My mother has been in the home for over a year. She is very well looked after and enjoyed everything she does in the home. The staff are excellent and are really helpful but are very busy.

On my very first visit this month I approached a well kept building and garden in a quiet neighbourhood. The security of the premises was first class and after a welcome and security check, I was escorted by a nurse who gave me a comprehensive account of my niece and her care.
My niece was very happy
with the food, staff and was proud to show me her room. I came away from the visit relaxed and pleased knowing my niece was in good hands.

Initially, I was reluctant for my husband to come into care and even more reluctant when he was transferred to Dementia care. However, on inspection, I think this is more suited to his needs. The staff have been considerate to both of us to make this an easier transition.

My father had to enter the Cedars Care Home due to advanced dementia in January 2015. During his time there he was treated courteously and with respect. When I visited regularly and had any questions about his welfare I received a polite and informative response. In December 2016 dad died at the Cedars
Care Home after being kept clean comfortable and comforted until his demise. I am very grateful to the staff involved in his day to day care

Carers try their best but not enough on shift. Information is often not documented or passed on to the change over staff. I do get tired of hearing "I was not on shift that day so know nothing about it". Managers need to address this and make sure ALL the information is passed over. Care plans are sometimes
not adhered too. Some staff wait for the resident to ask to be re-positioned although the care plan states every 2 hours. The resident has poor memory, I do know my brother can be "trying" but this is because of his condition. (Paralysed with a stroke 5 years ago).

My wife came to the Cedars in August 2015 for respite care after an unsatisfactory period at another care home. We found it most uplifting. The spacious facilities and the caring and considerate staff are wonderful. My wife comes for respite care for 5 nights every 5 weeks, with longer periods when
I take a holiday. My family and I can feel relaxed knowing that she is receiving the same love, care and attention she receives at home.

I have used Cedars care home for respite care three times for my wife who suffers from Alzheimer's. I have found all the staff, without exception, to be caring, kind and extremely helpful to my wife whilst in their care. The home is always clean and there are no unpleasant odours, such as I've experienced
in some to her care homes. I would have no hesitation in recommending Cedars to others who are looking for respite or long term care for their loved ones.
