Lister House is a family run home and is an adapted house offering care for up to 31 people over two floors. The rooms are a mix of 26 singles and 3 shared rooms. Although my father was in Lister House for a short period his diagnosis was terminal. Every member of the staff was friendly, empathetic and went the extra mile should my dad need anything whether it be emotional or physical. One male member of staff (You know who you are) was particularly thoughtful
as he was going to bring in his collection of The Great Carusoe CDs and a signed copy of an Al Jolson poster who were my dad's favourites in the day. Alas, The Male carer was 1 day too late as my dad passed the next day. I would, without doubt, recommend Lister House to anyone who needed guidance on where to place their loved ones. Thank you to all the staff from the Family.

Managed to get my dad in the care home at quite short notice which was really helpful. I couldn't comment on the standard of the food and drink in the main as I wasn't there at meal times. The staff were very nice and treat my dad with respect.
I scored facilitites as good as there was just a toilet
and handbasin in the bathroon. Overall excellent and very happy with the care.

Lister House is a very well run, friendly place. All the staff are very helpful and caring and the rooms are always clean. I am more than happy with the help and treatment they give to myself and especially my brother who has been in full-time care for over a year.

My Mum passed away this month. For the last 3+ years, she had been resident at Lister House. In that time, my wife and I have visited countless times, at different times and on different days. The staff had no idea when we might turn up and yet my Mum was always looking smart, clean, well groomed and
whenever possible - happy.
We feel so lucky to have chosen Lister House for my Mum's last years - I honestly believe that their care and attention together with the facilities, catering and not least the nursing standards - have been second to none. Having my Mum in this home took so much pressure off me and I always knew, as was demonstrated on occasion - that if anything was untoward with Mum - they'd be on the phone and let me know.

Following a diagnosis of advanced lung cancer, my husband's brother became a resident at Lister House receiving Palliative Care from the wonderful team of nurses and carers there. My husband who is nearly 80 and a stroke victim visited daily. On the days I was at work I would drop him off and collect
him. He would spend time with his brother sometimes long hours. The staff were 'marvel's' as they also look after him, making sure he was 'fed and watered' while he was there. He repeatedly told me the food was better than some 5-star hotels. My brother in law stated he hadn't tasted food so good since his partner had died. The home was always clean, warm and welcoming. Nothing was ever too much for the staff. The owner even arranged to buy in Duck eggs when she found out my brother in law loved them. Lister House became home to the whole family in the last few days of my brother in laws life. Nothing was ever too much trouble, we never felt in the way the staff were the salt of the earth.

My father came to Lister House originally for respite care as he was becoming a handful for my mother as his dementia progressed.
All the staff and management were so welcoming and friendly, after the initial stay, it was always like he was coming to stay with friends.
The home itself is spotlessly
clean and the staff are wonderful and caring. It's a lovely warm environment to be in. He was treated with the highest of respect at all times.
The food was homemade and there is always plenty of choice with meals each day and nothing was too much trouble.


As my father's condition deteriorated he became a full-time resident and we were more than happy for him to move in as it was like a second home to him, he knew all the staff and he had the same bedroom he had always stayed in.


I cannot praise the staff and management highly enough, the home is run by people who really care.
