The staff I have met have all been very courteous, professional, helpful and supportive to me and to my needs. The room is comfortable, clean and spacious. Food is very good, with a good selection. The facilities are excellent, the support is exceptional and the staff are first-rate.

I arrived on 3/2/21, I was unable to even stand. I was greeted by a number of staff
including the manager and assistant manager, nurse/support staff, even the chef and hostess and other members.
The introduction was outstanding.
I was given extensive physio and occupational therapy, and within
one month, I was able to walk with frame, and as the weeks went on, I gained more strength in my muscles, and by the time I was due for discharge, I was able to walk a short distance.
I would recommend this unit to all needing extensive rehabilitation.
All the rooms are equipped to meet the needs of wheelchair dependent clients.
The chef/hostess visits every day with a choice of menu; all meals served in your room arrive on trays with excellent presentation.
The laundry staff are excellent at collecting laundry each day and brought it back the same day.
I am so grateful to all who have taken care of me. I came home on 9/4 and walked out of the unit unaided.
Thank you to everyone.

The staff at Stocksbridge Neuro care are truly wonderful caregivers. My brother suffered a major cardiac arrest and with their love, compassion and expertise he has reached a level of recovery that we did not expect. Thank you so very much to the amazing team.

My son has lived at Stocksbridge Brain Injury Center for over three years and it is a miracle the way he has progressed in so many ways during that time. He is so well taken care of by the friendly caring staff. I feel relaxed about everything knowing I can come back home knowing my son is safe, well
and happy.
My son has many needs that he cannot take care of himself so a big thank you to the all the staff. God bless you all.

Since my brother came to stay here has a corner has been turned for us.
The day he arrived, I felt that my brother had come 'home'. The amazing people there were waiting to meet him and to work with him and he changed almost overnight. At Stocksbridge family are just as much part of the care as the
client is. I can visit and 'phone if I feel a bit down, and I always feel much better having spoken to someone, they reassure me and tell me about my brother's day. The tiniest achievement is a triumph and it shows on the faces and the actions of the team here. I visit regularly and I enjoy it. No matter what time of day, the team here are always cheerful and doing their absolute best. My brother's dignity is maintained at all times, and the smile on his face when the members of the team enter his room is precious. I never like to refer to Stocksbridge as a 'home' but if I were to do so, I would say it is a home that is occupied by a wonderful caring family.
I cannot thank them enough.

Reply from Jill Salmon, Centre Manager at Stocksbridge Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre

Firstly, thank you so much for taking the time to post a review. We love hearing from our patients and their families to find out what they think about the service we provide. I have shown your review to the team here at Stocksbridge and they were delighted that you and your brother are happy with our care and support. We could not provide the level of care we do without input from our families who make such a huge contribution to our clients' lives and their rehabilitation. We feel honoured that we are able to work with such lovely patients and families who support all of us to achieve great outcomes. Thank you! Jill Salmon, Centre Manager

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.208)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.208) out of 10 for Stocksbridge Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Stocksbridge Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.208 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stocksbridge Neuro-Rehabilitation Centre is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 24 registered maximum number of service users is 4.8. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 4.8 = 0.208

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
