Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are so pleased you feel your Mother is well cared for in all aspects of her care. Our staff work hard to provide kind, quality care for all our residents. Thank you also for your wonderful positive comments on our service in general here at Ascot Lodge. In relation to your concerns around the environment, hallways in dementia care communities are distinguished by low-arousal colour schemes to aid resident orientation. In dementia care communities ‘natural cues’, such as furnishings, decoration, colour schemes, and even smells are better solutions to disorientation because ‘natural cues’ are less likely to be misunderstood and importantly encourage us to design environments that are meaningful, so for example, a lounge looks like somewhere you would sit, rest and relax and a dining room looks like somewhere you would eat. We would be more than happy to discuss your concerns about the environment. If you feel this would be beneficial, please do contact the Home Manager who would be happy to support you with any questions you might have.

Introducing Jessica Hayes
Home Manager at Ascot Lodge, Sheffield
“Kind care to me is making a difference in a Resident’s life, seeing them happy and enjoying their life. It takes the smallest things to make a Resident’s day.”
As a dedicated healthcare professional, Jessica has gained more than a decade of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.
Jessica started her career as a Care Assistant and worked her way to Home Manager. She is very passionate about her job and believes in the highest quality
of person-centred care. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Jessica remarked: “I get enormous satisfaction from seeing my Residents and Colleagues laughing and smiling together,”
Outside of work, Jessica enjoys getting out in the countryside with her family and her little dog.
