Welcome to Alpine Lodge in Stocksbridge, Sheffield, a purpose-built care home located in a peaceful and scenic area of Sheffield. Situated next door to is Stocksbridge Bowls Club where residents can enjoy a peaceful day out.

Each of the 67 ensuite wet room bedrooms are furnished to the highest standard, offering residents the chance to enjoy pure comfort and tranquillity.

At Alpine Lodge providing independence and choice is very important – residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with their own belongings to help them feel at home and as comfortable as possible.

All residents are supported to live an active and fulfilled life and are given person-centred care enabling them to keep on doing the things they’ve always loved – and often the things they perhaps thought they could no longer enjoy.

As part of the Sheffield-based community, residents can help themselves to drinks and snacks, help out in the garden and other hobbies and exercise their usual routines which enable residents to make their lives theirs.

The facilities at Alpine Lodge allow residents to enjoy other everyday routines that promote independence, from utilising the hair salon, relaxing in the sumptuous lounges, enjoying the gardens and terraces or simply catching up with friends in the dining room.

Alpine Lodge has a busy activities timetable, built around the key goals of mental stimulation, increased mobility and social engagement. Activities include arts and crafts sessions, gardening, exercise classes, cinema nights, quizzes, musical performances, and pamper sessions. There will be a great variety of activities to try, with new activities added frequently.

The in-house chefs will prepare exceptional food from fresh, seasonal produce that’s locally sourced where possible. Menus will include a mix of delicious and nutritious options including traditional classic meals, residents’ favourites and exciting international cuisine.

My mother suffered with Alzheimer's and could no longer cope, living at home with care visits. She moved into Alpine Lodge, and was immediately made to feel welcome and comfortable.
Her care has been exemplary. Daily care was tremendous and the activities were a really brought a smile to her face
albeit fleetingly.
Sadly, she passed earlier this week. The staff were fabulous and carried out her wishes with regard to end of life care.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Alpine Lodge. Thank you for caring.

Mum had to enter care due to the progression of Alzheimer's disease.
The staff have been excellent providing a caring, supportive and safe place for her. She was well looked after, great activities and the whole team supportive both to her and me during her stay.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff at Alpine Lodge. He was end of life when he arrived, we chose them because of the wonderful care my dad had received in earlier years. Again nothing had changed the care and love he received from the staff was second to none. The meals were first class and great
care and personal choice nothing was unavailable. A special thank you to the nursing staff who made him comfortable in his final days. He was very comfortable and peaceful which was wonderfully reassuring when we really needed them.

My mum has been cared for in the past year and settled well. The staff are very caring from the office to the actual carers and cleaning staff. She enjoys the food provided which always looks appetising. We would have no hesitation in recommending Alpine Lodge.

Mom has been a resident of Alpine Lodge since Feb 2020 - she was 98 years old - she is now 102 years old - and enjoying life in Alpine Lodge.
The manager and staff work hard ensuring Mom is cared for and her needs met. The staff are friendly, caring, and respectful and have a good relationship with
Mom and us - her family.
Daily activities are varied to suit all residents. A good variety of meals are provided - always choices.

When I was informed that my father-in-law was being transferred from the hospital to Alpine Lodge I was very dismissal. But to be honest it was the best thing that could have happened to him, he came on leaps and bounds and I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and affection provided. Every member
of staff is very courteous professional, overall genuinely caring. I am sorry that he had to be relocated due to distance from home and family. Once again thank you from the whole family.

The home is very secure. All staff are friendly and professional and treat everyone with respect. The carers attend immediately, are sympathetic, kind and helpful with whatever needs doing. The home is spotless and warm. Plenty of activities to participate in if needed. Cannot praise the home highly

I am over here from Canada, visiting my mum who has been here for about a year. I have spent over 2 weeks with her at the home all day so have seen the care Mum receives. Carers, kitchen staff, cleaners, and laundry staff have been so kind to both Mum and me during my stay. I cannot say enough good
things about them.

I left a 5 star review when my mother in law first entered Alpine Lodge. However, I wish to change my star rating to 2 as although the building is really nice, we have found the level of care/service to be lacking, especially at weekends. In my opinion, they are seriously understaffed.

If a staff member calls in sick and we cannot cover with our own team, we have a plan to use a local agency to ensure that our staffing remains safe at all times.

When asked which care home Dad would like to go into, he said Alpine Lodge.
My father is in his late 80s, but on the day of going to Alpine, he did;t want to go, but when he got there, all staff were brilliant with him. He had not been eating meals at home but eating everything there. He enjoyed all
the chats with the staff. Bedrooms are very spacious, bright and well-decorated.

I have not put excellent as I think there is always room for improvement. Alpine Lodge staff have looked after my mom, 101 years old, for three years now, they are friendly caring and helpful and I feel confident in their care for Mom. Management has changed a few times over the three years but seems
to settled these last few months. They are approachable and caring and friendly. Overall I am pleased with the care Mom has received.

All the staff are welcoming, very pleasant and happy to chat. This includes the cleaners, office and domestic staff. My sister has settled well and has been supported with whatever she has needed. She has been treated with loving care since her admission. I couldn't ask for more! Wonderful all around.

Mum was in Alpine Lodge for just a few short weeks after transferring from a Nursing Home in Sheffield. The difference between the two homes has restored my faith in human nature. The home is bright, clean and welcoming and the staff are amazing. They actually care about the residents. Mum was shown
care, understanding, friendship, compassion and respect and was treated with dignity and gentleness. The food looked delicious and nutritious and if Mum didn't feel like eating staff always found something to tempt her with. Whenever we visited everyone was welcoming and friendly and made time to fill us in on Mum's progress. I would highly recommend Alpine Lodge for anyone looking for a safe and loving place for their elderly relative.

Having worked within Social Care for over 20 yrs he is very experienced and has achieved Level 2 NVQ and Dementia Stars Silver and Gold qualifications.


He has very high standards and is a firm believer that Person Centred care is key and that the residents deserve to live an independent, rich and fulfilling life.
