went into a different care home for respite. Unfortunately during her stay, it quickly became apparent that this would have to be a permanent placement. Unfortunately, the dementia home she was placed in was not able to meet her needs. Ryecourt was offered and we accepted the placement.
I don't receive naughty phone calls anymore like I did when she was in the other home. Mum's needs are met and she is clearly a lot happier there. The atmosphere is a lot calmer here (which is what mum needed). She is kept stimulated and not left in a chair. Her medication was reduced when she came here and as such, she is no longer zombied-fired after her tablets. While mums dementia has further progressed now she is a lot calmer and suffers less anxiety as she is on better medication (so it seems) The staff were quick to pick up on mums triggers and what upsets her. Not long after arriving the home felt they could deal with any behaviour mum presented as such she was discharged from RIT team.

We spent months looking for a nursing home that would meet my father’s specific dementia needs. A friend suggested we look at Belsfield Care and from our first visit we immediately knew this was the place for Dad.
The staff are friendly, helpful and compassionate. What struck me was that within four
weeks of Dad being there they ‘knew’ him - all his likes and dislikes and most importantly his quirky character. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff.
Before going to Ryecourt, Dad was in a mental hospital and we had to make the difficult decision to wait for a place at Ryecourt. This was the best decision we made. A great care home!

Having just visited a dear friend with dementia in this care home, I was absolutely blown away by the lovely cosy feeling I felt on entering. The carers are so friendly and welcoming. Spending time here over two days, I observed the amazing care the members of staff gave the residents. Nothing was too
much for them. I could not believe how well and content our friend looked, and this is down to not only the loving care of his wife but all of the carers at this nursing home that do a wonderful job and really care. I can't thank you enough for the fantastic job you all do. It's refreshing to see carers that truly care.

I am absolutely astounded by the quality of care this nursing home shows.
Having spent hours there in the last few days visiting a family friend who suffers from dementia, I was brought to tears by how well he looked compared to how he was before he was admitted, and how lovely and attentive the staff
were.
It is clear they hold the utmost respect for their residents and treat them as their own family. For example, whenever they move or touch the resident, they explain what they are doing several times if needed to ensure the resident understands, and are not confused or startled.
It is so relieving to know that our friend is getting the best care possible, and thank you to all of the staff at Ryecourt for being so welcoming!

My step-father-in-law spent the last four months of his life at Ryecourt and what a lovely place it is to live. The manager and her staff are amazing, they look after the residents like their own grandparents, they couldn’t do enough for them. I think it’s the only time in the thirteen years I have
been looking after my step-father-in-law, that I could go away on holiday and not worry about him.The staff have so much patience, empathy and understanding. If you're worried about placing your loved one here don’t, as I don’t think you could get anywhere better. Lovely people with hearts of gold.

My husband has unfortunately been admitted to the nursing home due to the fact he is suffering from dementia.
After a long search, we found Ryecourt and I feel so glad we did he is cared for in a very professional manner while at the same time a caring attitude.
I can not praise the staff highly
enough, everything they need to do for him is explained to him sometimes several times until he understands and is carried out with the utmost care and dignity.
Although they have a set meal at lunch if a resident doesn't want it a selection of alternatives are offered and all special dietary needs are catered for. As his wife and I am sure this applies to all family members of the residents, I am always told of any change to his care plan and therefore know what is happening so I don't feel distanced from him. As a visitor, I am always offered tea or coffee usually supplied with either cake or biscuits! I always feel welcomed.
So well done to all the staff at Ryecourt you're all stars.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.194)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.194) out of 10 for Ryecourt Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.4 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.783 for Ryecourt Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (20 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 23 Ratings = 4.783

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.411 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Ryecourt Nursing Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 7 = 0.286

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
