My father was placed in Wyndthorpe Gardens for EMI care for approx 6 weeks. He was unfortunately in the later stages of Alzheimer's.
The care, love & attention he received was exceptional. The manager was so kind, caring & flexible. Allowing my family to visit anytime. The three nurses were the nurses
who supported & cared for my father & I could not be more grateful for their professionalism & support. They really are Angels! The carers, support staff and team all knew my dad by name & showed such compassion right up until the end. Dad passed away last night & I will be forever grateful for the love & support shown by this amazing team. Thank you all so much!

Staff are very friendly, they provide an excellent service of care and it is the best place my mother has been in. They actually do care for her needs. They also care for the visitors too. Always ask if you would like a drink whilst visiting.

My wife has been a resident in Wyndthorpe Gardens since June 2022 suffering from severe vascular Dementia.
She is happy in the home, having no idea of where she lived before.
The staff are wonderful and very informative.
I could not wish for her to be anywhere else.

My mum has been here for a long time and to be honest if I could look after her I would but her care by staff is very good, she gets fed and she’s clean and although short staffed they all try to make the effort for her. It’s not home but I do trust her care with you. Mum was in a home previously but
for a very short time as I personally thought it was shocking with a lack of care or empathy. I appreciate all you do for my mum and although not what she or I want for her do trust you all. Tom is just amazing and really can’t thank him enough. It’s a bit tired and dated but it’s clean and good homemade food which although Mum says she didn’t want always lets staff feed her and finishes it. I would like to thank everyone involved in my beautiful Mum's care as I trust you to look after her at this shocking time in all our lives.

My wife was a resident at Wyndthorpe Gardens Nursing Home for only four months, such was her illness, but in that short period of time, my wife was looked after by a team of dedicated staff and carers to make her final days as comfortable as possible. For this, I and my family are truly thankful. Thank
you Wyndthorpe Gardens Nursing Home.

My mum is a resident at Wyndthorpe following a decline in her condition due to dementia. I live in New Zealand and am therefore unable to visit regularly. The staff are excellent at keeping me informed and involved in her care and I have been particularly impressed with the managers at the home.
I
have just been back to the UK to see Mum and the home for the first time last week and was impressed by the care, patience and attention of the staff; the facilities, rooms and the general well-being of the residents. The nursing staff were excellent and the managers superb.
I would highly recommend this care home and the current managers who clearly lead an excellent team of carers at this home.

This nursing home is led by a brilliant and caring manager, all the staff are very friendly and dedicated to the resident's needs. It has a one big happy united family feel and the communal areas are decorated beautifully to create a peaceful atmosphere. Both me and my brother are confident that our
mother is in safe hands and 100% cared for. The staff showed their dedication all the way through the covid 19 pandemic, they went above and beyond I can't thank them enough. I would definitely recommend this nursing home to anybody who wants a family atmosphere for their loved one.

My wife has been a resident at Wyndthorpe Gardens since November 2021 and is settled and very happy. The staff are great they are caring, friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. They not only care for the residents they care about the resident's families too. They arrange different activities
and will send photos of my wife having a dance. They always keep in touch with you to let you know how your loved one is doing. I would recommend Wyndthorpe Gardens for the great service they provide. A big thank you from my wife and myself.

My mother has been at Wyndthorpe Gardens for several years and has had many ups and downs, as to be expected with her vascular dementia and has always been treated by staff courteously and professionally. I am more than happy with her treatment and for it to continue.

I cannot rate Wyndthorpe Gardens Nursing Home highly enough. The staff are dedicated and caring, my brother is very happy there. He enjoys the activities - karaoke, dancing, artwork etc, with encouragement from the staff for all to join in. It is a clean and safe environment. I am extremely happy with
the care my relative receives.

My mum had an advanced brain tumour and needed nursing care. The home itself looks tired but it's nice and clean. The staff are very caring and approachable if any concerns. Mum loved all the food even though she was diabetic, they catered for her every need. Mum even got on with the maintenance man.
Even with the covid restrictions, nothing was too much trouble.

My mum was diagnosed with cancer two weeks ago and from the moment my mum went to Windthorpe Gardens, the staff rang to say she’d arrived safe and sound from the hospital. They checked what her favourite foods and drinks were and if they didn’t have them in, they went out to buy this for her. Nothing
is too much trouble for them. She was treated with dignity and care, always being told so lovingly what staff were doing and why. They were very gentle with her. The staff at this home are second to none. I met day and night staff and I can honestly say they are the best of the best. They care for both the residents and their family too. This home is beautiful, clean, smells so fresh and is brilliant value for money. I would not hesitate to put anyone in here - this is the best of the best. I can’t thank them enough for the love and care they provide for my mum - she was at peace, staff used their own phones to FaceTime family so we could speak to her. Amazing care.

This is the third care home my Dad was in and it was by far the best. Don't be put off by the exterior that could do with a bit of tender loving care because it's what's inside that matters. Really caring staff that go above and beyond and genuinely seemed to care for my Dad. They were gentle and kind.

This was the only home that I contacted, having had to make the heartbreaking decision to place my husband in care that offered a video tour. The manager was so helpful and kind since it was during the lockdown. My husband is well cared for. The staff send WhatsApp and Video calls. They go above and
beyond. The care is first class, and all the residents appear happy. Would highly recommend.

I cannot fault Wyndthorpe Gardens in any way. The staff have been friendly and caring and nothing is too much trouble for them. They have been brilliant during the COVID-19 lockdown. Have worked very hard to keep the virus away. The home is clean and well cared for. The residents are clean and so well
looked after. The food and service is very very good. In all I would recommend this home to everyone.

In the short time (3 weeks) that my Mum has been a resident at the home I have noticed the consistent care and support provided by all members of the home's staff. They have helped her to make the enormous transition from her home life to a care environment. All staff are approachable and encourage
all my family to participate in the care needs of our Mum. I would not hesitate to recommend this service provider to anyone.

Our father came to Wyndthorpe Gardens from hospital on 'end of life' care. It was a very distressing time for our family but the care, respect and compassion of all the care home staff was exemplary. Our father was expected to live only a matter of weeks but the attentiveness, commitment to caring and
constant encouragement from staff gave him the ability to regain strength, so much so that he was even able to 'dance' again. Wyndthorpe Gardens regularly have events where activities or entertainment are provided. Dad was captured on camera dancing to Frank Sinatra Tribute Act, it's a very precious memory as Dad loved dancing before his Alzheimer's diagnosis. We will be forever grateful to Wyndthorpe Gardens for looking after Dad when we were no longer able.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.605)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.605) out of 10 for Wyndthorpe Gardens Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.8 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.800 for Wyndthorpe Gardens Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 55 Ratings = 4.8

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.805 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Wyndthorpe Gardens Nursing Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 82 registered maximum number of service users is 16.4. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 16.4 = 0.305

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
