The Abbeys is a family-owned, purpose-built care home providing residential, dementia, respite, and daycare services that support people by providing the care you, and your family needs. Abbeys experienced team is dedicated to delivering care with compassion, empathy, and dignity, creating an environment where relatives and friends can stay connected with their loved ones.

The home offers a relaxed, community atmosphere with spacious, bright, living and dining areas. The Abbeys offers well-furnished rooms, where people can add their personal touches and bring their home luxuries with them. The rooms offer adjustable beds, TV, and telephone connectivity, and free Wi-Fi.

Keeping active is important to people's health and wellbeing, therefore there is a varied programme of daily activities and events and an in-house hairdressing salon. Outdoors people can relax in the garden and patio area, perfect for enjoying the views of the nearby allotments or socialising in the fresh air.

The Abbeys is person-centered, and everyone living within the home has a personalised care plan which is created specifically to their wishes and needs. These plans are regularly reviewed and updated, with the involvement of healthcare professionals and family representatives.

The staff at The Abbeys are fantastic, I've found them a great support. Not only to my father but to my family and myself. They're all happy and upbeat on every visit I have made and their interaction with the residents is brilliant. Nobody is ignored. I feel very relaxed about my father being here.

My brother was happy and satisfied with the conditions, never complaining. However, I found the amount of storage space totally inadequate for strong a lifelong belongings. It also concerned me that there were too many incontinent pads on open display in his room.

My initial contact was with the management and admin who were efficient and capable. I was able to select a room for my wife, it was light, airy, clean, welcoming and en-suite was of a high standard. The care staff are kind, caring with unbelievable patience in somewhat challenging circumstances. My
wife is cared for in an excellent manner which retains her dignity. The Abbeys Care Centre provide an excellent service at a time when our family need understanding in dealing with these health problems.

I have no complaints whatsoever. They looked after my father-in-law brilliantly until the day he passed away. Nothing was too much trouble for them and always greeted with a smile when you arrive and when you leave.

My mum went in The Abbeys Care Centre for eight weeks respite care in that time she was well looked after and cared for. The home is clean and welcoming and the staff are very friendly and caring. I would definitely recommend it and use it for mum again.

My cousin was referred for respite here by social services and settled in immediately. The staff and management are all very friendly and supportive to her and myself. We are very much hoping her residency will become permanent. I can't express fully how much peace of mind their care is giving me or

Dad is well looked after. At 94years old and having been a resident in the home for 3 years my family and I are satisfied with the care he receives. My family are from a nursing background and we visit dad 2-3 times a week and we can see the care is good.
The home itself has a lovely friendly atmosphere,
plenty of observation of the clients eg.
Dad was ill in February this year and was in hospital within 2hours and the staff/nurse in charge supported me.
The home looks a bit tired but its clean and it smells fresh and dad is happy there.
The team looking after him, in everyway, are excellent.

The staff are very good, my only complaint is there are just not enough of them. If two of them are seeing to a resident, very often there is no-one else available to see to anyone else.

At the time my mum wanted twenty-four-hour care as I knew there was nothing more I could do for her. We chose The Abbeys as soon as I went in. It felt very homely and welcoming and very clean. The staff were polite and have treated my mum with kindness, dignity and respect. It was hard leaving her,
but now I go home after visiting her and know she is in safe hands and is now settled and happy.
I am glad I chose this care home. Thank you.

My dad first came into the home on respite, the home is very welcoming and all staff made my dad and his family very welcome. We are able to visit at any time.
When he was ill, the carers were prompt in contacting the ambulance to have him admitted.
Dad is always joining in any activities that are
in the home.

It has only been due to peer pressure that I have remained silent until now. This care home requires a huge improvement in terms of staff continuity and personal care. Some of the staff were excellent, sadly a few were downright unhelpful and rude.


The padded sides of my fathers cot sides were cracked

and very dirty breeding infection.


The walls in his room had ripped wallpaper were disgustingly dirty.


One of the light switches had dried blood on it.


The TV would only receive one channel.


The furniture was broken and drawers wouldn't close.


I hope you get the picture without me droning on at my dissatisfaction with this care care that has been graded as 'Unsatisfactory' for as long as I can remember.


Why haven't I complained to the management of the home I hear you ask? I have but got fed up of wasting my breath.

I make sure that our community thrives by building authentic relationships with colleagues, care partners, residents, and their loved ones. We know that being part of our residents' lives is a real privilege. We make sure they have good, nutritious food in a happy and positive environment with plenty of fun activities, entertainment, and events to look forward to!
