Our dad was brought into Valley Park for rehabilitation support after a recent fall and we have found the care and support to be excellent. All the staff our family have met have been really friendly, caring and genuinely interested in Dad's recovery.
His room is warm, clean and comfortable and has
good facilities. The residents' lounge area and dining room are pleasant and he is quite settled. He is encouraged to participate in group activities but is also supported when he feels he needs a rest or an early departure to bed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Valley Park based on our current experience and would like to thank the team for doing such a great job. Well done all.

My nan was only here for a short time she passed away here on 9th June 2017. I had built up a great rapport with a few of the carers that work here. Keep doing what you're doing guys. Carers were great and especially on the evening of my nans passing they were great with me, nan and the family. They
saw me as a regular visitor to my nan and between me and the carers we did as much as we could to try and get nan well again. I'm glad I picked this care home so close to home, nice clean place and carers that will talk, chat and help. I haven't got anything negative to say about the carers or the home.

My uncle entered your home 9 months ago. We have seen him change from a depressed and tearful man to a very happy and settled man. This is all thanks to your caring staff. We visit weekly and are always greeted cheerfully. We are kept informed all the time about him. Nothing seems to be too much trouble
for your staff. We would recommend this home to anyone who is worried about a relative and the care that they would receive. Many thanks to all of you.

Mum has been a resident of Valley Park for approximately 20 months and she loves what she calls her home. Mum has a fantastic rapport with everyone that works at Valley Park and nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff.
Valley Park has a new manager and she interacts with staff, residents and
family members/friends, on a daily basis and for me, this is a quality that is needed in caring.
Admin is also always on hand to help with any needs or any questions that need answering.
The home is spotless and always has a welcome feel.
All of the times that I have walked into the building a member of staff has always been there to greet me and might I add so many times when activities have been happening I also love to go and join in.
Mum would never wish to go anywhere else as she is settled at Valley Park where residents and staff are now her family too.
We would be lost without care homes such as Valley Park and the extra mile that everyone gives at the care home.
Thank you.

I personally think that the staff do a very good job with coping with difficult residents and caring for them in general. From the food I've seen, I think that the caterers do a very good job catering for the residents. One last thing that I think highly about it the state and the cleanliness of the
rooms is very good. It is very hygienic and they all have a big personal space to be able to rest or a very good wide space to talk and communicate with other residents.

Lovely friendly home, not the best décor, but the staff are lovely and the manager interacts with the staff and residents. The home feels like a big family, and the administration personnel are lovely. They have trips out and bingo, singers etc, and special birthday treats when it's a special birthday.
Cleaning staff really nice, just a lovely friendly home.

Current Review Score: 7.4 (7.362)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.4 (7.362) out of 10 for Valley Park is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.1 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.273 for Valley Park is calculated as follows: ( (3 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 11 Ratings = 4.273

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.089 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Valley Park is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 56 registered maximum number of service users is 11.2. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.2 = 0.089

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
