Welcome to Fairwinds!

Fairwinds is a friendly 20-bed complex needs care home in Rotherham, which supports people living with complex mental health needs. The home has a male-only and a female-only unit, which provides a supportive environment that’s more responsive to people’s needs.

The home also has two dual occupancy OneCare services which provide specialist nursing care in a domestic living environment, ideal for those who benefit from living alone.

Fairwinds is part of Exemplar Health Care, a specialist care provider for adults living with complex and high acuity needs.

The team at Fairwinds includes Registered Nurses, Health Care Assistants and Life Skills/Activities Coordinators. They provide person-centred care and rehabilitation that supports people on their journey from being in hospital to living in the community, as well as longer term support for those living with degenerative or life-limiting illnesses.

The care at Fairwinds focuses on supporting people to live as fulfilled lives as possible by maximising their independence and building their everyday living skills.

Fairwinds has 20 large bedrooms, each with an en-suite, across two units. The home also has communal dining and living spaces, as well as an activities hub and large accessible garden.

•        Partridge Unit is a female-only unit which supports up to ten adults living with complex mental health needs.

•        Darwin Unit is a male-only unit which supports up to ten adults living with complex mental health needs.

The home also has a OneCare service which includes two dual occupancy houses over the road from the main care home. It’s ideal for adults living with complex needs, and whose needs require that they live alone or in a low stimulus environment.

My sister has lived at Fairwinds for over 8 years, in that time she has developed friendships with staff and other residents. We are kept in touch with activities through a regular newsletter, and Fairwinds has recently introduced us to the app so that we can share photos. As a family, we feel safe
with the knowledge that she is treated with respect and that her likes and dislikes are acted upon. All the effort is made for her to have a comfortable and happy life.

Fairwinds are providing excellent care and rehabilitation for my wife. The staff are brilliant and are always there when needed. She loves the food, which is of a consistently high standard. There are regular visits from the physiotherapist and the staff are very invested in the rehabilitation process,
which is really assuring for all the family. The management team are very friendly and makes every effort to ensure everything is in place for my wife’s care.

I firstly just want to say a massive thank you to all the staff that work at Fairwinds, you are all amazing and I'm so great full for everything you do, special for my uncle and all the other residents. I know you all work super hard and all your best for my uncle and the rest of the patients. I would
all so like to say a huge thank you to the staff for the other day when we took my uncle to the cinema, that was and is the highlight of the year if not years for me. My life is his, he's my everything and always will be, and finally would love to thank the admin workers, for the hard amazing work you do for all the staff and patients and for letting me have the best day in years I've had with him. When we went to the cinema that will be with me forever now. Ps. all my love and respect I have for all of you will be with me forever.
