Broomcroft House warmly welcomes residents in need of nursing or residential care, including those living with dementia or Parkinson’s. Its highly professional team is also experienced in palliative, convalescence and respite care.

The home consists of two two-storey houses that both have well-furnished sitting rooms, spacious dining rooms and bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The lower floor is specially adapted for those with physical frailties and there is good wheelchair access throughout.

Residents’ individual food preferences are incorporated into daily menus and discussed with individuals shortly after their arrival. There is always a choice of hot and cold dishes and snacks and drinks are available throughout the day.

The activity programme is arranged to suit all personal interests and some residents have set up their own painting and knitting clubs. Days out and organised excursions also feature.

I came into Broomcroft in August 2011. From the first few hours, I was made to feel comfortable and happy. As well as working hard, all the staff enjoy a joke and a bit of fun. Visitors are made very welcome and my physiotherapist says this is one of the very best care homes she visits. The food is
excellent. The chef regularly asks if there is any food I would like.

On entering the premises I was amazed there was no smell of urine or disinfectant. All the building is very clean and airy. The staff were all very friendly and observant to the residents needs. All happy and attentive towards the people of different degrees of illness. The stimulation towards patients
was varied and the carers always knew which stimulates suites each one and all. I was there for the dinner time and the food was imaginative and colourful and very palatable.

We were very disappointed in the care mum received. Poor management structure. Don't be fooled by the fancy curtains and decor, all is not what it seems. Research other homes before making a decision.
Bupa are not the easiest organisation to deal with, their communication is shocking.
Fees do not
represent the standard of service and care that is expected.

I have been managing nursing and residential care homes for five years and joined Broomcroft House in March 2024.


I started working as a care assistant in 2008 and worked my way up to become a home manager. I have Level 5 in health and social care management and have previously worked as a dementia coach.


I have a passion for elderly care and promoting people’s dignity and respect. I want to leave work at the end of the day knowing I’ve made a positive difference to somebody’s day.


Originally from Sheffield, I now live in Derbyshire. I have a daughter and I love going away in our caravan and spending time out in the peak district.

I have been at Bupa for 6 years. I originally came to work in the care sector in 2012, where I first worked in care in the community. I love helping people and caring for those most vulnerable in our society. I feel it is my chance to give back to those who have gone through so much in order for us to have the lives we have now.


In my spare time, I love taking long walks with my dog and spending time with friends and family. I enjoy travelling and visiting new places.

I’m Melissa and I've worked at Broomcroft House since 2014 - as a care assistant for four years, before becoming the Receptionist/Administrative Assistant six years ago.


I did a teaching degree at the University in Wales to teach Special Educational Needs (SEN). I started doing care in the community and found that care was what I wanted to do as a career. I did care in the community until 2014 in Wales and then moved home to Sheffield and decided that I’d like to work in a care home setting. I changed roles in 2018 for a new challenge as expanding my knowledge base is important to me. I love it!


I live in Sheffield; my family and I are from the local area. I have been married for nearly five years and spend my free time with my husband and those closest to me making memories.


I am passionate about singing and am often found on the Karaoke however I also like quiet nights in with a film and popcorn.

I’ve worked in finance since leaving school at 16 years old. I nursed my late mother at home for 6 years and looked after my then 2-year-old son. I have worked at Bupa for 16 years and love working here, as I love caring for people.


I live about 7 miles away from Broomcroft House, with my husband and our 18-year-old son. In my spare time, my husband and I enjoy travelling to different breweries and real ale festivals. Our family are all keen Sheffield United supporters and love going to the home & away matches as season ticket holders.

I am a passionate and outgoing person who loves to make a difference to people’s lives. I come from a background of a bachelor’s degree in journalism studies and recently graduated with a Masters in Filmmaking. I wanted to become an activities coordinator at Bupa to use my people skills and life skills and incorporate them into care home life to make residents days fun and fulfilled, creating the person-centred care that they deserve.


I love making a difference to people’s lives and I get to do that every day in this job. I love that I get to meet new people everyday and learn about their lives and families.


I moved to Sheffield from the West Midlands six years ago to study at university. I also grew up going to the Peak District, so having that nearby is fantastic. I fell in love with Sheffield, and I never went back. I am a massive extrovert who loves people and learning about them. I have two beautiful cats (Poppy and Mowser) with my partner. I enjoy walking , camping, singing, anything crafty, roller skating and most importantly, dancing and having a boogie to some disco music (my favourite)!
