With a wealth of knowledge and experience in the care sector, the Home Manager leads the team to ensure every resident is fully supported.

The catering team at Ascot Lodge care home understand the nutritional needs of older people and work hard to not only create delicious meals but also to ensure a lovely dining experience for residents and visitors, all set across a number of welcoming dining areas. The large garden and patio area is also perfect for enjoying a spot of al fresco dining during the warmer months.

The dedicated and professional care team seek to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests, allowing them to design a comprehensive and varied activity programme, supporting residents to lead an active life where there is always something to look forward to.

Involvement with the local community is also a big part of life at the home; from building relationships with neighbours in the local community groups and schools to arranging trips around Sheffield, the home prides itself on ensuring residents feel a part of the community.

Searching for a home for someone you love is a very difficult period in most peoples lives, and finding one which provides the level of care and an environment you can be happy with can prove extremely hard. Fortunately, for both my wife and myself, I eventually found Ascot Lodge, and the care she has
received over the last few months has been first class. It is also the case that staff members appreciate and understand what it means to those close to the residents, so, on a personal level, this has helped me considerably to adjust to what is such a major change in our lives.

It's been a lovely experience to take my wife to Ascot Lodge and for her to stop there for the last month, the staff are good to deal with and look after her twenty four seven with meals, drinks, tablets and clothes, anything that is asked of them. All my sons and I like the place it's clean and tidy.

My father-in-law came to Ascot Lodge in October 2015, and we have found that the is much happier here than at his previous care home. Ascot Lodge is exceptionally clean and the staff are well trained and caring. The food is excellent as are the rooms. The manageress is hands on and often chats to relatives.
It is a fabulous place and we are happy and reassured that he is well taken care of and happy.

Our mother was cared for at Ascot Lodge Nursing Home in Sheffield for over five years. We looked at many EMI nursing homes during our initial search but chose this home based on a gut feeling about the caring nature of their staff. Back in August 2010 Ascot Lodge was not perhaps the best decorated home
in the sector, nor for us personally was it the closest to our homes, but when we visited Ascot Lodge (unannounced) looking at interaction between the carers/nurses and the residents, and noting the general atmosphere, we gained the impression that the staff were very caring and that many had an intuitive and sympathetic understanding of the very debilitating nature of the various forms of dementia. This gut feeling which was the deciding factor in our choice was subsequently proven to be correct. Mum was always very well cared for, she was always clean, well fed and always in her own clothes. She was treated with dignity. We witnessed many individual acts of kindness towards mum by the staff and this made a real difference to her. At Ascot Lodge mum had a quality of life which can be difficult with her illness. As visitors, staff at Ascot Lodge always made us feel very welcome whatever time of the day we visited. We were made to feel part of a family. For those travelling from further afield Ascot Lodge is very well situated for public transport (there is a frequent tram service which links to the train station) and the main arterial roads which connect to the M1.

My mother was resident at Ascot Lodge in Sheffield. The staff were really helpful and kind and caring towards my mum and they made her final days as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I am only sorry that my mum was not around for a longer time.

The management team were very supportive in arranging a place at the home on our behalf. The nursing and care team show great empathy and take time to spend with my father and my family at all times. The home manager has been very supportive in guiding the family through these first stages of my fathers
illness. The nursing team have kept us well informed and the care team at Ascot Lodge are a credit to their chosen profession.

I was surprised and pleased how well mum looked after being in Ascot Lodge for only 10 days. She was obviously very comfortable and looked well cared for. I am very happy we chose Ascot Lodge.

First visit to find a suitable nursing home (urgent need -fast track situation in place) was on New Years day afternoon Jan 1st. Even so we were given a detailed explanatory guide around the building and the nursing care system- very much appreciated. Transfer to Ascot Lodge was on 7th Jan and after
5+ weeks of a bedridden situation, within less than a week mum is sitting in a reclining chair and eating proper full meals (unlike the smoothies/porridge of previous month) all down to improved care/support in understanding a 101 year old dementia sufferers needs. Thank you to all at Ascot Lodge.

Introducing Jessica Hayes


Home Manager at Ascot Lodge, Sheffield


“Kind care to me is making a difference in a Resident’s life, seeing them happy and enjoying their life. It takes the smallest things to make a Resident’s day.”


As a dedicated healthcare professional, Jessica has gained more than a decade of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Jessica started her career as a Care Assistant and worked her way to Home Manager. She is very passionate about her job and believes in the highest quality
of person-centred care. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Jessica remarked: “I get enormous satisfaction from seeing my Residents and Colleagues laughing and smiling together,”


Outside of work, Jessica enjoys getting out in the countryside with her family and her little dog.
